We showed up at 810pm expecting to eat and play some video games before they close and apparently they closed the buffet for the food at 8pm when the close at 9pm. The business owner should put that on their listings!

Went on group field trip today. The food was good. The service at check in was excellent. The place could have been a little cleaner. We were seated in a party room, good service. Our group has been to IP for 6-7 years...missed during Covid. Today the game room area was excessively hot. We've been on hotter days and that room is always very cool almost cold. We've also been when it was more crowded and it was still cool. When I went to talk to the manager about it, his response "It's hot a hundred degrees outside." I looked at my Apple watch it was actually 89 degrees. I told him that. He said the air was as cold as it would get. He had a patronizing attitude. I said sir we have special needs students with seizure disorder and the heat can trigger an attack. I said if you can move a fan near the entrance and blow cool air in there. He told me there were four fans in the game room. Yes, but they were blowing the hot air around. It was about 85-90 in the game room. He dismissed me so I called customer service and told them about the situation. They called the store and spoke with the manager. I was told they were getting more fans. I explained about moving cool air into the hot space. I explained that we had special needs students and that hot environment could trigger seizures. It took about and hour and it started to cool down and they did place fan near the entrance. The manager should have just done the right thing the first time. We work hard all year and spent $1200+ today. That's a lot of money to us.

So I have a pretty mixed review for this place. My family and I came for my nephews party on a Saturday, and they were very busy. With that being said, of course it's expected to be a bit chaotic and what not, and it was. Plus , it was quite loud in the games area. And not just where it's a bit noisy and stuff... but it would get to the point where I couldn't hear my wife who was about 1-2 feet away from me. The food / buffet area was noisy as well, but it wasn't that bad. Pretty average actually. Now the food. The food is ok, not great but not the worst I've had. There is a decent amount of variety, but I think they should just choose a few menu items and have them taste great instead of having so many different items and have them be inconsistently flavored and as someone mentioned in another post, "mediocre". And finally, the games. I thought the prices for the games are on the high side. The prices add up and a few games later, your card with money becomes useless. The cheapest we saw was about .75 cents, while some were games were a couple of dollars (not including the roller coaster rides or thinks like laser tag) I honestly don't think this place is that worth it. We can spend about as much money or less going to Chuck e Cheese and having fun in a smaller and quieter environment.

Always love this place might be a little pricey, but be prepared for that. My son had his eighth birthday and now ninth birthday here today! Definitely love coming here the games are awesome. The rides are great for the kids, a place to escape the sun or the rain. Also their buffet is always pretty good! Service alway good really great to bday kids and the atmosphere is very cool!

Fun place, great food. And you really can't beat the price. Great place to spend the day when it gets too hot outside. The kiddos loved it!!

It's a little expensive, even for a weekend. You would expect more and better choices for the prices we paid. About $80 for two adults and a midget. They had your typical fare. The least favs-ribs(tough/dry and no flavor), steak(tough and under seasoned), steam buns(the filling just no), bourbon chicken(dry chicken and not enough sauce), and the consensus least fav were all the desserts. There was flying bugs, and everything was super dry and tasted old. I get it, what do expect for a Chinese buffet in San Antonio? Well I expect no flying insects in the desserts for the price I paid. Also, 75 % of the fruit we got was as tough as the steak. Oh, and the cold shrimp, either overcooked or thawed the wrong way. The shell was practically glued on. The positives-all the rice and noodle dishes were good to ok. The hot and sour soup was really good! The teriyaki chicken was actually good. The bigger sauced rib was good. The kimchi was some of the better we've had recently. The spring rolls with peanut were good. The two fish dishes we had(fried and not fried) were actually quite nice. All the breads were good. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Almost forgot, the bathrooms were kinda gross. They need to be kept clean. Will not come back again.

The buffet options are good, but their general tso's chicken is not the best (and I judge how good overall Chinese buffets on this lol). A surprise hit is the sautéed green beans, which are perfectly cooked and garlicky--just like how you'd find it traditionally cooked in Chinese cuisine. I also think they're deep fried (salt and pepper?) shrimp (next to the crawfish) is very delicious. Plates are cleared pretty quickly and the buffet space is kept orderly and decently clean.

Came in on a glorious Sunday with one clear objective…read more Get my money's worth. Now one thing I will always respect about America is the all you can eat model. No messing about. Just you, the menu, and a quiet understanding that nobody is leaving early. Brought Jimmy "The Hammer" along for this one. A dangerous man in this setting. His only complaint before we even sat down was that it wasn't all you can drink. Fair concern. Thirty dollars for the dinner menu. Fair play. That is about standard across the city. The real question is whether you can actually make it worth it. I started strong. Ten salmon nigiri. Ten tuna. Four shrimp. A couple white tuna. A couple yellowtail. Across the table, Jimmy didn't say much. Just kept eating. That's usually how you know things are going well. At some point it stops feeling like dinner and starts feeling like a bit of a challenge. You settle into it. Find your rhythm. No wasted movement. Then came the rainbow rolls. Two of them. Always my test. You can tell everything you need to know about a sushi spot from that one roll. Balance, freshness, attention to detail. This one delivered. Clean, refreshing, exactly what you want. Added some chicken skewers for good measure. Bit of char, bit of heat, keeps things grounded. Place was packed. Not chaotic, just busy in the right way. Staff stayed on top of it. Plates moving, orders landing, no one left waiting. By the end of it, I leaned back and took stock. Full. Satisfied. No regrets. Five stars.

Almost halfway into my meal, I go to grab another piece of sushi when I see a small ROACH on the plate. Now to be fair I didn't see the roach crawl out of a sushi roll, so not sure how he ended up on the plate. Regardless, if he crawled up from the floor or fell from the ceiling or was actually in the sushi, IT WAS DISGUSTING. There was a bug on my plate of food. I killed it with my napkin and showed one of the waiters. He took the plate of food and offered to remake it. I appreciate the thought, but I was feeling sick to my stomach thinking that roach was crawling around food I ate. My husband and I let him know we didn't actually want to stay. We barely got to eat half of the food we ordered. I started inspecting the other dishes and noticed a hair on the seaweed salad. Overall just questioning the cleanliness here. The waitress finally comes by with the check -- for the full amount-- and a $20 gift card for next time. I let her know I have no plans to return and to please apply that credit to the purchase. I think it's absurd they thought it was right to charge us the full amount when we clearly didn't get to finish our food. A roach ended up on my plate of food at your establishment. It's disgusting and I don't know who in their right mind would think someone plans on returning to a place they had such a bad experience at. I know things happen, but I'm truly more disappointed with their response than the roach itself. At no point did a manager/ owner come by to apologize. And charging someone full price for food they couldn't even eat seems like bad form. I wasn't going to sit there and argue or make a scene, so we paid the bill and left. I can safely say I have no plans to ever return to Izumi.
