I totally have to give these guys 5 stars.. no way around it. I am sure that Johnny and his technicians are cursing Volvo right about now. The husband and I were eating at Jaliscos next door when we decided to drop in to see what Audio Excellence could do for us in getting us a new stereo system for our XC90. Ours just wasn't working anymore.. the Aux cable input was broken (and Volvo doesn't seem to have a replacement for it) and the CD changer didn't function anymore. Having Googled "aftermarket XC90 stereo" and coming up with little gems like this: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The radio in the XC90 is not "upgradable" - the "radio" in the dash is not a radio. It is simply a display panel. The "radio" is actually split up into components and scattered throughout the car and all interconnected with the car's body electronics with an optical cable using a propitiatory bus technology called MOST. Many European cars use this - Audi, Mercedes, etc. The tuner unit for the radio is in the trunk, and the amplifier is under the passenger seat. If you have other options on the car, such as sat nav, backup sensors, or rear seat entertainment, or rear headphone jacks, they are also hooked up in this manner - good luck. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...we were a little skeptical that anything could be done. After checking out a few things, though, Johnny seemed confident that he and his 'cable whisperer' could make it happen. We made the purchase and Johnny placed the order. The stuff came in and after one Volvo roadblock after another, many trips back and forth over several weeks (and MANY man hours later) the Volvo has a new stereo.. and a new backup camera. Johnny kept us up to date at each step and wouldn't give up no matter how many wrenches Volvo tossed in to the mix. I am not sure if I should recommend sending Volvos to Audio Excellence for a stereo upgrade.. not because I don't think they can do it.. but I like Johnny.. I don't want him to think I don't.. ;-) But seriously - if you have a vehicle that needs a sound system upgrade - go see Johnny and his guys.. they are, seriously, audio wizards. read more

I stopped by to get quotes for tinting two vehicles. While I didn't end up getting any services done, I wanted to share my experience with the customer service. When I asked about pricing, I was told that the small side windows on one of my vehicles are considered full windows, which was a bit surprising. I was shown a package deal -- 9 windows for $299 -- but I was more interested in doing 2 windows at a time at the listed price of $49 each, which would total $250 for 10 windows. When I mentioned that, the employee abruptly said "find another place," and walked off mid-conversation. I even explained I was fine with coming back multiple times to stick to the pricing structure, but she didn't want to continue the conversation . This interaction left me questioning their approach to customer service and flexibility. I can't speak to the quality of their work, but based on this experience, I wasn't comfortable moving forward. Businesses that are transparent and willing to work with customers usually do better -- and I hope they take that to heart. Bad for business Only had two things for them to do one was tint and the other was a clear wrap for the front. The tint for my truck was nothing special so nothing real negative except the wait and minor scratch on my steering wheel. I'm not happy about that since this is a new truck and just a week old. The tinting did take longer than expected and cleanup wasn't to par, there was left over water residue on the interior of my doors more than likely you'll have to clean it up yourself if they make you wait to pick up your car after dark and you wont see it until the next day. The owner I presume Johnny said they would replace the scratch piece but still haven't The wrap never worked out. We both had scheduling issues but finally i got the truck in. From here on out it was all downhill, they couldn't get it right and the two small pieces they got on was just bad bubbles and marks. I sent pictures and asked for refund. Again johnny said no problem but now the shop is closed with a sign on the door that reads call or text. If you want your refund they won't respond so i say buyer beware. I'm all about supporting small business in my community, but when they can't provide the decency to make things right than it's a business that i don't want to support. This is new ownership. They're not even called Audio Excellence anymore so I don't know why they don't take down that sign. I went in wanting an alarm. My car was being serviced all day over 5-6 hours. When I finally expect it to be done it turns out it's nowhere near to be done because the technician was in the hospital. I should've been told that in the beginning instead of being car-less all day. Long story short I went back on a Saturday it was completed. Turns out this alarm is one of those cheap ones that make sounds with every little vibration. It is what it is. I should've read reviews before hand. It's all because I went back in the 2000's. The subwoofer is working. That's why it gets 1 star. Customer service should be sent to prison. I'm told to show at 9am. I watch my car sit in the same spot I parked in until 10am then the owner shows up while his coworker did who knows what, then I'm told they need to set up the shop and will start working in another 40 mins. I was told to come back at 5pm. I showed up at 4:45 and the lights were off and doors locked. I reach out and am told the converter doesn't work so they scrambled to find one that does, but the suppliers closed (no duh it's 5pm) and now he has to keep my car overnight. Unfortunately, I had to be out of town the following day, but I let him know I'd pick it up the following day after. Got back from out of town late that night and decided to check on my car instead of waiting until the morning and it was sitting out front of his shop UNLOCKED with $1400 worth of audio equipment newly installed. Grabbed my spare key from my house and took my car before someone else did. If anyone knows who I can report this to I'd love to. read more

