Independence Toyota is a small dealership located right outside of Hazleton, directly across from Walmart. I have been here twice for warranty work and they have been nothing but easy to work with. Service entrance is on the side of the building with two covered drive-up lanes. The waiting area is nice enough for a dealership with seating, Wi-Fi, power outlets, and coffee. My second appointment was also completed faster than expected, another plus. Overall, Independence Toyota was the right choice for my warranty work. read more

My daughter and I were traveling north from FL in her 1st car when she had an issue she wanted to check to make sure she didn't have problems later. The staff of Independence Toyota were absolutely fantastic. When the mechanic came out to discuss his findings he started to discuss the issue with me but when I said "it's her car" he instantly directed his attention to her making she she understood the situation. He also gave her advice as to what she should do in the near future in regards to maintenance. If I could give a higher rating I would!!!. I was driving from Delaware to Bloomsburg to pick up my son and retread from a tractor trailer hit the front of my car on I 80 and damaged the air dam. KIA service dept told me they couldn't help because they were too busy and I should try another garage or maybe Walmart. My dad said I should try Toyota as he gets his cars there and they are "great". I pulled in and explained my situation and they said "not a problem we will fit you in right away so that you can get your son". My salesman was Lonn Fisher and let me just start by saying....he is fantastic!! Back in 2015 he sold us a 2016 Camry. He was patient and kind and super helpful. Over the pastv3 years he kept in touch with my father and I and I think that was so nice of him. Well, yesterday we decided to buy another Camry. So of course we went to him!!! Everyone reading this review please pay attention. Do not ever have business with these guys. They are very and very unprofessional and not serious with their service. I called the dealership on Thursday asking for the availability of a new Toyota Highlander Hybrid which was on sale online. They said that the car is available and we settled up an appointment for next day which was a Friday. I had to drive 2 hours to look at the car and possibly purchase. They knew that I was coming because obviously I made an appointment. I do want to specify the person I talked to on Thursday was George who said he won't be available on the next day to show me the car. He said that another sales person whose name is Ramon will take care of us and show us the car. We agreed everything was going well. On Friday morning Ramon texts me that he is waiting for me and that the car is ready to be looked at and I gave a him a time window between which I would be arriving. He said thanks for the heads up and I will see you later. I took off work early got my kids off school early and my wife also took off work and we cancelled any plans that we possibly had and went on road. After 1 hour and 55 minutes of driving there was just 5 minutes left before our arrival and Ramon suddenly texts me that somebody just walked in without an appointment and bought the car while knowing that we are on the way and WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT. As soon as I arrived I already saw them closing the deal and signing the contract. When I asked Ramon why did you not let them know that we are coming he said because they wanted to buy the car while he knew that we were on the way. These guys are unprofessional and I'm reaching out to everyone please do not make any business with them. They are very bad liars and this is not serious dealership. They should have given me a chance to look at the car. While at the same time I lost 2 full tanks of gas and 5 hours of my time. Again do not work with them just recommending. read more

Our car broke down on the way to NYC. My dad wanted a quick fix so he bought a Corolla here. The sales staff was very professional and helped us get back on the road without too much pain. The only main issue is that they do not finance to out of state customers which led to a few hurdles we hopped over and only added to the uniqueness and fun of the trip. If I lived around here, this would be the dealership I would go to. There was no pressure to buy. We entered the lot with a Buick Park Avenue being towed by some dude while we sat on the bench seat of the truck. I guess the bargaining chip of a trade in car was out the window at that point. Had to get my frame replaced. they did not get the frame for 13 months. My inspection ran out in 6 months and truck could not be driven. so because my truck sat my brakes rusted up then they charged me $816.00 to do front brake service. Even places that rip you off don't charge you this much. read more

Could not be more grateful for these incredible folks. We were driving on an all-day road trip when our Prius decided to misbehave in the middle of highway driving. After briefly pulling over, we found these folks and drove the half-hour to get to them. They worked us in right away, had the car up on a lift 15 minutes after we got there, showed us what had happened, explained it was still safely drivable, and did not try to sell me an ounce of additional parts or labor since it was not essential to get back on the road ASAP. I will not buy a car from here. We have a 2011 Toyota RAV4 that had a recall issued for the windshield wiper blade. The communication from Toyota clearly states we can take it to any Toyota dealer to have it replaced. Independence Toyota refused to service the car's recall unless we were "experiencing a specific problem with it." So we have to wait until the wiper goes bad until it can be fixed? I don't think this is the way a recall works and I don't think this is the way to run a business. You've lost one family of customers. We have also contacted Toyota. P.S. When Toyota of Scranton was called about the recall they said they would service it immediately. read more

