The location is in a very fun entertainment district so we enjoyed dinner beforehand. Once there, we were seated in the first 2 rows as guaranteed by our tickets that were $5 more than regular ones. Our view was good but it is pretty small so there is probably not a bad seat. Our server was great getting us our drinks and dessert without too much interrupting (There is a $5 minimum per person). Once the show was over, we went next door to the attached bar to enjoy some drinks.

It just looks more like a bar rather than a place that would serve high quality fresh meals. Everything was clean and the service was great. We got a high top in the bar area and they had a high chair that was tall enough for our son to reach the table. It was great! We ordered the caesar salad to start.... made perfectly. Then we got our entrees. Pictured below.... Both exceeded our expectations! We got our son the kids buttered noodles and he ate a lot of my chicken that I ordered. Great dinner and we ALL highly recommend!

Everything about this experience was top-notch! From being seated quickly upon entering, to explaining how the ticket validation thing worked (more info at the end), customer service was some of the best I've been shown. The ambiance is chic but casual-great for both cozy date night or fun family night. Our server was so friendly and patient as we asked questions about the menu. I ordered the grilled salmon with spicy crab remoulade and my guy ordered the smoked wings with a side of fries. I was happy that I was able to select my own sides from the ones on the menu so I opted for the fried Brussels sprouts with maple and bacon and the buttermilk whipped potatoes. After a short wait, our food was brought out. This was truly one of the best salmon dishes I have ever eaten! The salmon was cooked to my liking, the potatoes were soft and fluffy and the fried Brussels sprouts were absolutely divine and perfect. The remoulade was a little salty but it may have been just been my taste. The potatoes helped with that so it was not a deal breaker. My guy was pleased with his food as well and I could tell he enjoyed everything he ate. We agreed that we would take this trip back just to eat this meal again. It was truly a wonderful experience, from beginning to end. I highly recommend trying this gem out! Pro Tip: The restaurant validates parking. If you park in the lot across the street, do not prepay on the app or online. Ask the servers at the front to validate to save the $18 parking fee before you order and within 15 minutes after entering. Unfortunately, we didn't do this and the restaurant cannot reimburse the money after you've already paid. You've been warned!

Even younger, I can remember visiting here with my parents. I remember on those early early trips, eating at a restaurant on site or the servers sing to you. There were a lot of interesting things about the choo-choo. This latest visit, not at all. The train car rooms are all under construction, and that rear patio area where the cars live were equally under construction. The grand lobby that I remember is not used by the hotel at all right now, instead, a location of frothy monkey coffeehouse, and a bar. I felt sorry for the poor guests staying there, because their a check in was to the rear of the property, and everything about that interest insurance looks like a roadside motel from the 70s. We paid to park here, and wandered around, but everything other than the bar closed at 5 PM. We toured everything in about a half an hour, and then left to head elsewhere, because there was literally nothing to see and nothing to do. Sad.

Green bean and mashed potatoes were good...I wouldn't have ordered them on my own though. Chicken was dry and the cheese cake could have used something extra like strawberries or chocolate drizzle. The service was ok. They were very good about keeping our drinks full, but they gave no opportunity to ask for anything extra or different with the food. In summary, this is a place to go for entertainment and fun, not a place to go for amazing food. I'd go again just for the show, but wish they had more food options.

The show here was kind a like a play if you ask me complete with 4 actors and 4 actresses and even a piano player. It lasted for about an hour and a half. It was funny with some skits that even made you laugh. They probably had 4 or 5 skits and each was ended simply by someone running around the stage. Then, they would act out a different scene. I guess this is the improv way. They have a web site where you can check their schedule for upcoming events. Yeah, I would go back again, you bet.

As others may have previously mentioned, this theater is quirky. We had recently seen a show at the Lyric in Birmingham and hoped it would be similar. It was but wasn't. The layout of the building was very odd, men's room on 4th floor and ladies on the 2nd. On the 3rd floor, they have their VIP lounge. Oddly, the only thing designating it as such was a small sign on an easel. Having not been here and not being from Chattanooga, I was leering in and trying to determine what exactly WAS this lounge. There was a lady sitting in a chair just inside and when she saw me, she muttered "Fourth Floor". Somewhat taken aback, I informed me that it was my first time there and I was trying to figure out what the space was. It was only then, that she said "Oh, it's a VIP lounge for contributors and donors to the preservation fund." Thanks! Another quirk about this is that they seemingly have the OG pew/seats! While this is AMAZING and historic, there were a number of patrons that looked very uncomfortable. Also, in reference to the Lyric, I was bummed that this didn't have opera boxes. Oh well. We'll definitely be back if artists we like play here!
