I have gone to In the Alley for years and Connie has done a fine job from shortening and hemming my pants and even long ago for a costume. I'm not in a real rush, so I go there and arrange to pick up within 5-7 days ($10 per pants). It's important to communicate what you want, especially for guys who focus on their primary sartorial needs. Because many of her customers are military-based, I don't want my suit pants, dress pants or jeans to be that way, so I communicated with her that I want my socks to be partially seen and she gets that. And if it's not short enough, she works with you and adjusts it and it's ready for pick up the next day. I have only worked with In the Alley for the pricing plan of picking up pants within 5-7 days, not within a few hours or a day. And in my experience, I have been happy with the results with how my pants and hems have turned out. read more

We sent the uniform top to get service stripes put on the lady messed it up so bad. Not only was she late and not done when i picked it up but it wasn't correct. She sowed it on the cuff. Which it's not in regs! Not only do i have to pay to get it redone but won't be going back. read more

Connie is the best! I've been taking my clothes to her for years. In fact, I don't even live in town anymore, and I still take everything to her! She does really great, professional work. Not sure how her prices compare to other places but the quality is worth it to me. She is always super busy. She handles all the Navy uniforms and usually gets a lot all at once for special events at the base. If you ever need anything by a certain time, just let her know and she'll make sure to get it done. Her hours are 8-5 Mon-Fri. I usually call and check in to see if my stuff is done before going out there. Also, the entrance is on the side of her house, not the front door. I highly recommend her! read more

Miss Connie was a joy to work with! She has many years of experience and it shows in her work. I had an evening gown, with the most stubborn material to work with, and Miss Connie did her magic to make sure it was done to perfection. She even added in an appointment BEFORE she chopped anything off to make sure that the hem line was straight and to my liking. She took 4 inches off of the bottom of my dress and kept the small train in back. It ended up being $50 for the alterations which may seem a little pricey, but with the material of my dress and the amount of inches taken off, i'd say it was pretty reasonable. So many red flags with this place. The conditions of the work area are completely horrible. Dirty and so disorganized. I will never leave an item there again. Very over priced! Completely takes advantage of military service members with pricing. Also reviews praising her on this page are her family members. Perfect example "Dan W" form Oct 2017 is her son. Should have done my research before choosing this place. You can order name tapes online for way less that you get in a few days and there are people that sew for much less, do a good job and have a faster turn around time. read more

I had put in a rush order for some things that needed to be hemmed or patched on. Connie was great at first at taking my order and making sure everything was good to go. About an hour later, I decided that it didn't need to be a rush order anymore and tried calling her and letting her know to just take her time. I didn't expect her to take off the rush order fees since I had already put it in for a rush order, but wanted to just let her know it wasn't a big deal. I left her a voicemail instead with my name and number assuming she would eventually get back to me. After not hearing from her for a couple of weeks, I showed up and politely brought up that I had called her and left a voicemail shortly after I dropped off my clothes and never got a call back and she immediately got defensive and sarcastically replied, "Well, did I tell you I'd call you back?" Naturally, I tried to shake off that remark, and said, "Yeah, I didn't need it to be a rush order anymore, but of course I'll still pay for the rush fee." And then she replied, "Well yeah, you're gonna have to pay for it anyway." Honestly, it was just super rude and in my opinion, she wasn't very professional. Granted, she works out of her home but she's a little too sassy for me. She's also a lot more expensive. Regardless of the fact I only live about 2min away from her, I will not be going to her again. Would rather make the drive to Hanford then deal with Connie again to be honest. read more

In a sadden turn of events a close relative of mine passed away. I needed pants stretched out for the funeral in three days. Our usual(fashion cleaners in Hanford) dry-cleaner said that the lady who worked on that was out of town for a wedding. I'm not blaming fashion cleaners or the woman it's nobody's fault. Fashion cleaners suggested we take it to in the alley. When we arrived to the house that fashion cleaners is in the lady running it was polite. And again, I can't sing praises loud enough for Connie! I asked her to alter my MOH dress for my best friend's wedding, and it was perfect. She's such a perfectionist! And the price for the alteration this time was WAYYY lower than I was expecting. I have used Connie on and off for 15 years. She always does a wonderful job. Faster, cheaper, and better than what you can get done on the base as far as uniform items go. I've never had anything other that that altered, because I'm a man, I'm cheap and that means I only buy ready to wear crappy Wal-Mart clothes.
