I called days ahead to see if they accept appointments; they do not…read more I asked if I came on a Tuesday around 1:30, how busy they would be. I was told people get served in the order they arrive, but that would be a slow time so it should be fine. I arrived at that time, a Tuesday around 1.30 during a non-school vacation day. Signing in on the sheet by the door, all names above were crossed off giving the impression we would be next. 4 people were in mixed stages of trying on shoes with only 1 employee on the sales floor. He avoided looking at me. Within a few minutes, 1 patron bought her shoes. Great, I thought. Closer to getting fitted for needed insoles and new sneakers! A man walked in, went over to the employee asking for a particular person. 'That's me' said the employee. 'Have a seat and I'll be with you shortly'. The employee NEVER acknowledged me. Waiting was a waste of time given I was going to be passed over. I left. Not enough employees to take care of all the patrons. And a sloppy system of who gets taken care of, when. This happened Tuesday 3/24/26.

I was considering seeing a doctor and gearing up for the possibility of surgery. Before I jumped to medical intervention, I decided to go to Fleet Feet to see if anyone could help me. I figured if anyone had experienced with foot pain, it would be runners. An employee, Dave, had me hop on two pieces of tech that measured my feet, gait, and walking pattern. He was able to identify my size, arch height, foot width, and level of stability. Apparently, I was wearing the wrong type of sneakers and lacked arch support. He fitted me with insoles and a few weeks later, wide toed sneakers. Since then I have had ZERO pain! I realized I had been wearing the wrong type of sneakers my WHOLE LIFE. I am genuinely amazed at how much easier running, walking, even standing is now. I owe Dave my life. Thank you guys so much!

I finally found shoes that I have been looking for here at this location. I had tried two other…read morelocations to no avail! We entered the store in the middle of the day, the shop was empty but we were greeted immediately by an associate. A few people came in after us, but overall I thought it was still slow for a Monday. The salesman came by to check on us a few times, recommend a few shoes and explain the availability of a wide dress shoe size according to brand. The shoes were neatly arranged; I was able to find what I was looking for quickly. The clearance section for my size had good stock. Usually my clearance section has small stock or a limited number of shoes there, but this time I had as many as the other clearance sizes had. I narrowed down my hunt and had a generous amount of time trying the shoes on. Best of all, their stock of Lifestride shoes was excellent! I found some styles that were sold out at the other Famous Footwears. Upon check out, my shoes were much cheaper than I had thought (they were clearance but rang up for about half the price!) I had a great time shopping here (no lines, good service), and was impressed that the associate was the only worker I saw in the shop (perhaps someone was doing inventory in the back?). Be a Famous Footwear member and get coupons to apply to your purchase (download the app, it's useful!) I had a 15% offer which I used. Once again, Famous Footwear came through for me. I generally have a hate/love/hate relationship with shoes. Today it was love! LOL.

I wish Burlington next door would learn a few tips from them on how to keep a store clean and organized. They have clothing items for men, women and kids. Although the women's clothing section is lacking a bit. There are items for pets, toys and shoes. As well as a nice variety of items for the home. They even have some bicycles for sale. The store isn't big, but there's plenty of great merchandise. Parking is easy, since it's at a shopping center. The line to check out is typically quick. I'll usually walk away with a great bargain.

This happened not long ago, that the woman working in the jewelry and accessory dept. was absolutely hacking so loudly it was startling. She coughed for a really long time and was not covering her mouth. I immediately left that area and just went to check out. I very quietly told the woman ringing me up that the coughing employee sounds really sick. The woman started almost berating me in a loud tone, that the employee has asthma and she would never come in to work sick. Ok, but how would anyone know that she's not sick and actually has asthma? Also, she's still spreading germs by coughing without covering her mouth. The cashier kept going on and on aggressively that I just walked out. I appreciate people sticking up for their team members, but this is a completely different circumstance.

"I once knew a pirate named Bob Bob was a drunken old slob…read moreBob was about as dumb as a rock But Bob made it to the top" (Willie Nelson) There used to be 13 Bob's Stores in Connecticut. After the Avon location just closed (although it will be moved and reopened to a nearby smaller location), they were down to just two. So as of right now, the only Bob's stores still standing are in Newington and Manchester. We visited Newington for the first time yesterday, and we had a very favorable impression. The store is big and bright and neat as a pin. Truth be told, the place looked gorgeous. Not a jersey or pair of sweatpants was out of place. My wife was looking for a pair of sneakers, and found a nice pair for under $50. I was in the market for a plain white T Shirt for an upcoming Tie Dye project, and I found a very nice one on a markdown rack for like $6. The store has sales everywhere, so if you are patient and look around carefully you can do very well here. I think we sure did.

Wearing her mask incorrectly, chomping on gum, I made a separate transaction than my husband and didn't even get a have a good day. My husband went to put in his rewards and she'd already rung up his order. My husband said ok, well can you retroactively give me my rewards and she said she'd have to totally re ring everything up. Obviously that wasn't going to happen so my husband said yeah, no, guess I'm missing out. To which she then said (and I quote) Jesus Christ it was just a mistake. As she chomped on her gum some more. I certainly hope she's not being transferred to a different location because Bob's will be losing our business. Oh. And we bought almost $400 worth of merchandise.
