We ordered pot stickers, orange chicken, and tofu Penang curry. They brought our food to our table in take out containers. When I told her we were eating there she said, "Oh well they packed it to go." As I unpacked our to go food I asked for some plates and silverware. She brought plastic to go kits and no plates. We finally got one bowl. The orange chicken was a pile of very small bits of chicken surrounded by thick derp fried breading and the "orange juice" came in a separate container to be poured on. My 12 year old was really hungry, took one bite and pronounced it disgusting. He did like the pot stickers so they get a second star for that. read more

My wife ordered Panang Curry Shrimp and subbed Rice Noodles vs white rice. She ordered Hot Tea as well. We were here on a sunny Saturday around 12:45 pm. The place was not busy at all. The wait staff was young females. They both made comments that they were sort of filling in for the summer. They did fine. The Tea came about 15 minutes after she ordered it. The water pot was about half full and was like warm. I felt the Panang Curry was excellent. My wife thought it was just okay. My Garlic Stir-fry was good. Lots of chicken and the sauce had good flavor. The Fried Rice was a bit too brown and sticky but quite edible. I'd come back for that Panang Curry! read more

We found this place while checking our Door Dash options and this is one of the several Thai places available here. I'm general, there seems to be a large number of food choices within a few miles. The heat scale here goes from 1-10. I had the Penang curry with chicken and asked for it to be a 7. The curry itself was fine, but I definitely felt like the heat was closer to a 3 or 4 by the standards of most places. I thought it had good flavor, but this is the first time I've had a Panama curry and there were no vegetables. It had plenty of chicken, but I think the vegetables are the best part of these curries and it would have been great to have some. I also had some pineapple fried rice with chicken and it too was lacking in vegetables. It had a decent portion of cashews, raisins, and pineapple, but I'd have loved more veggies. The heat on this one was requested to be a 5, but again, it wasn't spicy at all. I was relatively happy with the meal in general and wouldn't be against eating there again. Decent Thai place. Not much in terms of ambience, but full menu of noodle and rice dishes, soup, and curries. The service was the best part. Super friendly and attentive, even as they were getting ready to close on a Monday night and we were the last ones holding them up. My mixed vegetable medley came with broccoli, baby corn, onion, carrots, zucchini, bok choy, and a standard brown sauce with a side of rice. Tasted good. Nothing to rave about, but predictable vegetarian Thai dish, and portion size was about twice as much as I could eat. My boyfriend was super hyped on his Imperial red curry peanut butter dish with coconut milk, chicken, and pineapple. I believe he even called it something like "one of the best curries ever." Maybe that was his whiskey talking from the Crystal Lounge happy hour just down the street, or maybe it really was that good. I can't say definitively. I just wasn't feeling it quite as much. It's like the worst Chinese buffet you ever had in the late 90s before the place was closed down by the health department. Real gem of a place offering really delicious Thai food. We are driving through Billings, MT from Indiana and going to Glacier National Park and looking for a good place to eat something that we would like. Other Yelpers liked this place and we decided to check as well. Located at downtown and average decor which is completely fine as long as the place is clean and this place is clean. Nothing fancy. It was Saturday and the place was not busy. We were not sure if we made the right choice as it was quite a detour from the interstate. A gentleman, probably the owner approached us as he brought us water, provided us the menu and came back later for the order. He has a very authentic and warm personality. We ordered food and it was probably one if best Thai foods we ever tried. Really good portions and pleasantly delicious. We guess the lady who cooked our meal is from Thailand herself and knows how to cook Thai food and also is the gentleman's wife and she came to ask us if we liked the food. It was a slow Saturday and their beautiful daughter was siting at a table watching on her tablet. We could not finish all the food and took it to enjoy on the way and we did enjoy it later. One advice; the restrooms clean and well maintained. However, they could use some renovations; nice fixtures and clean looking floor. Food was 5-stars! Great flavors. We split the pad Thai and pineapple fried rice with some Thai iced teas. Portions were a little smaller than other Thai restaurants I've been to - it's one serving per plate rather than sharing size. Service was a little slow for dine-in. They had lots of take-out orders to attend to, so once our food was on the table they didn't really check on us again. Flavor and price is really good here. I went with egg fried rice and edamame and meal was under $15 with tip. Would have leftovers too if I had a fridge in my hotel room. Seriously, very good fried rice. I really enjoyed the flavor. I do wish they had some condiments on the table though like siracha or soy sauce. Maybe I didn't need them, but nice to have the option. I read some other reviews about good spice options for some of the more traditional Thai dishes and I really wish they would add that as an option to their fried rice. The edamame was good. Found it interesting that the salt was on the side. I prefer it already part of the dish, but at least their was salt. The space itself was different. Very open, and I'm curious to see how the buffet is set up. I don't feel they use the space very wisely, but I think they are still starting out. Maybe if it gets popular they will add some more tables and use the space a bit better. I'll be back for sure if I'm craving Thai food while in town. read more