First off I want to let you know I don't know much about car audio. I came to for them to reconnect my amp. When he took a look at it they said the amp was fried and I needed a new amp. I took his word for it he gave a new amp for $150 only the new amp would shut off at random. I took the car back and told him of the issue and he said the amp is too powerful for the subs that I have and would need to upgrade my whole system. I told him that he is the sound guy and I trusted him when he said this amp was perfect for me. He said the only think he can do is give me a good deal on new subs that can handle the new amp. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. THE OWNER JOHNNY IS A HACK...SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! My experience with Bonita Car Audio was not good at all and most of all illegal. I went to Bonita Car Audio to get a full system in my 2015 Tundra. I met Johnny (the owner) who wrote me up a quote for my system on a piece of paper totaling 5k. He assured me this was just his notes, and I would get an detailed invoice once I decided on the components. I decided to go with full JL audio system totaling 10 mids/tweets, 2 amps and a stealth sub box with 2 10's. I also requested a full dynamat (sound deadening material) on all the doors and the back wall of the truck. He agreed and added 500 bucks to his invoice. During the install I asked him to remove the driver and passenger seat out so I could have them recovered. He assured me that he would take them out as this is normal on a Hi End install. I asked if he wanted to do the seat recovering. He quoted me 500 bucks for the additional seat work. I told him no, your price is too high. I asked just please let me know when they were out of the truck. I just needed them out of the truck one way or on other. He assured me no problem on getting the seats out of the truck so I could take them to be covered. I waited 1 week to allow for the parts to show up. The speakers and Amps did except for the custom sub box. I got some BS answer about a backorder and how he was still trying to locate the box. After not hearing back from him, I located the box myself. I gave him the info of the business that has the sub box and subs. He then tells me he doesn't have the money to buy the box that I need to complete my system. That was a huge red flag that I failed to see. I offered to buy the box myself just to get the install done. He agreed and the box was delivered a few days later. The next week on Monday Johnny called me that he needed the truck to start the install. I dropped off my truck around 11 am assuming they would start the work that day. I went back the next morning to get the seats and take them to get recovered. To my surprise he hadn't even started and the seats were still in the truck. I asked him repeatedly to get the seats out. Again he promised he would. 2 more days went by and I stopped in to get a key off of my keys that I left. I walk in ask for the keys and was surprised when Johnny was like "good news your truck is done" I'll bring it around. He brings it up front and asks me to settle up the 800 bucks I still owed him. I paid him the 800 in cash and we go outside to check on the work. My truck was a disaster. This is what I saw first. · The back seats we up and the carpet was littered with screws and hardware · Bits and pieces of wire were every ware in the carpet in the back · The front carpet area was the same again wire, screws and hardware · Front passenger speaker cover is broken · No official invoice · The seats were still in the truck and never removed · Dynamat was not installed · The main fuse for the amps were not even mounted by the battery I of course confronted him immediately on his shitty job. He was completely dismissive of my concerns and offended. His response was 'your attitude changed that's why I didn't clean your car". I left his shop and stopped to get gas. I pull one of my door panels to check the dynamat that I paid 500 bucks for and it wasn't done. Now he's lied to me and stole money from me. I went back to get my 500 bucks within 45 minutes of paying him. He had the balls to say he still wanted to do the work but it would take 2 weeks now. He didn't even apologize for not doing the work. I refused to work with him and demanded my 500 backs and he told me he didn't have it. He had already spent it for another job. I then told him I was prepared to file a claim against his business and his response was good I'll see you in court and walked off. THIS GUY AND HIS BUSINESS ARE A JOKE. Great service. Found this place on Yelp. Called a few other places too, but after talking to a tech here for 5 minutes I knew this was the shop for me. The manager was very educated and knowledgable on his business...Sadly hard to find these days. Had my Mercedes C300 tinted within a couple hours. I've always added tint and alarms to all my cars so I've met a lot people in this type of business. These guys went above and beyond and made sure every window was perfect before I left. TLDR = don't do business here! I brought my car in to get the old tint replaced. What I thought would be a simple task for professionals turned into a nightmare. After the failed first attempt I had to bring my car back three times for a total of five days without my car and there are still bubbles in the tint. On top of that they damaged the rear windshield wiper nozzle and cover. I paid $310 for substandard work and now have to bear the extra expense of repairing the damage they caused. read more

Called Thursday to ask how much will it cost to install an alarm/push button start system, sent a picture of the box and they told me they could do it for x amount and it would take half a day, brought it in at 12:00 and left the car to have the install done, they called me back that I needed a module to make it work, I agreed, at 17:53 I texted to ask if the car would be ready today (Thursday) and he said yes, at 18:00 got a text back that the car will be ready in 20 minutes, had a driver take me there and was told that the car would not be ready, to pick it up tomorrow, next day got a text asking to send the alarm system company tech services telephone number and later they told me that the company was closed because of the holiday and they could not make the alarm work, that it was working (lock, unlock doors) but they could not inactivate the "valet mode" that I could pick up the car and bring it back after the holidays. Went to pick up the car and Rodolfo (installer) explained that they could not make it work, that I should call the alarm company to find out how to make it work. Basically they installed a push button start system for 400.00 bucks, now the car key in alert is on all the time when I open the door, the alarm part doesn't work, the proximity lock/unlock doesn't work, the trunk release doesn't work. It would have been so much easier if they told me from the start that they could not do that