When I asked for ketchup for my fries I was completely ignored but the lady made eye contact with me so I know she heard me, someone else was kind enough to bring it. It's funny how a fast food restaurant can bring back so many good memories. Lately, I always use the drive thru and have not ventured inside the actual restaurant, until today. The recent renovation has it looking ultra modern. It's as clean as I remember it. This location has always provided excellent customer service and has always gotten our orders accurate. Although a lot has changed, in regard to prices...I still come here when a craving hits. Only this time, I stick with the special priced value meals! Pollo Campero expanding with this very spacious bright location…read more It's all about the chicken and being able to select your Crispy deliciously seasoned Breast, Drums, Thighs. Can't compare this with fast food locations like Popeyes, but can draw similarities to say an old school Boston Market that no longer really exists on L.I. You get an option of a side or a few but more homey to the Latin cultural roots of this chain. Therefore instead of ordering say mashed potatoes you can order Yuca Fries :) which are a healthier version believe or not, with just a slightly starcher root vegetable texture. On this outing to try the new location we opted for the 2 piece Drum Thigh with one side (slaw) drink and dinner roll, and added two Breasts and the Yuca Fries. All were made hot and fresh and served to our table by a friendly counter server, family style in large festive plate (w/side plates, disposable utensils). The flavorful chicken was great, yuca fries yummy and the slaw was definitely worth trying since their recipe tastes different than others. Pricing was more than fair for what we ordered, and I would consider definitely going back to try more of their menu items, as well as recommending others to give them a try. If you're not in this area to give them a try, I believe you can spot them at Penn Station. ;)

The meal includes 8 pieces of leg and thigh, 4 rolls, and 2 sides--we chose yucca fries and mac & cheese. I had takeout from a previous Yelp event, so I didn't expect dine-in service, but they gave us a table number and brought the food out to us. They also provided melamine plates, which was a nice surprise and made the meal feel more dine-in than fast-casual. When I the staff member about takeout containers, she misunderstood and immediately brought them over with a bag--honestly, super helpful. Service was outstanding. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The chicken was crispy and full of flavor. My son loved the yucca fries and rolls. I especially enjoyed the mac & cheese and chicken. We also tried the jamaica and horchata drinks (not included in the meal), and both were excellent. I wish I had a Pollo Campero near me--but maybe it's for the best, or I'd be here all the time!

The place is fun, and Bubs seemed to think the decor was fun with mini rubber ducks and a fake cheeseburger in the counter. All in all we absolutely loved this place. Our only critique, put a double double on the menu, or make a secret menu with that being one of the items. Hubs wish he has a little more, but knew I whole other burger would set him over. Maybe the double doubles are what's key for those peeps who want a little extra.

THIS IS A REVIEW FROM AN UBEREATS ORDER…read more This was my boyfriend and I's first time trying Yoyo chicken after hearing great things and we were really looking forward to it but was horribly disappointed. (TLDR - we both got sick) Placed an uber eats order for tenders & fries and it came fairly quickly so the chicken was still hot & crispy, though the waffle fries we ordered were steamed together so it was kinda soft. The tenders look like they were flattened then fried which I appreciated because that means theres more surface for the seasoning & extra cripsy. However, my bf who ordered the Original said his was bland & tasted plastic-y ( i thought it was ok, underseasoned but not necessarily plastic). My tenders were supposed to be Very Hot but it wasnt particularly spicy and had a slight acidity which makes me wonder if i got the hot lemon pepper instead? There was definitely seasoning though because it was visibly reader & coated in an oil that but it wasnt particularly flavorful. (I recently got Famous Daves and will say its not as flavorful as their Hot). The main issue came after when my bf suddenly felt unwell and said his stomach hurt, we originally figured it wasnt related to yoyo chicken and was a fluke because I felt okay and this was the only meal we shared. However, hours later both my bf and I woke up from stomach pain and were pretty violently ill. (Ill save you guys the details). Unsure what happened because we heard great things (albeit from a different location) but I honestly dont think we will risk trying yoyo chicken again

The chicken was perfectly seasoned, super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside -- not greasy at all. You can tell they actually care about consistency and quality. I ordered to go, and this is the part that impressed me most: by the time I got home and opened the bag, the food was still hot . Not "kind of warm" hot -- actually hot and fresh like it just came out of the kitchen. That alone says a lot about how they package and time their orders. Portion sizes were solid, flavors were on point, and everything tasted freshly made. This is definitely a go-to spot if you want good chicken without the wait or disappointment. I'll 100% be back and honestly might make this a regular stop. Highly recommend.

I don't know if I like the different options that much or there is some nostalgia aspect to it. Maybe it is because most fast food restaurants on that tier aren't blowing them away. I am unsure. I do not that the last two times I went there were exactly what I am talking about. The first of the two experiences required a trip back because they forgot to give us an item we ordered. The last experience is the other issue I have more often with Wendy's than their competitors. I arrived and found about five cars ahead of me to get to the order box. It was 24 minutes until I reached it. They requested I give them a few minutes before I ordered, which is fine. The people are busy and work hard. It took 30 minutes before I left the lot with my food. Thankfully, the order was correct. Can I in good faith recommend them? No. Will I go back? It is the closest Wendy's, so yes. It's a great combination of cold cuts that just synchronizes so well with the American cheese and oil, vinegar, spice concoction of the works. As for the hot sandwiches the eggplant parm has been my favorite. The eggplant is smooth and binds with the red sauce perfectly. Today they released a new contender for the best hot sandwich with a catchy name: The Rolling Roaster. It had roast beef soaked in Au jus enhanced with extra beef tallow blanketed with a layer of homemade cheese. The result was the juiciest roast beef with a deep beef flavor. The soft bread interior did a good job catching all of the excess juices as it was not as messy as I anticipated. Hope this stays on the regular menu as I will be adding it to my order rotation. The sandwich was the same size as always and was decently filled, though there seemed to me more ham and less roast beef or turkey than normal.
