Our washer stopped working properly so we looked for a "decent" place to do our laundry. I saw the outside and immediate thought it was going to be an overcrowded place. It looked tiny. I walked into one of the CLEANEST looking UNCROWDED places I've seen. The employees were wonderful and helped explain how to use the machines. One employee walked around and wiped down the tops of the washers where people dripped the soap. They have all sizes of washers available. Their prices seem pretty standard for washing machines and dryers. I WILL definitely come back to do my laundry here again! It's been a long while since I have used wash and dry service. I recently moved into the area and currently waiting for landlord to have the washer dryer set up. I stopped by to drop of some clothes for wash and dry. It's 1.70 per pound and $2 if you want pick up and delivery right from the comfort of your home. I live 1 min away so I couldn't bare the thought of getting delivery service as much as I wanted to Service was good. They even mad sure to ask if I have any request on the wash and products used. Which I almost forgot because I like my clothes with no scent or dye due to having the little ones at home. I came in the next day for pick up. Again service was great and they even helped this super pregnant lady carry everything to the trunk! Thanks guys!! read more

I rarely use laundromats however I'm in town for a month and the hotel laundry room was out of order. I was surprised that to wash was a whopping $4.75 for cold water and if you want warm water it's $5.00 and more for hot water. But that's not the bad part it took $1.50 to dry my clothes and they still were not dry. And I had a small load of clothes. However, the establishment was clean. With minimal parking. The place is nice, clean, and people are very helpful. My issue is the cost! Three comforters cost $6 each to wash, I'm thinking that's too much! $4.25ish for regular size washer, again, this seems expensive. $.25/6 minutes for the dryers. I don't think they work very well, it took 90 minutes for each comforter and one of them was still wet! Great job getting my clothes clean; I've been missing the fresh scents after doing laundry! They're fast and efficient. My whites came out extremely white. They do charge an extra $4.00 for separating clothes and an extra $1.00 for bleach but it is a lot of labor and they do an incredible job. Can't complain, it's worth it. read more

We live pretty close to this laundromat and since we don't have one in the house where we live we came here. Normally, boyfriend takes it to one much further away but was closer to his job. While that one is a new facility this one isn't. it's a mom and pops type of place. they have ample staff to take care of your needs. you can even drop off your laundry and they will do everything else for you. The one thing i do like is supporting local business, especially when you can see they're hard workers and pleasant, which they are. We have done laundry at least 4 or 5 times there now. a couple of times the dryer didn't work as it should and left our cloths still semi wet. Both times, they were accommodating and just add more times and fix the issue. The machines are old. they're very old. probably updating them would cost them more money and it may not be cost effective but i feel they do need to work on it because who wants to spend more time there than necessary? especially when it's nice out. i gave the place a 3 star because of customer service provided to us and other patrons. i would give them a 4 or 5 star if machines were newer AND if they accept Debit/Credit instead of old school change. The other part i didn't particularly care for were all the washers and dryers towards the front of the store were reserved for staff - their drop off service, which means as customers you had to go all the way to the back. I don't usually post reviews but after my experience with independence laundry over the last few weeks I felt compelled... As a young family with both parents in demanding full time careers it takes some serious coordination to keep a household up and running... There have been more than a few times where one or both of us are traveling during the week and then the kids activities on the weekend consume any potential free time to play catch up on household chores... As you would imagine, it doesn't take much for the laundry operation to grind to a halt and all of a sudden we're two weeks behind. About a month ago a colleague suggested a "life hack" and told me I should grab the 2+ weeks of laundry, my iPad and head to a laundromat to play a bit of catch up... I decided to give it a shot and found independence laundry on Google that happened to be a couple miles from my house. I showed up around 7:00 on a Tuesday and much to my surprise it was fairly busy. As I started carrying the 8 laundry baskets and bags in the gentleman working offered to help me bring the baskets in and then gave me a crash course tutorial on how to use the equipment answering my basic questions with patience... Long story short it was very clean, the people working there were super helpful/friendly and I was able to get my backlog of laundry finished in under 2 hours.... It's clear these people want you to have a positive experience - which by itself was welcoming, but it didn't end there! As I was folding up my last load I noticed a sign that said they offered dry cleaning service. Having just changed companies in the last 6 weeks I've been searching for a new cleaner and these guys deliver! My trial run/first order was picked up on Tuesday this week surprisingly they delivered it late this afternoon... The delivery person dropped it off was very polite (offering to bring it in the house for me) and come to find out they also gave me a really nice garment/laundry bag (see pic)... These guys really know how to treat a customer. Couldn't have asked for a better, more friendly and affordable service... I don't feel compelled to write reviews unless I've had a really exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. I had been on vacation and was feeling overwhelmed with all the laundry I had. The staff showed me how to work the machines and gave me some tips. After my first load of laundry I decided to ask about their drop off service since I still had a lot more clothes to wash. They walked me through how it works, gave me the cost up front, and let me know when it would be ready for pick up. (And never once judged me for dropping off 42lbs of laundry....) Upon pickup the staff had everything all ready and folded to perfection in bags - they even helped me carry it out to my car. 10/10 will definitely be back for this service! Great job! read more

