We've not always had the best luck finding trustworthy and reliable home service professionals but over 15 years of home ownership we've managed to identify a few exceptional small businesses that are local to our area - something that's pretty important to me as a small biz owner myself. Happy to say that I finally have an electrician on that list. We recently bought a new EV and finally needed to get a Level 2 charger installed at our home. I got 5 estimates for the project; the quote from Henry at Inca Electric wasn't the cheapest one (nor was it the most expensive) but it was also straightforward with no BS about memberships or anything else. Inca Electric is based within a 10 min drive from my house so that checked the "local" box and when I looked them up online I found nothing but 5-star reviews on both Google and Yelp - and not like just three or four, there's more than 50 on Google and 30 on Yelp, all 5 stars. That's pretty uncommon, so the choice seemed clear. Henry and his crew did not disappoint. They showed up on time, set right to it and had everything done in about 3 hours (much quicker than I expected) with no mess. Henry got the inspection scheduled for us on Monday of the following week and of course it passed with no issues. I recommend Inca Electric very highly, and will definitely call them when we need any other work done. We had Inca Electric install our EV charger. They responded quickly to our initial call, and were able to come out within a few days to look at what was needed. We had gotten two quotes before we called, and Inca's quote was in the same price range, so we felt it was a fair one. During the evaluation, Henry took the face off the electric panel to ensure that we had the space for a 240 v breaker (we did). The thoroughness of this impressed me. They were able to do the installation that same week due to a rescheduled appointment. When they were going to be a little later than anticipated, they contacted us to let us know. Henry was able to come out on the same day and repair a burned out outlet and help me identify a wiring issue for another. He also quoted and scheduled time to come install an incredibly large chandelier for me. On the week of the scheduled chandelier install, Henry called me when an appointment cancelled and he was able to come three days early to add new wiring and install my chandelier. He and his team did an amazing job and took all Covid precautions. They also worked hard to keep my house clean during the mini construction and cleaned up after themselves before departing. Since I got a new electric bike, I needed an outlet installed in the basement since the plug would be reaching across the floor. Inca Electric messaged me and was pretty upfront about pricing and asked me for pictures to match the other outlets in the basement; the price did change but that's because the switch we originally planned to wire it to was improperly wired so out of concern, the outlet was added onto its own circuit breaker. They were happy to investigate the improper wiring though. They even answered other questions about anything else electrical related and outside of the job they were hired for. After the snow earlier in the week kept electricians from getting out the electrical companies were backed up with work scheduled for the snow days. Inca Electric made a special effort to come out and do the work a day earlier than scheduled because of another storm due the next day. As it was my furnace circuit breaker, I had no heat and I really appreciated their effort. Henry was very helpful and responsive to my texts. The electricians were very polite and efficient and helpful. The cost was reasonable also. I will definitely call them again for any other electrical work I need to have done. Henry was able to fix and troubleshoot issues that we had due to previous homeowner's/contractor's DIY wiring for some electrical outlets, light switches, and a garbage disposal switch. He also helped us replace an old GFCI outlet in our main bathroom which was causing issues on other floors along the same circuit. Very thorough. He was very professional, friendly, and takes good care of his customers. My wife and I really appreciate him coming out to fix the source of all our electrical issues! After doing a fantastic job upgrading my electric panel a couple months ago, Henry came out again to install some new light fixtures and to upgrade/replace many 60-year-old outlets. He took time out of his schedule to stop by... prior to doing this new work... to answer some questions and to help me assess my electrical concerns. On the day of the job, Henry and his assistant were on time and they went above and beyond to do great work. Henry is very personable and detail oriented. We had a faulty switch in the bathroom which would work or not work whenever it felt like it. Henry sent one of his guys and he was very professional and was able to fix the issue in an hour. It ended up that the wiring to another bathroom switch was the culprit. The original builder did not hook it up correctly and left one loose. The guy redid the wiring correctly and left the area as clean as it was when he got there. Henry's 1hr estimate was spot on and we're back to having lights. Henry is the greatest! I have used him three times. He responds quickly, schedules me quickly and has reasonable rates. He cleans up after so it's like he wasn't here. He also thinks outside the box and gives me plenty of alternatives if I want. He also knows the latest technology so I know I'm getting great stuff. I have referred my friends to him. He was very creative in figuring out a drawer outlet for the hairdryer and installing a complicated light fixture, and has done solid work with bigger-ticket items. I live in a house from the 60's with aluminum wiring and have had a few issues since moving in. Henry was very responsive and showed up exactly when he said he would. Not only did he wear a mask, but he also brought shoe covers. He got right to work and resolved all of our problems in less than 30 minutes.
