Across from Knott's theme park, my dad told me this was the real Independence Hall, so I grew up thinking Thomas Jefferson signed the Declaration and then went on Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. Now I know better because our forefathers actually didn't know about dinosaurs. So they most likely went on the Log Ride. Anyway, Knott created this replica, the only in the country. It has a replica of the Liberty Bell, a few artifacts, and the Declaration Chamber signing room where they careful crafted the Declaration of Independence for all that justice establishing, liberty promoting, and more-perfect union forming. It's not boring, which is why it begins Weeeeeee the people! WEEEEE! Knott dedicated the building on July 4, 1966, believing it to be the most historical building, but I don't think it's that funny. 167 feet tall, is 20 feet taller than the Matterhorn at Disney, with far less Yeti. I do think the grounds would be better suited as a memorial to the patriots who fought the war, but, at best, this is merely a shrine to freedom. Anyway, it's open 10-4 everyday but Christmas, which is when locals leave out a plate of cookies and milk for the ghost of Jefferson. It isn't the most exciting thing to do, but it's free, so five stars. Parking is free for one hour. Not sure what you will do for the other 45 minutes . read more

Thank you for hosting the Independence Hall exhibit. It is on the perimeter of the park adjacent to soak city. Free to see, even if not going inside the park. Everybody should have the chance to see this piece of our history, regardless of which coast you happen to live near. It is very authentic. I've been to the original in Philadelphia, and they have the same sight and sound show to let you know what it was like to be there on that historic day. If you are at the park, it is a short walk. If you need to park in the parking area, there is a $25 fee, which is same for all the park parking. Definitely worth going to if you have never been. read more

Free! Located across the street from Knott's at the entrance of Soak City, this replica of Independence Hall contains some artifacts, displays, and an "audio show" about the signing of the Declaration of Independence in a replica of the chamber where it was actually signed. There is also a display giving info on each of the signers so you know who these guys actually were. History buffs will really enjoy this place and those who are not will find enough to hold their attention for awhile. A great place to bring older children to learn about our country's beginnings. I spent about 30 minutes here and felt I had been thoroughly immersed in American history and values. I came on a weekday afternoon and it was very quiet; only one other guest aside from me. The fellow who was working here offered some fascinating historical information as I was looking at displays (there were presidents prior to George Washington!). There are also lots of items to purchase if you so desire such as copies of the Declaration, books & bookmarks, etc. Mr. Knott appreciated early American history and wanted us not to forget our roots and the importance of knowing who we are as a country. This place is easily overlooked as it isn't as exciting as rollercoasters or water slides but it's worth a few minutes of time to experience how incredible it is that our forefathers achieved becoming independent and created a new country. A word about parking. As I entered Knott's I expected to park in the Marketplace and walk over but was waved through the tunnel (which goes under Beach Blvd.) and found myself at the parking booth for the park and being asked for $20. I explained that I just wanted to see Independence Hall and was directed to park on the far side of the lot at the Soak City entrance (I don't know if it was just forgotten but no parking fee was collected from me). The water park was closed due to it being off season but there is an open walkway to the ticket booths which leads to the grounds of Independence Hall. So yes, parking was a bit confusing and I'm not certain exactly where one normally parks. read more

Be it location, people or the creation of time and space, I've had the pleasure to work with very talented professionals. I can't talk about what I did at this location due to Social Media restrictions and an NDA, but suffice it to say this has a duality of History. This supposedly is a replication of Independence Hall in Philadelphia. And they have an assortment of replica artifacts to see as well as for sale. What I learned was that Knotts was actually a farm back in the day,this was the first outing. Then came the park across the street with the rides. And then the Splash Park attached to the Hall. They have about three dozen chickens and Roosters that roam the grounds. It's the weirdest thing. I arrived at 5:30 a.m. and they were in a tree making noise. Crazy. read more

If you are into US history, this is a must see. This is an exact replica of the original Independence Hall with a replica of the Liberty Bell. It is situated just outside of Knott's Berry Farm's Soak City. It it free to tour and only takes a 10-15 minutes to walk through and look at everything. There is someone in the building museum area to answer questions or if you would like to purchase some memorabilia. If you follow GPS to drive there, it will lead you to the Soak City parking lot and you will probably have to pay for parking which I don't recommend if you are just going to check out the hall. Park at the Marketplace across the street from the Knott's Berry Farm amusement park. I think you get around 1 hour free parking (can't remember exactly), but if you purchase something in the marketplace, you can get parking validation for I think 3 hours. 1 hour should be plenty of time to visit the Independence Hall. From the marketplace parking lot, walk out to the sidewalk and turn right and you will come to the road that tunnels under the freeway to the other side where Soak City is to get to the Independence Hall. It's a strange place to have this, but Walter Knott wanted everyone to be able to experience the Independence Hall for free if you are unable to make it to the original. read more

Located off the beaten Knott's path and down around to where you enter Soak City you will find Independence Hall a building that is rich with history and tells the story of what helped to make our country as awesome as it is! Inside you will find The Liberty Bell complete with crack and all as well as the constitution and even one that's for sale so you can bring that historical document home to bask in all its glory and history! They have a good number of other items inside that date to the period of when all this started to go down to form what is now our United States it's kinda cool to see this chunk of history here in SoCali as there isn't too much here that dates back to the founding of our country. They also have a curator inside who knows the building it's objects and the history all to well as they were able to answer any question we threw at them in regards to Independence Hall and all related subjects. Inside you will also find the whole set up of where they did the signing complete with all the tables and atmosphere that looks as if it's not a day over the signing. I'm pretty sure they do some type of reenactment inside here but I don't know when it takes place or how to find out but I'm sure if you do catch it that you will learn a great deal and enjoy it as we definitely enjoyed our time here. Overall this is an awesome and kinda hidden addition to Knott's Berry Farm that most overlook including myself as before this visit I really can't remember the last time I made it over here to check out this chunk of history with that said I'm sure I'll venture back here in the not so distant future to get my history on! read more