kind of work, should have looked at this reviews before and I would never have come to that place! Took my 2018 audi s4 in to have all my windows tinted. By they way this is my fourth and last car I'll will be bringing to the shop. Sucks because the owner is a really good guy. Anyway the shop left permanent scratches on my window and in my paint. There are scratches all over the tint and the paint. I had to polish my entire car this weekend and I was able to remove 80 percent of the scratches on the paint. I can't even take it back for fear of more scratches. I went in, got some well knowledge service recommendation and ended up purchasing the 4500NEX and I couldn't have been more happy. I used that finance option and it took them over 2 weeks to install anything... they told me the wrong part came in then they told me the finance company didn't give them the money! Called the finance company which is "progressive" and told me they received the funds the day after I made my first initial payment! I checked these guys out because they were local and I was in need of an upgrade from my car's stock head unit. The guy who headed the shop was informed and friendly, which made getting the right unit easy. They're also flexible on the price of their units, assuming you use them for the installation, so you can choose for yourself whether that's a pro or a con. The actual installation itself wasn't too bad. Their garage crew's always busy, but they seemed to know what they're doing 'cause they never had to ask me much after I gave them the keys. I was a little put off because they didn't have my unit in stock, at first, and they overshot the estimate repair time just a little bit. However, I still thought they did pretty good. Tl;dr: the staff on-site are friendly and well-versed and they ask for what seems like a fair price for the products and services. Job well done to the guys at AUDIO EXCELLENCE. I've always had car audio systems since my first car, so I knew what I wanted when I came to the store. I just purchased a 2014 corolla (my trunk is pictured above in the gallery) and it had the stock system. I really like the head unit...and that's about it. Stock speakers sound crummy, so I knew I needed to replace those. So I decided that I wanted JL all around (front components, rear coaxial, and 10" sub. all amplified). Walked into this place, told Johnny (owner) that i wanted to upgrade the speakers but keep the factory head unit. Told me that would not be a problem. Being an audio-head , I wanted full audio control of my entire system. Fade, balance, and eq for each channel, and use a simple amp to power all speakers. Most audio enthusiasts know, its not that easy to keep when you're using a stock head unit. After discussing options, budget, and time, Johnny and I decided to use an Audio Control LCQ-1 to convert my speaker signals into rca's and that also has individual equalizers for the front, rear, and sub channels. All leading to a 1000/5 JL amp and a W6 sub. I originally wanted a simple box that sounds great. Nothing special. And as you can see in the picture, they went above and beyond by making a custom amp rack, custom beauty board, and LEDs to give it a nice and professional touch without adjusting the original quote....all he asked was for to place an Audio Excellence sticker on my car. Easy trade. I then asked for them to tint my windows. They have a ton of options for shades of tint. Ranging from 5% limo to 85% (typically for front windshields) and in different brands as well to fit anyones budget. I am a very satisfied customer. My car sounds amazing! I took my car to get a window tint and they took 8 hours to finish it and it didn't even come out good. I complained and they told me to take it back and offered me "complimentary back lights" for my time. They took another 5 hours the second time and again! It did not come out good, I think it was a combination of the bad tint material and the person doing the job! I don't normally write Yelp reviews unless I believe they are deserving of a terrific or terrible review and, in this case, it is absolutely terrific. I came into the shop with my tail in between my legs due to terrible past experiences. I needed my window tint to be taken off and put back on because the past car audio shop I went to did a terrible job with bubbles everywhere after a year, they not only did this for me but they did it in less than two hours which is very reasonable seeing as how the tint was so badly placed with the prior shop. While I was looking around, I saw some 12 inch Type R's that really caught my eye. I wanted them so bad but knew I couldn't afford them, when talking with the guys at the shop they assured me that I could get them, installed, the very same day. I applied to get financed for the Type R's and lo and behold, I was approved with very low monthly payments and got them installed the same day along with my Brutus Hifonics amps within 5 hours. My experience at this shop was nothing short of excellent, the guys were very helpful, knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. I can't rave enough about my experience here, I have a beautiful window tint to go along with some brand spanking new Type R's and now all of my friends and family members will be going to their shop for all their car audio needs. Everyone at the shop was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and even more important for me as a woman, didn't talk 'down' to me. Their estimate came in exactly right, no surprises. I was thrilled by the quality of the workmanship and the speed in which they got my car back to me. I have a 2008 Chevy Malibu that has had 3 recalls and been in an accident, so truly my car is not my dream car...and I didn't want to spend a lot of money to fix it. I wasn't sure if they would be willing to help me for such a minimum project, but they encouraged me to come in and let them take a look at it. This business is an absolute JOKE!!!!! Johnny, the so called owner, is an absolute Scam Artist! DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT take your business here. I took my brand new car in to have an alarm and window tinting done. The alarm is crap and while attempting to window tint my car 2 different times, this joke of a business cracked my back windshield. When Johnny had it replaced, he replaced it with a used windshield which caused my entire trunk to flood out during the most recent rain. I had the windshield fixed, but Johnny basically told me he couldn't pay for it because he had no money and his power had just been turned off.