If I could give this dealership a negative star I would. The sales people are very unprofessional and the management is just as bad. I went to the dealership yesterday with my fiancé just to see what they would give me for my 2021 Toyota RAV4 and they low balled my trade in value of it. Plus our salesman Sean Maczuga was a joke. He was very unprofessional. Didn't seem like he cared out wanting to earn our business or not. Didn't want to work with customers. His demeanor and the whole dealership, felt very off to me. I only own Toyota products and he treated me as though I don't know my vehicles. I do my research before I buy something. He thought he could pull a fast one on me and then make me feel stupid. When I was presented with numbers, they wanted a whole lot of money down and I couldn't do it and then when we could them that it was unrealistic, he got an attitude and threw my keys at me and stormed off. If I was to recommend people to go to this dealership, I wouldn't because of how they treat people. I wouldn't even let my own family buy them or my own worst enemy. Top notch, Chris Mackes is a true gentleman and is very knowledgeable of the product. I assisted an older family member purchase a new RAV4 after hers was totaled in a crash. I contacted Chris via email with a quick response and two telephone calls I received my best price from him and made the deal. We traveled 85 miles to the dealership where the car was prepped, and ready to go. Upon arrival unlike other dealerships the price quoted was the actual price. The entire process only took one hour and fifteen minutes. There were no high pressure finance room scare tactics or shenanigans. Was told that a bulletin was issued for my problem and parts needed to be ordered. No problem. Beware Beware, Over charge cost of quoted price, Second time I have been there for service, I am quoted the cost for the repair something, The woman service manager is the worst of all. This time I had lower coolant hose and radiator cap replace service , Parts total $88.86 and labor $190 total $278.86 Then the add $142.50 for inspection for cooling leak. For final total of $403.5, Can you believe how this company do business , For $145 to tell me the lower hose are leaking. Independence was the best dealership we have ever dealt with. They are a no nonsense type of dealer. They respect the buyer, the guidelines we set, the finances we presented and our time, most of all. Chris, the internet salesman, was phenomenal. He did everything I asked, and quickly. He gave us the best price on a brand new XLE Highlander, better than anyone in the tri-state area. We spoke via email on a Thursday, had an appt. set up 4 days later on Monday for 1 hour!!!, and had our brand new car ready for pickup Friday...8 days after our initial contact! No one wants to deal with the back and forth nonsense of a the "best price" Chris gave it to us immediately, he didn't waste our time, and with that, he got our sale. Sales isn't bad, but they really don't sell many cars each month so it can't be bad. No as for service, horrible!!!!! I made an appointment to have an oil change and 5k service. I confirmed with the person I spoke to one the phone that I wanted and oil change and I understood I would have to pay out of pocket, no problem the soonest they had was two weeks away, again no problem. I show up for my service 10 min early, they tell me it'll be about an hour. 2 hours later, it's done! Well they start going over the paper work and explaining what was done. No oil change, I questioned why, they tell me they only do them every 10,000 miles! I argue with the clowns and next thing I know I have 8 different service guys surrounding me!!! This is the worst service I have ever experienced!! I will never return to this dump!! Plus their waiting room which consists of 6 chairs, was filthy!!! The owners should be ashamed!!! The service is terrible!!! We bought a Sienna new in 2007. since then we have had nothing but problem with the van and service. When we went to take delivery it had already been in a accident. the lot guy hit a wall trying to get it out. Then when we got in thto drive it home the battery was dead. A few months later we took it back because the child seat were quickly wearing away the fabric. The service person told us that even though it has child seat anchors the seats were not built to have child seats. And if we had a problem to take it up with corporate. The rear door when you open it makes a loud clunking sound. but we get assured it is normal. They charge us for tire rotation but i mark the tires so I know that I am getting what I pay for. And they never rotate them. When I ask why they didn't. They say the service person must have forgot. And I have never gone in for service without them coming with a laundry list of things that need to be done and is not covered under warranty. As far as the problems with the van, I know it not their fault. But the poor service is. I say if you get service done by t hem, watch them. They are looking for any reason to charge you. read more
