I have been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant since I moved out this way. Today will be the third time I've ordered in about a week(like I said I've been looking for a decent one for a while) friendly service, fresh food, you can taste the cleaness of the oil in the deep fried selections, and the crisp freshness in the vegetables. Homemade sauces=another plus. Have yet eat in but I did sit and have a drink at the bar waiting for my order, have to say the selection of booze was comparable to any restaurant and grill(and exceeds in some offerings). So in all, exceeding something catastrophic, they have made a new customer who will recommend them to anyone(and considering I've been in the bar/restaurant business for over 20 years) people usually take my suggestions. read more

My family and I have been coming to Imperial Dragon for years. About 3 weeks ago I ordered takeout around $70 worth. I know different cooks sometimes cook differently but the items I ordered were definitely inconsistent from what I've had before. My 3 complaints: fried rice tasted burnt, my green beans were really mushy, and the wonton soup only had the wanton and broth with a few green onions and that was it. DON'T DO IT!!! The absolute, most disgusting food EVER. Just picked up, based on the Yelp reviews but really should have just gone with the first reviewer who spoke the truth. Honestly, anyone who thinks this place has good food must be living under a rock! Calamari was old and curled up, no breading and smelled like a bad ...you know what. Crispy duck was black and my daughter spit it out mid bite-thank goodness. Chow Fun was a pile of pasty noodles, stuck together with old rubber vegetables. No fun in that dish. Also ordered egg foo yuk which we just tossed in order to spare our poor stomachs one more bad taste. When I called the place to speak with the owner (something I have never, ever done) His reply was "Well, bring the shit back" Chalked this up to an expensive $57.00 bad, bad, bad experience. excellent food and service! first time here and one of the area's best in the east side. we dined in and had a few drinks before dinner! Richard was very nice and turns out he was the owner as well. prices are fair compared to other Chinese places however the portions here are very large in size compared to most other places, more bang for your buck yet excellent dining expierence we will definitely be here again! read more

We read that this was on the Cleveland Hot List and decided to test it out. When we arrived (Around 6:30) there were not a lot of people in the restaurant. We were seated near the bar where some of the staff was gathered around watching television and talking on their phones. I ordered vegetable lo mein and my boyfriend ordered Hunan chicken. We waited quite a while for the food and when it came out, it was appalling. My noodles were drench in a clearish- white fluid that tasted like vodka mixed with ginger. My boyfriend's dish was served lukewarm and had no real flavor. When we got the bill it was $50 for the two meals, seeming very pricey for the amount of food served and what we ordered. When the waitress came to our table, she dropped off some boxes and the check and went right back to watching television. For being so highly recommended, we were very highly dissatisfied. My husband and I ate here after our power was out ealier this month. It was an awful experience. There were 3 young girls at the hostess stand giggling and teasing each other. One who took our request for a table, made a joke to another and walked away. The food was not very good either. We ordered the lettece wraps and the lettece was brown and the veggie medly was made with the store bought frozen pea/cubed carrot mix. Our entrees were so-so. The waitress delivered our rice after carrying it with her thumb in the side leaving a nice imprint. The waitress went for 3 cigarette breaks and came back stinking of smoke during our dinner. When she was out we needed refills and refilled our own at a nearby serving station. We waited for her to return from a cigarette break and asked for our checks. I've had the bourbon chicken and the dumplings. Both are very good, but I wouldn't suggest the bourbon chicken if you can't handle greasy foods. I haven't been eating fried foods for awhile and couldn't get through much of it, as much as I wanted to. The chicken is breaded and fried, which is unusual for the dish. I work down the street from the restaurant and we pick up lunch from here probably once every two months, with 10-15 orders and they very very rarely mess up someone's order. read more

Very good food here and one of the best Chinese options in this area. Great place for takeout but not for the atmosphere. I came in today around 3:15pm, so an odd time to dine in, and was one of only 3 people here. The waitress seemed pretty annoyed with the fact I was here during what may normally be her break time and also cut me off while I was ordering when I was asking to upgrade soup for an extra charge. I overheard the other tables making comments as well about her questionable service so maybe this employee was just having a bad day. It is an odd location. It is in a strip mall and kind of dark so one of our guests was kind of weirded-out but also enjoyed the food. Food came out very quickly as well! I'm still a fan, but... Last night we got the Family Dinner for 2, to go. I was very annoyed they charged me $4 extra to get beef fried rice, rather than pork! WTH! For years I've been getting that and have only paid $1.50 extra, which is the difference between the price of a pint of pork fried rice and the beef, a-la cart, even though the portion for 2 is smaller than the pint. But I'm OK with that. So, they have raised their price. Now, the difference is $2 between pork and beef. Why am I paying $4???! That's total BS! read more

