I was in a car accident today and even though this has been a crazy, emotional, hectic, traumatic…read more(not really) and just a big mess of a day I am thankful for my car insurance. I am on the same policy as my husband so I didn't really know what my coverage included. Thankfully I have collision with car rental in my policy. I called them after everything settled down and gave them the details of the accident. When my rep/agent for the claim called me back (Alvin) today we went through the details of the accident and all that good stuff. He was helpful, sensitive, and responsive to my needs. They are handling everything. They are towing my car from the shop, where I took my car, to their own place to assess the damage. Alvin explained all the different options to me. If it is not worth fixing and how that will be handled and a reasonable time frame (less than a week - 4 working days). If it is fixable they will tow it to a collision shop for repairs themselves. My car rental service is 10 days max if the car needs to be junked (and they will give me a check for the amount of what the car is worth before the accident). If the car needs to be repaired the car rental is for 30 days. This has been a huge weight off my shoulders. They are taking fast action and I don't have to do anything except give them the police report number. Thank you for making a bad experience must more tolerable. A+ *oh one side note - I did not know I had car rental coverage until Alvin called me later that day. When I originally called in to report the accident I wish the woman on the phone who took my info would've told me I had the rental coverage. But its an easy fix and not a big deal. They will just switch it over to the insurance company and I just have to put down a $150 deposit (but he said Enterprise will usually take a $50.00 deposit - i think its a fuel deposit? I can't remember what he said.
