We were disappointed to find that the restaurant is under new ownership, and sadly, the food just wasn't up to the standard we were used to. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. We ordered: * Papdi Chaat: Used to be a favorite, but now it's soggy and overwhelmed by raw onions and barely any chickpeas, and completely different flavor * Gobi Manchurian: Previously our go-to dish, but now over-breaded, though the flavor is still there. * Chicken Tikka Masala: Tasted off, as if it had a filler ingredient, with noticeably less chicken. * Rice: A bit dry like it had been made the day before * Garlic Naan: Thankfully, still delicious. * Mango Lassi: No longer tastes authentic, more like it came from a pre-made mix. I hate leaving reviews like this however, people work way too hard for their money to spend it on restaurants that cut corners. It's a shame, as we used to love this place.

I was passing through Tracy and decided to eat Indian. Imperial Spice has multiple ceiling fans to keep you cool. The waiters were very attentive. I ordered pani puri, which is one of my favorite appetizers. The pani puri was crunchy, and delicious, and the presentation was excellent. The chai was refreshing. The chicken tikka masala was average. Not the best I've had. Something was lacking in the spice used.

We came in on Sunday, April 30 on the way home to Modesto from Monterey to pick up food to go because it was Lunch time. First time coming here and we'll definitely be back! I was created by Sorab (sorry if spelled wrong) and he provided THE BEST customer service I have experienced from a desi establishment. While I waited for my order he filled me in on their large banquet area in the back and gave me a mini tour. He was informative and very cordial. The team cooking and preparing the food in the back were doing so with pride. They were all wearing gloves and I forgot to add that the weekend buffet was already on display. Mind you it was barely 12p. The restaurant bar has great potential. The owner wasn't on site but he should know that he has a very good team of staff. The food was packed with care and I thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of my dishes.

This location used to be Dhaba (which we loved) and then after they closed, we would visit the other Dhaba location on Grant line. But I wondered what the next business would be here. We placed a phone order which was a bit of a challenge because I think perhaps the person on the other end had a hearing issue or something as hubby kept having to repeat himself but was incredibly patient with them. Upon entering, it was lunch time. The layout inside looks exactly how Dhaba did. Not much changed there. The guy who brought out our food was friendly and kind. Lunch buffet goes for $22. Seems a bit steep for lunch but perhaps would've been the better option considering we paid $50 for 2 adults for the following items and portions were small. Butter chicken (1/5) Chicken Tikka Masala (4/5) Saffron Rice (5/5) Garlic Naan (4/5) The Butter chicken missed the mark for us completely. The heat was there however: 1) It kid you not, it only had 6 SMALL pieces of chicken :( the size of a tater tot. The container was 99% sauce. 2) We've had many butter chickens in our life however the sauce was swimming in butter/oil, to the point where we could see the oil globs forming and wasn't appetizing at all. I feel we got punk'd with this dish. The chicken tikka came in the same container style as the butter chicken. This one had a better serving of chicken but not a lot either. The saffron rice was not included with the main dishes and the portion was small but was very delicious in flavor. The garlic naan was pretty good too. Overall I was disappointed with the portion sizes. Our Indian food order is usually 2 mains (1 must be butter chicken), rice, garlic naan, and samosas. We ALWAYS had leftovers for the next day for 2 adults. We did not have any leftovers with this place. I hope they take this and improve on the portions of their chicken.

This is an upscale restaurant more like San Francisco type. If I could give more stars, I would. Everything here is delicious. My top number one was mango lassie. Never tasted anything like this before. This mango lassi has Malai dry fruits, and so many other things floating on the top. This was out of the world experience. Then I had bhel poori and chatt which was, very nice as well. Overall, this restaurant deserves five stars or even more. The service is excellent and every employee is very friendly and very efficient.

Couldn't get it in my mouth fast enough! I'm not usually someone who takes to Indian food but let me tell you! Everything was such a burst of flavor in such a non overwhelming way that leaves you only to enjoy every bite. Mushroom Kabob is my new favorite 100% recommend. The Imperial Falooda was interesting to say the least. With the ice cream and dried fruit topping it was a good treat for after dinner. Will definitely be returning again ! read more

We finally got some good Indian food in the Tracy/Lathrop area! We got catering for 50 people back in May but had some miscommunication on the date. Found out on the day of the event but the team at imperial came through for us last min and the food was amazing. My coworkers still keep mentioning it. We decided to visit them again for a birthday dinner and we're impressed again. Great service the whole team was very welcoming and definitely try the mango lassi it was our favorite. read more

The Service was amazing and our waiter was very knowledgable about each dish. The restaurant was clean and table was neatly decorated. We ordered mango lassi, butter chicken, paneer tikka, shrimp masala and the corn tiki palak chat as an appetizer. The shrimp masala was the best dish of the night. We tried this new Indian restaurant on Saturday 5/13/2023 and simply loved it. Food was fantastic. Chicken Malai kabob is a must try. We also had the Goan Fish with coconut and will definitely go back for that. The owners and staff were all friendly and taking great care of us and the other diners. Pretty big place and no parking problems- This is a place that we will definitely go for Indian food anytime we want Indian in Tracy. Just awesome place. The ambiance is so nice, very neat and clean and they also have a huge banquet hall for gatherings. read more

