Abbie truly went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. She was engaging and her team made the appointment fun and exciting! Most importantly, they really listened to Veronica's likes and dislikes when pulling additional dresses for her to try. The experience was thoughtful, personal, and completely stress‑free. We are so grateful for such a wonderful, memorable day that ultimately led Veronica to excitedly say "YES to the Dress!" ‍ Thank you again to Abbie and the entire @Wedding Dress CT LLC team. We cannot say enough positive things about our experience and would highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a low‑pressure, engaging, and truly special wedding dress search. Where do I begin. I started my shopping for my wedding dress at a consignment shop that was highly…read morerecommended to myself and other brides on a Facebook group that I am part of. Because my then fiance and I were on a strict budget for our wedding, I figured I could find something "good enough" at a second hand store, or a consignment shop and stay well below my budget. Well that was a disaster! That shop made me feel underappreciated and less than beautiful! Two things that I thought a bride was supposed to experience with dress shopping. I left that shop and knew I had another appointment to go to at The Wedding Dress in Portland. I went to lunch with my neice, had a cocktail in hopes that it would ease my mind - it didn't. I felt disgusting. We arrived at The Wedding Dress and sat in the parking lot for an hour before the appointment. I almost drove away a few times just because I was so disheartened. Boy am I glad I didn't!!! I walked into the shop at my appointment time and the first few thing I remember were the smell, it was so clean and fresh and relaxing (not moth balls and misty!), the brightness of the dresses (and there was A LOT of dresses), and the sound of three voices greeting me with excitement and happiness! Those three voices turned out to be Shelley, Abbie and Lisa. I almost wanted to cry. I explained to the three ladies how my past experience was and they told me "That is not how it is supposed to be! We got this! You pick out some dresses you want to try on and we'll take it from there!" They made me feel appreciated. They made me feel beautiful. They made me feel so important. It was an amazing experience! The dress I chose was a Justin Alexander dress, which was ironic because the original dress I wanted was his design as well but totally different (lace actually). The dress was strapless and I needed straps to be designed and put on and the seamstress that works with The Wedding Dress, Dora, was AMAZING! After ordering the dress and when the dress came in, my experience just blossomed more with the ladies! I really can't sing their praises enough! I am not a skinny size 4 kind of bride. So I was discouraged to start with but not once when I tried on dresses did I ever feel that I was overweight or not beautiful! Abbie, Shelley and Lisa know how to make you feel absolutely stunning and help you every step of the way! I couldn't be happier with my experience and will stop in to visit the ladies from time to time! Highly recommend this little shop in Portland that makes you feel like a million bucks from the moment you step in it till the moment you leave with your gown! There are sample dresses from a couple of other stores, so they may have imperfections but are a really good deal. If you purchase a dress that needs cleaning, they send it out to be cleaned which is included in the purchase price. I went on a Thursday which is one of the nights they have evening hours, and it got crazy in there! I was told Tuesday's are the quieter night to go, because the seamstress is there on Thursdays to fit dresses for brides who've already purchased their dresses. You have to pay extra for alterations, but that's probably typical. There are only four dressing rooms so at one point ladies were waiting for fitting rooms, but I found so many things that I liked once I started trying things on that I was there for over four hours!!! I found a dress that I thought could have been the one, maybe it still is, but it had a little pull on it so I was reluctant to by it, especially considering the amount of altering it needed since it was a size too big. The women there were great, as the one helping me started looking for more in my size once she realized what I really seemed to like and was looking for. The reviews are mixed so I was a little worried, but I'm so glad I stopped in and I would definitely recommend giving this place a shot. Oh, and you didn't hear it from me but there's a coupon you can use in the CT Brides magazine, which they have right in the front of the store! If it wasn't only the second day I went looking for dresses, with a wedding being planned over a year away, there were three dresses I found that I would've been really happy with and worn with confidence on my big day. Check it out, you have nothing to lose!

It was so many people pushing around, nobody paying attention to you ,trying to find a mirror . That was not how I imagined. I wasn't sure I was going to find a dress however I made an appointment at bridal bells for the following weekend. It is a small boutique with one person shopping at a time and all the attention is on you. We discussed what I was looking for and she provided all the options she had in the store. In the dressing room I got to stand on a small stage with all the mirrors on me. She was helpful and answer all my questions as well as made me feel beautiful and special. I would recommend going to bridal bells to shop for your wedding dress e specially if you are plus size . She had a lot of options . Thank you !

Upon walking in, the shop felt small, but all the little nooks and corners made it feel large. Something new to see at every turn. They sell some of the softest t-shirts, delightful scented organic soap bars, cutest stuffed toys and fun quirky gifts. My favorite part was the wall of teas and honey. I will definitely return if I have to find a thoughtful and special gift for a birthday, Christmas or baby shower. I liked how each shelf was a vibe. There was a section with "plant lady" gifts for the friend or loved one that is talented in the garden. They had a rather large area filled will baby clothes, toys, and the recently popular Jellycat plushies (they were SUPER soft). I personally love going to a boutique like this to find a gift rather than ordering online. A Pocket Full of Posies is hidden as I discovered it while on my way to Perk On Main. It's located INSIDE the Main Street Market building. There is, conveniently, a large parking lot with access from the backside of the building. There is also street parking in the front as well, look for the big sign "Main Street Market," sandwiched between Perk On Main and Pokemoto. Parking is $1/hour or free on Sundays.

I had a very disappointing experience here and would strongly encourage anyone getting married to…read morelook elsewhere for their dress. When the appointment started my consultant asked the usual questions, but it went downhill fast. After explaining what I did/didn't like, she pulled several dresses to start and we narrowed down what the next round of dresses should/shouldn't have. She then continually pulled styles that were very similar to the ones I said I didn't like. When we asked if there were other options in the store that matched what I was looking for, I was told there was "nothing else," which felt dismissive. At that point when my consultant said there was nothing else in the store, I'd tried on 5 dresses. For a store that promotes itself as size-inclusive, I was really uncomfortable with how I was treated. I was repeatedly squeezed into dresses that didn't fit properly, to the point where I could barely breathe in some due to improper clipping/zipping. At one point, the clips in the back popped open and the metal snapped against my back, which was both painful and embarrassing. There was one dress I liked but didn't love, and instead of continuing to explore other options the consultant kept pushing me to purchase it. She focused on how it could be customized, even though the things I didn't like weren't minor fixed... they were fundamental elements of the dress. Throughout the appointment, she kept checking her phone and commenting on the time, which made the experience feel rushed and uncomfortable. To top it off, I had clearly stated my budget, yet she pulled a dress that was nearly $1,000 over. Her response was a casual "haha whoops," which felt unprofessional and dismissive. Overall, I felt rushed and uncomfortable. Definitely not what you hope for when shopping for something as big as your wedding dress. In good conscience I cannot recommend this bridal salon
