Having a very big job to clean out our garage that is harboring memories and rodents for the last 20 years, we met and were quoted within days of our inquiry. Karen and her team were able to start the job quickly and while it was expected to take a week to complete, it was done within 3 days. We were referred to our absolutely phenomenal exterminator Liberty Pest Services and given so much advice and direction throughout our ongoing process of restoring our home. More than just a business, Karen and her team are very patient, understanding, and caring which helped dissipate the stressful situation we were in. I've been using Karen's service for about a year now. Prior to Karen I was using the same service which is cheaper for about a decade. Prior to writing a review, I wanted to give it time to ensure that 1) her price tag was worth it and 2) the quality remained as high over a long period of time. The tl/dr: it is and it did. A little about our house: we have a fairly large house where three adults (we have an Au Pair), four children and two dogs live. In addition, we have two other child care providers that are in the house most mornings. We're a bit of a traveling circus and without consistent help it absolutely shows. What I love most about In & Out is beyond the usual things (always on tie, truthworthiness, consistency) they take a lot of initiative. On weeks where the kids are a little less "lively", they will do small additional things like organize a closet or put things away. I also don't have to clean for the cleaners. They move everything on a counter space and tidy it up as they go. The service itself is fantastic. On a couple of occasions some items were missed. Karen was quick to reply to our calls and fix the issue immediately. She definitely makes you feel like you matter. You wouldn't know we are a traveling circus if you just popped by on a random day of the week. The house is always clean and tidy and In & Out is a big part of the reason why. I have a small 3 bedroom 2 bath 1420 sq ft home. I have out of town guests coming in a week, just got back from three weeks overseas and now have a rotten cold. Feeling too weak to do a lot of housework, saw good reviews for Karen's services, called her on Saturday (10 days before guests due) at noon. No return call, called again at 6:45. Left another message. Ten minutes later she called back. She was greatly impaired. She was incoherent, said she'd had dental work and was still under the influence of whatever medication she'd been given. Slurring words, constantly repeating herself, very confused about her schedule. Had trouble organizing her thoughts. Said she'd come over Tuesday morning to inspect and quote, and could do the job on Thursday. Left me with an uneasy feeling. She called again on Sunday to apologize for her condition the previous evening but once again had trouble keeping the dates straight. Still very confused. Finally confirmed the correct time and date for the inspection and then doing the cleaning. Called again Monday night to confirm her Tuesday morning inspection..she had forgotten that she had called on Sunday. I am getting more and more concerned. Tuesday she shows up promptly. I had asked about deep cleaning...which would include cleaning the blinds, refrigerator, baseboards and ceiling fans in addition to the regular floors and dusting/polishing. I rarely use my oven, it is sparkling clean and needs no inside cleaning, and I clean my microwave regularly, so that does not need interior cleaning, so those things were left off the list of "deep cleaning". One bedroom is my office and I did not want that cleaned. Guest bedroom simply needed vacuuming and dusting and change the sheets on the bed. Other rooms, just vacuum, dust, wet swiffer the floors. Her charge for the "deep cleaning would be $350. For regular cleaning, $250 because there was a lot of dust. (Huh? ) ( difference is swiffer dust the blinds instead of wet clean them, do not clean the refrigerator, do not clean off the ceiling fans, do not do baseboards). I asked her if she would write down what she would do, she said no. All she had was a small calendar with little 1" squares with names of the jobs she had scheduled. I was not comfortable with her due to what seems to me a lack of organization. She also insisted that I either pay cash or by check written to her name, not her company name. As a business owner for fifteen years, I don't appreciate people trying to make me help them cheat on taxes. So I told her I just did not feel it would work out. UPDATE: Karen mentioned she had been here before...five or six years ago. After she left, I looked it up. It was about 18 months ago. She came, and washed my beautiful 2 yr old Italian tile floor in the kitchen/dinette area using water and lots of bleach! No soap or cleaners at all. I was appalled, as she splashed huge amounts of the water and bleach mix (enough to smell from two rooms away) onto the floor. I told her it would destroy the grout (which I had sealed once a year). She swore that she ALWAYS cleans tile floors with bleach and water and it does not hurt the grout. Within a week, the grout was crumbling. In some areas, where she left a lot of the liquid and did not dry it off, against the patio door, the grout totally cracked into bits. I never hired her again. Glad I passed on her this time. And back then, she charged $100 to clean the house. read more

Karen is fabulous! She does all the cleaning for our 4 bedroom house on Airbnb. We rent the house out for over $400 a night so it is critical that the entire house is cleaned top to bottom, and is as clean as a Hotel Every Single time a new guest comes. My guests have all commented on how clean the house is and I owe that All to Karen! At minimum, she cleans the house once a week and often twice a week. Karen is VERY dependable. She works very hard to make sure the house passes the white glove test every single time. Sometimes our guests can be very messy but Karen whips the house back into shape every single time no matter how bad it is. She cleaned the house we were moving out of and the house we were moving into and did the most thorough job I've ever seen. We found Karen of In-&-Out Cleaning on Craigslist. My partner and I both work in SF and commute from north Concord, so we get about 2 hours at home each weeknight -- we needed someone who could pick up the slack around the house for us. Our hope was to find someone we could trust beyond typical housecleaning duties, and Karen was willing to take on our additional needs. This is my second review and I am reviewing again because Karen has been cleaning my home for some time now and I feel I should mention that her cleaning service had been consistently wonderful. If you have not already called and hired her, you should. She has been totally flexible with scheduling whenever I have had to reschedule and now that she has been coming for a while, she really is in and out! She does the job quick and very well. My bathroom is always clean and sparkling, my carpets are clean, my closet is organized, she pulls my child's toys from behind the couch, my bed is made and my laundry is ready to be washed(I don't have my laundry done but I am sure she would if I asked). After she comes, I feel like I can take a breath and relax and when you have a child and run a business, relaxing is difficult!! I really don't know what I would do without her help, honestly!!!