I haven't been to Imperial Dragon in a few years and the last time I ordered I was pretty pleased with the Szechuan green beans and spring rolls. Tonight I ordered the vegetable lo mein for take-out. The weird slime on it was almost alien...gelatinous and thick. The taste was bland on bland and the noodles were not the thick chewy noodles I love from other places, but the thin dried ramen style. In fact I asked if they could prepare it with soba noodles and I swear the person taking my order kept saying he had no idea what that was. I could have boiled my own ramen with frozen veggies and it would have been better. Did I mention that I ordered vegetable lo mein? As memory serves, pork and chicken are not vegetables yet there were several pieces of each throughout. Vegetarians hate that. read more

My family and I went to Imperial Dragon on Sunday, February 25th. We wanted to see the Lion Dance and enjoy a nice Chinese dinner. The Lion Dance was fun and we enjoyed it. The food was expensive compared to other comparable Chinese restaurants, but I was most disappointed that we did not get what we paid for. Many of us were to get dessert with our combination meals. The server came and took our orders for ice cream and/or rainbow sherbet; however, we never received them. We finally left. I will not return to this restaurant. I have been to better places with better service. Our meal came to $118 plus tip. I am sorry I left her 20% since, as I mentioned, she should have brought dessert. read more

The food itself was quite good, but service and atmosphere was disappointing. A group of "regulars" sat at the bar and created a really noisy and distasteful environment with their loud and foul language. The service was slow, and the waitress unashamedly lobbied for a good tip while making us second priority to her laughing it up with the barflies. This place always has great food. I have loved coming to this place for years. Reason for my 4 star rating and not 5 was the service I received on New Years Eve. Granted they were a lot busier than normal because of the holiday. But that is no excuse for poor service and the waitress acting like we were inconveniencing her. All of our food came out together except one and everyone else ended up finishing dinner before that one ever came out. We complained but the server argued with us about it saying its not their fault that they are very busy and that's why it didn't come out on time. When does a restaurant being busy become a customers fault? Then we asked to not pay for that one dish. The server said she would speak to the manager and we saw her just go back and stand by the drink station for one minute and not speak to anyone. She then came back and said all they could do is take half off. In the end it was not about the money at all, I would have gladly paid for that one dish. It's about the service and the fact that they tried to make excuses for their horrible service. Oh and they were trying to rush everyone in and out because they had people waiting out of the door. They have plenty of tofu & vegetarian choices. DO NOTE: You MUST be VERY clear with each item you order that this MUST NOT CONTAIN MEAT. The order takers are not skilled enough to know that when you say this entire order is vegetarian....that this includes the fried rice, egg roll, etc... This is not a language barrier issue (most speak very clear English, just not knowledgeable in what vegetarian means, as stated by the manager.) You can easily swap out a spring roll for the egg roll in your combo meal, but again, you must specify that the spring roll is INSTEAD OF the egg roll. Otherwise you will end up with a spring roll in addition to a meat filled egg roll. Then also being charged for an extra spring roll. If you can get past the ordering issues, it's actually pretty darn good. Just too pricey to have them NOT get it right. So be very, very clear even if you think it's overkill. Very disappointed today. I order take out for lunch at least twice a week. I've had the flu so the last two weeks I've only ordered a small wonton soup and egg roll. Well today when I went to pick up my order I was called out in front of 3 other customers and told there is a $5.00 minimum . I explained I had no cash, nor had I ever been told that before. We think Imperial Dragon has the best Chinese food. We've never been disappointed in any meal. We always swap out the wonton soup for the Subgum Chow Wonton soup. It is loaded with tender-crisp veggies (broccoli, carrots, bok choy, pea pods, mushrooms, water chestnuts), shrimp, chicken, pork, & wontons all in a hot & steaming broth. We get the soft wontons not the fried wontons in the soup. Excellent soup and worth the few dollars extra. Every meal we have tried has also been excellent. I come here every now and then and have always had a hot, fresh, and tasty meal. I like both the regular egg rolls and their spring rolls too. I love their teriyaki steak on a stick which I always get. I'm a fan of several Chinese restaurants all over the area so I keep this one for a dine in experience rather than take out. Great Cantonese style Chinese. The egg foo yung is fantastic. The patties are crisp and firm with good body but not so thick that they get mushy. The shrimp with lobster sauce is great also..only a few places make it like this, with a rich sauce made with stock and having pieces of pork. The noodle dishes are awesome. the beef chow fun is seasoned simply but just right and the noodles are always cooked perfect, not tough and hard but not soft and mushy. The Cantonese chow mein and lo mein are excellent as well. And can not forget to mention the BBQ spare ribs.. Wow! read more

The food was fine, the dinner came promptly, but we were yelled at when we were ordering, during the meal, and at the end because we didn't tell the waitress when we came in that we had a coupon.
