The husband and I were eating at Jaliscos next door when we decided to drop in to see what Audio Excellence could do for us in getting us a new stereo system for our XC90. Ours just wasn't working anymore.. the Aux cable input was broken (and Volvo doesn't seem to have a replacement for it) and the CD changer didn't function anymore. Having Googled "aftermarket XC90 stereo" and coming up with little gems like this: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The radio in the XC90 is not "upgradable" - the "radio" in the dash is not a radio. It is simply a display panel. The "radio" is actually split up into components and scattered throughout the car and all interconnected with the car's body electronics with an optical cable using a propitiatory bus technology called MOST. Many European cars use this - Audi, Mercedes, etc. The tuner unit for the radio is in the trunk, and the amplifier is under the passenger seat. If you have other options on the car, such as sat nav, backup sensors, or rear seat entertainment, or rear headphone jacks, they are also hooked up in this manner - good luck. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...we were a little skeptical that anything could be done. After checking out a few things, though, Johnny seemed confident that he and his 'cable whisperer' could make it happen. We made the purchase and Johnny placed the order. The stuff came in and after one Volvo roadblock after another, many trips back and forth over several weeks (and MANY man hours later) the Volvo has a new stereo.. and a new backup camera. Johnny kept us up to date at each step and wouldn't give up no matter how many wrenches Volvo tossed in to the mix. I am not sure if I should recommend sending Volvos to Audio Excellence for a stereo upgrade.. not because I don't think they can do it.. but I like Johnny.. I don't want him to think I don't.. ;-) But seriously - if you have a vehicle that needs a sound system upgrade - go see Johnny and his guys.. they are, seriously, audio wizards.

I was using the handicap parking space because I needed accessible parking, but the owner confronted me and demanded that I move. His reasoning was that it was his property, and he went as far as questioning my condition and saying he did not believe I actually needed handicap parking. A disability does not have to be visible for it to be real. A business owner should not take it upon himself to decide whether someone's medical condition is legitimate or whether they deserve to use accessible parking. Being confronted, questioned, and told to leave a handicap parking space was humiliating and completely unacceptable. People with disabilities deserve dignity and respect--not judgment because they don't "look disabled enough" to someone else. This experience showed me a complete lack of compassion and respect for people who need accessible accommodations. Based on how I was treated, I cannot recommend this business. I would strongly encourage others to consider this experience before choosing to support this establishment.

My husband went to Audio One Broadway looking to replace a blown speaker in his amplified Subaru…read moreWRX with a comparable replacement. After explaining his current Infinity Kappa system, the staff recommended Focal ACX 165 speakers, which we purchased. Before installation, another professional audio shop informed us these speakers were not comparable to his existing setup. They remained unopened and unused, but Audio One refused to issue a refund, even after we spoke with the owner. Instead of addressing our concerns, they dismissed the second shop's opinion and claimed they were only trying to make a sale. Ironically, that shop had actually sent my husband to purchase speakers elsewhere before ultimately offering him a discount on a more appropriate set for his vehicle. A good car audio shop should recommend equipment that matches the customer's existing system, not simply make a sale. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We recommend getting a second opinion and comparing prices before purchasing from this shop.

I've visited the 915 Broadway Car Audio One location on two separate occasions. On the first…read moreoccasion, I had a very negative experience where the employees that I was working with were giving me different prices than I was previously quoted when discussing pricing over Facebook Marketplace prior to coming into the store. I felt deceived, misled, and was extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this store. Upon leaving a negative review, the general manager of this location, Talab M. personally reached out to me to try to change my negative impression of this location. Over an online discussion, we were able to verbally come to terms and an agreement which would bring back my business to this store as I had already begun shopping around to other businesses. I could tell by how he spoke to me and by his actions that customer service and customer experience was a major priority of his which is one of the biggest factors to me giving this location a second chance. When we finally met in person, he was straight to the point and we were able to quickly get started on the installation of a new Apple CarPlay stereo system and a back-up camera. While the car was getting serviced, we had a face-to-face conversation where I was able to explain where the disconnect between expectation and experience was and why I felt feelings of deception, disappointment, and frustration. Overall, the installation took about 2 hours. 45 minutes of which were waiting for the engineer to complete his previous task and an hour and 15 minutes of which included the careful and detailed installation of my stereo. Hermis, the engineer, took time to assess my car and pointed out parts that were already damaged to me and the owner Talab was kind enough to recommend places to order replacement parts for and even offered to invite me back to have his employees help me install the replacement parts for free. Hermis also took his time setting up the wiring which was very intricate and also neatly threaded through my car's frame and through narrow places like the trunk's hinges to give a clean and neat appearance. He also went out of his way to directly wire the stereo to the fuse box rather than normally through the rear headlights which allowed for more flexible functionality which was an "above-and-beyond" detail that was not needed but was noticed and appreciated. I had also communicated to Talab that I had just gotten a new license plate frame for a special occasion and would prefer a back-up camera which wouldn't obscure part of the frame. He explained to me that based on my car's anatomy, I was only able to utilize one specific back-up camera which would partially obscure the frame, but he also made the effort to communicate my request to the engineer who ultimately installed the the camera in the least obstructive way possible which was very much appreciated. Ultimately, I was extremely pleased with the service I had received not regarding the installation of my car but also the customer service presented by the staff. They made it clear my negative experience was an anomaly and that their standard is to ensure customers are pleased when they leave. This is a location I would be happy to return to for other work on my car and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Which is quite stupid because the appointment was drop off at 9am and one of the guy told me that the car will be done at 12 prior to scheduling appt. But then switched to 3 the day off calling around 11am of appointment day. Then switched again to 4 and if you call speaking to a different guy he will tell you 7pm. Why have appointments if you will just keep the car all day. Called again at 330pm and was told that it will be done 4-430. But now it is 515 and still not done. Just a tint job I might say. One guy will say there's 2 guys working on the car but they outsource their tint jobs to windtech360 mobile tinting 619-382-7606. So I should've gone to those guys instead of this car audio one shop. Which is quite redundant but lesson learned. So please if you're going to this shop just avoid it because they will schedule you for an appointment just to keep your car all day literally and then outsource the job to another company. For the price and the trouble. Yea avoid this place. Better go to another spot.
