Also, I noticed there were some very wrinkly shirts, from cotton to rayon. Maybe I'm delayed on knowing what's forward in today's fashion, but something tells me every fabric doesn't look best when wrinkly. The further I looked in to the rear of the store, the more I liked the pieces. There are some formal dresses, some purses, shoes and jewelry pieces that I would be interested in when the occasion presents its self. They also have a sale section downstairs. I might return here soon to purchase a birthday gift for my mom.

They do have a rewards/loyalty program which I signed up for--I got 10% off my first purchase AND $5 off. Also, if you are local or close by they have 10% off Tuesdays. The young ladies that rang us up were very nice. I'd likely visit again since the shop is very clean. A lot of second hand children shops are cluttered, disorganized, and have a strange smell. I do love Max & Lily's Closet's mission to go green and reuse.

I learned working in schools (former teacher turned homeschool mama) from the PT and OT therapists that shoes are vital for proper development and posture. I saw the difference in their sessions with different shoes... I will always save so they have good footwear. The store manager, Susan Jordon, was so upbeat, energetic, friendly, and made my shopping experience one of the best I've had in a very, very long time. I came in to return an order of 4 pants I purcahsed online as a first time customer at J.Jill, I wasn't sure what size to order. Susan simply explained that I was ordering way too big and helped me find the perfect work pant for my new job. She set me up comfortably in a fitting room and brought me endless options to try - taking all the guesswork out of shopping, she picked out items that she thought would fit me well. Once we found the perfect fit, she found the pant in every color they had and went above & beyond to find me the only black pair left in a back stock room (double checking the computer inventory one last time before checking out). She was so friendly & kind - she was a complete joy to shop with. You don't run into this level of customer service at most retail stores. Susan is a tremendous asset to your brand and the company would do well if she traveled to other stores to spread her contagious attitude and friendly service! Job well done, Susan! If you're looking for a new wardrobe, or to simply put a functional outfit together - Susan is your gal! Thanks again, Susan!

On my latest visit, I found exactly what I needed without too much hassle, which is always a win. That said, it feels like the discounts and deals that DSW was once known for have scaled back a bit. It used to be easier to find deeper markdowns or snag something under $50, but now you have to dig a little harder--and even then, the deals aren't quite what they used to be. The clearance section felt more picked over than usual, and the pricing structure can be a little confusing at times. Still, the store was clean, organized, and the staff was helpful. If you know what you're looking for and keep an eye out for rewards or promotions, you can still score a good deal--it just takes a bit more effort than it used to.

However, I tried using a sale discount online about a month ago, but it excluded ASICS. I find it odd a shoe store would exclude a brand, but that's ok. ASICS are the most comfortable to me considering I have a heel spur, and one foot that had surgery. Just to offer my opinion to consider including ASICS, I sent a message to their customer service via email. The following day, I received a nice response from Yelena, acknowledging my inquiry and to please send them the pair I was interested in, along with my size and they would be happy to honor the sale. A few days later I replied along with a screenshot and the size. I reached out twice over the next couple of weeks and never received a response. I then sent a regular letter via mail requesting feedback. Zero response. I wasn't looking for exceptions to begin with, but why offer if you aren't going to back it up? I'm not sure how you simply ignore a customer, but that appears to have taken place here.

However, I noticed a sick/injured bird in the parking lot on the way in, and I wanted to help. I knew it was a long shot, but after some failed Google attempts, I asked the cashier if she knew of any nearby wildlife rescues. She and two others helped me to investigate, gave me a box for the bird (with air holes), and all showed the same concern that I had. Sadly, the bird passed away on the way to the rescue, but I'd like to give the employees five stars for the non-traditional customer service and for being wonderful human beings. It's nice to know there are still kind, compassionate people out there. Thanks again! Note for any senior managers who may be reading this: The store was nearly empty at this time (I may even have been the only customer there), so the help I received did not affect these employees' normal duties in any way.

The items are the same quality as the regular store, but at a much lower cost. A brand new J. Crew Factory store just opened last week in West Hartford's Corbin's Corner. Prices were great and having the teacher discount on top of it was excellent. When we went up to the register, the young lady behind the counter (Lauren A) was patient as we troubleshooted which email my J.Crew account was linked to. We ended up sharing some small talk about my husband and I being educators and she was very sweet in engaging about our jobs, summer break, and which grade levels we worked with. She was so positive and genuinely happy/helpful. This wasn't exclusive just to us either. We overheard similar interactions with her and other customers in line before we approached. She was just a kind person, who seemed dedicated to her job. We will definitely return!
