The hours are clearly until 7PM for Saturday's. They closed 20 minutes early and would not cook us food. The food is okay. We wanted something different tonight as a family, but from time to time it does taste funky, like soap almost? The mall is going downhill, and seems like they are too. read more

The sesame chicken is amazing, the crab rangoons aren't very filled but still great. Collin ate his chicken in two minutes so he approves. The mall kinda reminds me of the back rooms but otherwise the vibes are great. read more

I had been hankering for Chinese food and Norfolk only has 2 restaurants that I could find. Since I was staying at The Holiday Inn Express, walking distance to the Sunset Plaza Mall, I decided to take a stroll to Imperial Palace Express. I walked the mall to help work up my appetite and then went to Imperial Palace Express. I ordered the Imperial Shrimp because it has a little bit of a kick, being a Texan, you can never have too much kick!!! The meal came with choice of white or fried rice, I chose fried rice. The portions were plenty. Enough for 2 meals for me and for $7.00 I can't beat that deal. The staff were on top of everything. Very courteous and filling orders as quickly as possible. Well worth the trip and I will be going back. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is I like combinations with an egg roll as well. read more

Came during the lunch rush, ordered the chicken lo mein. It was made fresh for me and I loved watching the chef at work. The three employees behind the counter were working like a well-oiled machine, and my food came out fast and hot, and it was delicious! The portion was huge, too. I could easily split it into lunch for two days. Not bad for 6 bucks! While I was ordering I noticed that the daily specials were sitting out in the warmers for fast service, but everything else was being made to order. This was my first time going, and I'll definitely go back and try out some other menu items soon. If you're thinking of going to the China Buffet near the Walmart, turn around and come to Imperial Palace because this is where it's at! read more

The worst Chinese I have ate. Order the special Sweet & Sour chicken very blah and an overload on the red dye in the sauce. Hubby got the beef low me in... No flavor at all! Crab Rangoon had maybe an 1/8 of a teaspoon of the crab meat in it. So bad and such a waste of our money. read more

Food is generally good in my opinion. But, every time I eat here, I get sick within the hour!