Butter chicken, kadai chicken and one more chicken lol was really delicious; loved it. Garlic naan were so fresh. Gol gappe were good. Bhalle were warm; trust me they taste better cold and needed more masala. Gobi mancurian needed sweet and sour sauce added to it. Fried fish pakode, not on the menu, was really really good. We had to ask for these. My kids loved themmm. Tawa fish, under appetizers on the menu, I guess it was called, not so good, lack taste. Will return again just for those main chicken dishes and some naans. Server was very nice kind but didn't return for second round of water or to ask if we needed more naans. We had to hunt him down. Let me be honest. Their food is okay, it's not bad. I asked more than twice if they could make my food spicy, both times they denied, saying it was already medium spicy. The food came out mild at best. Which upset me but whatever. A lot of their curries were cream based, which upset me, but that is just personal preference, and not their fault. But what really tops it all was that when I placed an order over the phone, the server asked for my phone number and then proceeded to message me a couple days later on my phone number saying how pretty I was and that he had taken my number from my order. I honestly have never felt so harassed or disrespected in my life, am wondering what I am supposed to do about it. read more

This place needs some improvement. We went to support them during lunch but turned off by some factors. First, tables are too close for comfort, menu is very huge and heavy, and upon paying, the gentleman brought his little device to pay at the table. I need a printed receipt to see how much i got charged before i pay so it would've been nice if the receipt is left at the table like normal restaurants. Service was good. Food- we ordered butter chicken, naan, tikka chicken, chai and rice. Most indian restaurants we visit bring a side of rice to go with the butter chicken but here they didn't so we spent another $7 for a small portion of rice. Naan price was high also compared to other places. Disappointed that they didn't offer cholay batture which is what i normally like. Chai was served in a small cup. Will go back once they bring a buffet (at a reasonable price). Otherwise we won't be going back. read more

Literally the best Indian food in the valley. I've traveled and visited a lot of places strictly for Indian food & this place never disappoints. The portions are great too. Nice ambiance, service was spot on, and the food was great. Our server was prompt and attentive, the owner stopped by to see how our food was, very friendly. We ordered chicken 65, butter chicken, fish, shrimp, coconut rice, saffron rice, sweet potato, and garlic naan. Everything was fresh and amazing! My boyfriend and I came here for a nice dinner! It was fabulous and now his all time favorite. We ordered 3 different dishes to share and asked them to bring them out one by one. The room was extremely unclean. The refrigerator, microwave, counters, remote, door handle, and multiple other surfaces were dirty and sticky. My mom's room also had a blood stain on the sheets. We were handed cleaning supplies because the room was so dirty that I ended up cleaning parts of it myself. Check-in was delayed even though rooms were supposed to be ready at 3 PM. On top of that, there were barking dogs and a basketball team running through the halls making noise late at night and again early in the morning. Staff tried to excuse the barking by saying someone was near the door, but if guests bring dogs to a hotel they should not be disturbing everyone else. The office manager was also not pleasant and came off dismissive when I asked a simple question about a 30-minute late checkout. Breakfast was disappointing and below the standard I normally expect from Hilton properties. I've stayed at multiple Hilton properties recently, and this was by far the worst. CJ deserves recognition, but the hotel itself needs serious improvement in cleanliness, maintenance, and management. All the manager said was she'll talk to someone about it

You can definitely make the center as creative as you want and the staff for the City of Tracy are super friendly! I will definitely consider throwing another big event here! The prices are reasonable and we did receive our deposit back after cleanup. The location is in downtown and a quite neighborhood. The non-bread was so soft and fluffy & as for the butter chicken it was on point not too sweet and not too spicy just right. Will be going back real soon. Imperial spice- Indian restaurant in Tracy.-We visited this place few weeks ago during dinner time. food was delicious and the portion size was good & service was fast, Since under new ownership- quality & taste has been improved a lot. We tried Tandoori ( baked )Fish , matar paneer , daal with naan. & soft gulab jamun for our sweet tooth. Everything was amazing. Fish was smoky, daal & matar paneer were packed with flavors & naan was perfectly cooked. It was not super busy, so their service was pretty quick & staff was very friendly.. We ordered the Samosa Chat as an appetizer. For the Main Course we ordered the Chicken Dhansak, Lamb Vindaloo, with the Chicken Dhanbury Rice and Garlic Naan Bread. Everything Medium Spice. To start the Samosa Chat was excellent the crispiness with the Chutney sauce and Chick Peas was well blend. For both the Chicken Dhansak and Lamb Vindaloo, the meat was tender and mix of flavors. My wife and I spontaneously stumbled upon this hidden gem in Tracy and we were not disappointed!!!! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Kamal Paaji recommended some new dishes from the menu and we were pleased to see new recipes being introduced rather than the same old ones found in all Indian restaurants. The mango lassi was super yummy and nothing like we tasted before. Kamal Paaji took great care of us and kept on coming to our table to make sure the food was good and that we were taken care of. My husband and I have been here twice now and the food is beyond delicious. Everything we have tried is so flavorful. I will say that there food is pretty spicy but so worth it. And they have the best mango passé I have ever had. Also on a side note, the service is amazing. I came here with a coworker and was very pleased with the quality of food. I got the chicken tikka appetizer with a garlic naan and found it to be plenty for my dinner. The service was exceptional with prompt service and very pleasant demeanors.
