This fitness center probably makes fives times as much money as any other gym in bend. They charge…read more65-75$ a month. All the gym products are old and falling apart. The locker rooms are absolutely disgusting by the end of the day. They don't have male cleaners here. That means no one is cleaning the men's locker rooms all day. The classes posted on the doors don't match up to the classes online. They do not turn on the heat in the hallways. You go from the sauna to a freezing cold hallway. Feels like you're gonna get sick. This gym is basically a daycare center mixed with an old people's home. They are always having events and closing the pools. They close early without notice and the hours here are horrible. There are homeless people lurking in the parking lots and come into use the facilities. Things get stolen as well. I cannot wait for there to be real adult fitness club in bend. Because juniper is garbage.

Go at least ten min early though it fills up. I like the home made granola bars at the desk snacks. Also the lap swim is great. Both 25 and 50 meters. I think 25 is easier and allows more swimmers to have their own lanes but they switch it up. I'm thin and the outdoor pool is a few degrees too cold for me. I'm uploading pictures of the indoor pools only which are great temperatures.

Clean, quiet, gratuitously high ceilings, and kettle bells…read more TV audio broadcasts on FM radio channels, so bring your boombox. Go at night so your reflection in the windows is bright. The drinking fountain has exquisite pressure, and the machines allow you to develop a pronounced preference for your dominate side. They've got dumb bells in 5 pound increments with chromed knurling to provide palm exfoliation while you glare at the gawkers in the mirror. I've been pleased with the self governing of the regulars, and grateful for the fresh Simple Green scent laid down by the previous occupant of any machine I choose. Vending machines prices are barely above wholesale, and the selection is popular. All-in-all I've been happier with this gym membership than I was before I got it. Stay snappy.

I was a member for a number of years. Usually very clean and cordial staff. I really enjoyed going…read morethere since it was close but dropped my membership for a number of reasons: 1) They switched out the nice Cybex machines for terrible Matrix machines . . plus, less machines. Lots of members complained. Reed Market location kept the Cybex but too far to drive. 2) The Bend gym is a palace compared to other Snap Fitness locations out-of-state. We visited six in Arizona. Most are hole in the walls and not worth the effort to go. Arizona Planet Fitness gyms are similar in size to the Bend location. 3) Upfront $89 fee is ridiculous . . plus, for a couple it would be $79/month. Based on the above, it looks like Planet Fitness is my best bet for decent machines, reasonable price, and good size gyms for out-of-state.

Highly Recommend - A Real Game-Changer for This Former CrossFit Gym Owner!…read more As someone who owned and operated a CrossFit gym for years, I've seen (and programmed) a lot of workouts. I've spent years in the "trenches" of high-intensity functional training, and I have a very high bar for what makes a fitness program effective. I know what makes a great fitness experience, and I have to say: Orangetheory Fitness in Bend has blown me away. I've been nothing short of impressed since joining, and it's quickly become my go-to spot (even despite also owning a Tonal, Peloton Bike and Peloton Tread at home!). Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just starting out, this studio delivers a top-tier experience. The PROGRAMMING is smart, science-backed, and incredibly effective - a perfect blend of cardio and strength that keeps things fresh and challenging every single class. It's definitely more cardio-focused than CrossFit, but also with a MUCH lower risk of injury! Also, the fact that I can get my workout in at 6:00 a.m. is great - and having the flexibility to attend a class even earlier than that, or during one of the many classes later in the day is a real bonus, too. But what really stands out is the COACHING. The coaches here are outstanding: energetic, knowledgeable, and somehow able to manage three rotating groups ("3G") seamlessly while motivating everyone, cracking jokes to keep it fun, and jumping in with spot-on form corrections. It's masterful - I've rarely seen that level of attention in a group setting, and can't tell you how hard it is to manage all that effectively. But they most certainly do just that. Special shout out to Coach Stephanie and Coach Sebastian - two of my favorites!!! The STUDIO itself is equally impressive. The EQUIPMENT is in fantastic condition (treadmills, rowers, weights, and even stationary bikes and a stair stepper for those who may be dealing with injury or disability - everything feels new and well-maintained), and the entire place is impeccably clean, from the workout floor to the spotless showers, lockers, and bathrooms. I particularly appreciate that sanitary wipes are set out at each station prior to class, folks are reminded to wipe their equipment down after use, and the room is cleaned by staff between classes in the event someone missed something. The TECHNOLOGY is another major standout: real-time heart rate feedback on the screens keeps you in the zone, and the app tracks your metrics over time so you can see real progress. That layer of accountability and motivation is hard to beat, and unlike anything I've seen elsewhere. Additionally, booking classes is a breeze through the app, and I've even dropped into other Orangetheory studios across Oregon - they're all consistently impressive. On top of all that, the COMMUNITY is incredibly welcoming. Both the coaches and members are friendly and supportive, making it easy to feel like part of the group right away. If you're looking to get leaner, build serious cardio endurance, boost overall fitness, and actually enjoy your workouts, this is hands-down the best choice in Bend. It's fun, effective, and addictive in the best way. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Got there and explained (I was 12 minutes late) and was denied entry. Was told it was for safety reasons which is absurd. Cancelled my membership and was told I had to give 30 days and would be charged another month. I agreed and then was charged an additional month beyond. Went in to talk to them and got all kinds of excuses as to details on when the payment fell in the month so they could charge another 30 days (that is 60+ days of gouging). So petty and definitely a petty money grab to get another $80 out if me.