If you pay for parking at Knott's Berry Farm, you can access this free attraction via a underground tunnel/walkway below the street. You can park on either side and get to the hall of the Farm very easily. Most of us never knew this place existed...and I've been going since the late 50's, early 60's. If you've been to the real hall, it's pretty close to the original. I haven't, but my brother in law has... and he pointed out a few differences. If you're a history buff, you'll like visiting this place. There's a free audio/visual effects show in the main hall and a gift shop in another room. The outside tower looks pretty ragged and they had to prop some of it up with beams to keep it from falling over. The brickwork towards the middle and bottom looks fairly good though. read more

Walter Knott wanted the Farm to celebrate American heritage in addition to being a fun gathering place. Independence Hall was and is a part of that vision. The replica Liberty Bell was donated by a colleague of Knott's who also provided some design ideas for attractions in the park. It's free, open to visitors even if you don't enter the park, and we'll worth the half-hour or so it takes to visit. Try it out! read more

I adore this place! Not everyone is going to have the chance to visit the original Independence Hall, and if you are in California it is certainly worth the visit! First it's free! Can't beat that! Second it's just plain weird and who doesn't love a weird place to visit? Third it's educational! The almost ghost like interpretation of the creation of the Declaration of Independence is delightful and a unique way of showcasing the founding of America. While I would tell you to go any day, the 4th of July is the best! With actors portraying Abigail Adams and Benjamin Franklin who you can interact with. read more

I came here when I was little on a field trip, they have a store inside that doesn't have very much to buy but has artifacts of the era. The Liberty bell replica area has a button you can push, and seating around it to listen to the pre-recorded person talk about it's history. Great place to observe artifacts of the time, and learn about history. The workers are very friendly and knowledgeable and are very ready to answer any questions. Love coming here to unwind and look at antiques.There's also a pond just outside of it with ducks, roosters and chickens (They removed the benches and added a mesh fence around the pond probably for security reasons.) There's a lot of grass around to sit or just walk around and look at the scenery. Its hours are 10am-4pm M-F and weekends** Excellent to take kids on a learning field trip. The Constitution Hall West is a hidden gem. I never knew this place existed until my sister told me about it. The Constitution Hall West is next to Knotts Berry Water Park. We parked in the Knotts Berry Marketplace parking lot and walk to the tunnel next to the Snoopy shop. The cashier is very friendly, passionate and knowledgeable on US History. He said they built it by using the original blueprints. There is a small theater which you can listen to the enactment of 13 delegates discuss the declaration of independence. Also there is a copy of the declaration independence, liberty bell and carriage. Parking is free for one hour w/ purchase at the marketplace or gift shop. read more

If you like history, make the time to stop here while you are in the area. The replica of the Liberty Bell itself is worth the stop in. The rest of the replicas they have are supposed to be similar to the ones in the real Independence Hall in PA. Very interesting to see and learn a little bit more about history during the late 1700's. It does close early (By 4 I believe) so plan to stop in early or maybe take a break from the park and head over. read more

I'm sure not much people will review this as well as what Charlissa said not getting much foot traffic (cause most people are either shopping across the street or at the amusement park itself) but a review is a review. The replica of Independence Hall. This place is neat, but I'm sure the inside doesn't really look like that. I was on the outside here a few days ago but checked out the inside a few years back. Gotta love to see the replicas of different things like the Liberty Bell. Let Freedom Ring!!! I don't know what else to say about a replica history building. On the outside though there is a pretty pond and a little park that you can stroll around. There are also chickens that roam. They could be tomorrow's fried chicken special that they serve across the street!!!! This is a good spot for the SVT Mustang Cobras that the Fabulous Fords Forever organizers usually park the Mustang Cobra owners at. 2014 not so much as that parked the Cobras at the front of the show. We came as a small group of 10 kids. We walked in to the already started tour of two groups. One was talking about the liberty bell and the other was listening to a lady in the corner. We all slipped in and were very quite. Once the man was done talking about the bell the group moved into the signing room, yet our kids were turned away because we didn't pay for the tour??? We didn't realize this was part of the paid group there are no signs directing us to designated areas. Mind you before this we called to get information and they say it is free and the workers may even give us a tour. So we started our own tour very quietly and respectfully but it turns out we were too much of a distraction to the other group talking. They told us it would be best to come back at 11:45, it was only 10:30 so we went to go eat lunch. We couldn't wait till 11:45 so we went back in at 11:15 chancing our time there. We discussed w/ kids about being quite and they were so good, yet we were still felt like a big target, it was as if we were at the library and every little noise was bothering the workers. It was sad that we had to leave early our kids were very excited to learn and yet we were almost forced to leave. I was more upset because we drove about 25minutes to get there some of us taking a day off to this kind of service. I wouldn't come back unless they changed there touring system maybe not allow public until all paid tours are done since there appears to be zero tolerance on noise. read more