I needed Montana for my 50 states Pho challenge, so I was here at Imperial Thai Asian fusion restaurant in Billings on a easy casual Monday afternoon. Or so, I thought. You know Travel Channel's Man Versus Food? This adventure seemed like that was the case, but without the cameras and the hype that surrounded the television show. It was just me and the big ass bowl of Pho. I knew what I wanted, but I didn't know that the imperial version was 16-18 inches versus the smaller non intense version that most people usually have. I guess that's how it is. The imperial version was around $14.50. While it was pretty ginormous in nature, the server informed me that it was a good challenge that would be pretty epic if I had finished it. The typical reward was a photograph of yourself on the website acknowledging that you have completed the challenge. While in my head, a complimentary lunch was out of the question, I thought a photo of me would be second best. Unfortunately, I underestimated this bowl of pho and ended up not finishing it, despite having the shiracha sauce already mixed in the broth. The photo I took of it does not do it any justice. You just have to be here in person to see and witness such monstrosity. You know it was pretty epic. While it was nice to eat that large bowl of Pho, it was too large for my own good. The overall experience here at the imperial Thai Asian fusion restaurant was pretty good and mellow. At around 1:30pm on a typical Monday, the restaurant itself was somewhat empty, but it had a few tables occupied already. It was nice to get a table right away and that was very much appreciated. The restaurant itself was clean and the decor was pretty nice as well. It was pretty large for a Vietnamese restaurant, but I forgot that this is an Asian fusion restaurant, plus they have a lunch or dinner buffet too, but I ordered off the menu for my pho. I think I spent a good 45 minutes here, trying to take down this ginormous bowl of pho. At the end of the day, the bowl of Pho won and I just had to give up and pay for the meal. Even if I had won, I'd still have to pay for it. The prize was a photo of me on their website, saying I completed the challenge. Imperial Thai Asian fusion restaurant is located at 216 N Broadway Street in beautiful Billings. They accept major credit cards, so that's always a good deal for me, especially when I am touristing around. Parking here can be a grind, but there are several parking options you can have, but they all require money. For me, I found a parking lot that is $1 for the first hour on 3rd avenue, if I remember correctly. There are a couple public parking garages though, but they require money. Not sure if Billings public transportation comes through this area of town, but to be sure, check their website online and come on over! The prices here are pretty good and consistent with other similar restaurants I've been through the USA. As I write this review, I wondered what was offered for the lunch buffet. Too bad I had the pho this time, but I'll try my best to return and do the other instead! I did enjoy the experience here at imperial Thai Asian fusion restaurant and hope to come again soon. I would like to recommend this place, if you are in the area and love the cuisines presented here. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the Pho, although I wished it was a little cheaper and less spicy, so I could have finished it and won. 4.0 stars for the service. I have been a few times on my way home from work, all post pandemic. The fellow who works there is friendly and I found the ambiance to be relaxing. The food is good and I have found the spicy level does change depending on what number I respond to "how much spice you want?" Asked when I order. Soba tea was good.