The instructor was so easy to talk to and did a great job making me feel comfortable and understand what to expect. The workout itself could be performed by a varying of age groups and experiences levels. My favorite workouts are the ones that feel easy and fun, but leave me sore. This workout did exactly that. They also have childcare on sight . I would book in advance and the studio can be quite busy. If driving there for the first time, Apple Maps will direct you to the upper parking lot. It is located I little farther down the drive way in the lower parking lot near the river.

Today I returned, and was reminded of a few things... 1. 2015 presented some challenges that caused me to get out of my normal workout-aholic state - I am out of shape! 2. Everyone at Barre3 from the instructors to the participants are an awesome group of people. 3. Holy crap - it seems like an easy workout as your not doing large movements, but wow, those little contractions equal a whole lot of "shakes and quakes" and make significant changes in your body. Classes are an hour, and start out with a warmup floor segment, then move on to a lower body segment at the barre, then back to the floor for more legwork incorporating upper body weight training, and finally, an ab and glute section on the mats. The classes go by quickly, generate a ton of sweat and soreness, and the music keeps you going when you think you can't do one more rep. I'm going to be one sore and happy gal tomorrow after this awesome workout. Sidenote: They offer childcare during classes and have a small play area, and I've noticed over my time at the various studios that this is a workout that expectant mama's love, as it's easy to modify and still get results while creating a tiny beautiful human.

While I consider the ability to travel a great blessing, I have to admit that certain complications…read moretypically ensue from being away from home. One of those challenges can be how to continue your workout routine when on the road. While I don't have specific recommendations for how to alleviate this situation in all cities, I can certainly provide some assistance when it comes to Bend, Oregon. The Athletic Club of Bend offers numerous opportunities for you to get that workout in when you're in town for a visit. Their amenities include 7 indoor tennis courts, an indoor running track, indoor and outdoor pools, a large spa, cardio equipment, weight room, a full basketball court, and 4 racquetball/squash courts. While those amenities don't necessarily make this place unique, there are two characteristics that do set this place apart. First, they openly accept visitors to the club. Many clubs are very closed minded about this, but not so here. Sure, you'll have to pay a guest fee, but it was very reasonable. Second, I found the members here to be genuinely welcoming. I chose to utilize the club for some tennis and I felt immediately accepted by a group of members who have a standing weekly match. After just 2 hours together I felt like a part of the group and left with names and phone numbers for the next time that I visit Bend. Sure, you can come up with an excuse to not workout while in Bend, but that excuse can't be that there's no facilities that you have access to or there are no friendly people here to connect with. And that's...Henry's Take. #bendexcercise #bendtennis #bendgym