Very impressed. I have been traveling a lot lately and ended up with a TON of laundry. I looked at my pint-sized apartment washer and dryer and felt defeated. It would take me at LEAST 12 hours to do all the laundry I had. On top of a ton of other household chores I was behind on. I looked up a laundromat and found Independence. Initially, I was just going to go in with my laundry and a good book; and get everything done in a couple loads. However, the "Wash, Dry and Fold" stopped me in my tracks and totally reeled me in. You mean I can literally drop off my laundry and make it someone else's problem!? There is a 15 pound minimum for the service. I was so worried I didn't have enough. Let's all laugh now. I had 32 healthy pounds of laundry. I had tossed in a couple of large blankets that have also been in need of a good clean. They are charged separately at $16 a piece. I found this a little extravagant but I had already lugged them over and thought "treat yo self". I love how this phrase has taken on a whole new meaning in my thirties. Independence was going to try to get them done that day but basically said it would more than likely take until the next day. I was in no particular rush. They called when it was done the next morning. When I picked them up everything was folded to PERFECTION. I could have cried. Even my underwear and socks - folded and tied together with elastic bands. They are still in the elastic bands because they look too perfect. My blankets were so clean and soft. They took extra special care with my scrubs - NO WRINKLES! The same can be said for the rest of the lot. The business was clean and comfortable. The service was super friendly. I very much appreciated the gentleman inside who helped carry all my laundry to and from my car. There is a very small lot in front of Independence, but I parked both times on the small side street right outside the door without any problems. I will for sure be back when I need some help! Tips: - If you get it in before 11am it should be able to be done that same day from what I was told. - They also have a delivery service for 35 cents more per pound. read more

Been coming here for ages. Every new owner thinks they are reinventing the game when all they do is raise prices. They deter you from washing your clothes by taking all of the good functioning washers for drop off service, which is the highest priced in Quincy. Also keep an eye when they weigh your items; they tend to round up to their advantage The work is mediocre and not worth the price. People are desperate but not stupid. They will go elsewhere, which is what we have done. read more

I go to Independence a few times a month at least, and it is great. Super clean, free wi-fi. I usually try to go at times when it won't be busy, but if I do get caught up in a rush, at worst it's been a few minute wait for a dryer. The staff is extremely nice and helpful if you have questions. If you have issues with a washer or dryer they are happy to assist you. I have also done the Wash&Fold service, and it was great. Organized & neat, all of my items returned, everything nice and clean! I wish I could afford to have that done every week but our household has way too much laundry :( The staff really will offer to help you with your laundry! Really kind people! read more

I've been coming to this placed for some time and my experiences have only gotten worse and worse. The owners allow friends to take up eight dryers at a time and cause severe back up, and one of my workers even tried to stop me from taking my pair of shorts that he moved himself off one of my tables. Not to mention the fact that every time I come in they try to dictate which machine is. Even when nobody is there. I'm not a child and I know how to do laundry. read more

My household drops off 60-70 lbs of clothes every weekend to be washed/folded and the prices are definitely reasonable and the turnaround time is excellent! I love this little clean shop and the hours are extremely reasonable. CASH ONLY, DON'T FORGET! I had 1 sour event where my delicates were not washed with the care instructions on the garments but when I brought this to the staff's attention, they were polite and understanding and rewashed what was needed. The next day, I got a call from the owner and we had a great chat. Customer service in a service industry is beyond important and these people understand that. The hotel I'm staying at didn't have self service laundry machines, so I went here based on the reviews. The place is a comfortable size. The only down side was they didn't have enough chairs. Machines and folding tables are clean which is a big plus. The attendant working there was friendly and greeted everyone. I noticed on the sign that they also did wash-n-fold for $1.25/pound. The attendant said they offer that everyday. The soap and dryer sheets in the vending machine are very reasonable at .75¢ a box. Though I didn't check it out, I did notice a sign for Infinity wi-fi, so I assume they offer free wi-fi. Overall, was in and out fairly quickly. If I was staying here longer, I would not hesitate to come back and use the wash-n-fold service or do my own (if I had to). :) read more

I have been going to this place for many years and a through a few different owners. It's small, clean and no riff raff, the staff is nice enough and they take quarters which is better than the card in my opinion....however the newest owners focus is on drop off laundry service and half the dryers have a "for staff only" sign. Even if a dryer is empty they won't let you use it. So expect to wait for a dryer. The past few times I have been there they are blasting country music from the stereo. New owners and manager are very unprofessional. I'm not "boo and and you definitely don't got me" I don t want phone calls at 7:00 am in the morning. The manger is very rude! I have using place services for at least 15 years prior to the new owners without any issues. Having been as young man worked in the dry cleaning businesses, I sort my clothes to make easy for them along with being an excellent tipper. The rates are higher but thought would give them a try since they re-opened. I have personally witnessed the manager treat other customers poorly. Their policies are not geared to loyal weekly customers..I'll just go down the street to the competition for whom I used when the business was closed renovations. Oh! asked an owner to call me but got hr person instead from an unknown number! So I don't even know if it truly was an actually them calling me. New management has focused on keeping the place very clean; which is nice because over the years I've been to some cleaners who don't understand the word 'clean' should pertain to more than just the clothes. Excellent laundromat, especially after the ownership change a few months ago. Clean, friendly attendants on duty at all times. Plenty of machines and reasonable prices. The wash/dry/fold drop-off service is good too when you are too busy to spend time doing laundry, not feeling well, or just too lazy. More expensive then doing it yourself, but also fairly priced.
