    Harvest
    Karmen N.

Got the Harvest through ubereats. A mix of quinoa and hemp, roasted Brussels sprouts, a hard boiled egg, lots of arugula (very flavourful), two slices of bacon (wish it was chopped up instead), pickled red onions slices, pickled turmeric celery root cubes, few thin apple slices, candied walnuts, olive oil honey lemon dressing. Nice salad mix, i highly recommend adding on avocado because it's really flavourful (tastes like guac and it's mashed) Chocolate sea salt cookie was just as I remembered- soft and gooey with a crunchy exterior. A must try!

    Kale Caesar Salad
    Danielle B.

Impact kitchen is a good spot for healthy, convenient food. They have a variety of bowls, salads, drinks and deserts, each labelled with dietary markers and a full ingredients list. I had the Kale Caesar which came with the most delicious dressing, crunchy chickpeas, and tender kale. The falafel I had on top was flavoured well but I found it to be a bit too dense and dry - perhaps they weren't fresh. I loved their fresh cold pressed juices. I had the Summer Citrus juice which had a hint of ginger to balance out the sweetness and I drank that thing like WATER! This prices are relatively affordable, with some being on the pricier side, especially if it's just for your mid-day meal. However, you are paying for high quality, minimally processed and nutrient dense ingredients. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back due to the fact that I can make this food at home.

Friendly staff, clean ingredients, healthy options. This is a great place I'm glad I discovered it. And they have multiple locations around Toronto! The brownie is tasty but slightly dry. I prefer my brownies chewy. I did a build your own lean bowl and it was delicious I chose the balsamic olive oil dressing and it was delicious.

Lean bowl ($12.95). Don't bother with this one.

Ordered here through Ritual. Pickup was easy and my food was ready when I got there. I ordered the Lean bowl ($12.95). Got it with steak, spinach, avocado and roasted broccoli as the base. Boy was I disappointed. I get that it's a "lean" bowl, but it left me feeling completely unsatisfied. It came with a handful of spinach and literally only 4 pieces of broccoli. I will say that the avocado was generous (about half an avo), and the portion of steak was okay too (albeit kind of dry). It came with a light dressing of olive oil and lemon. Overall it was bland and pretty much the stereotype of what someone on a diet that doesn't know how to cook would eat. I have a hard time believing that anyone could eat this and feel full. I had to get a sandwich from Tim Hortons afterwards. Looking at the other reviews, other dishes seem to have more toppings and are probably better portion sizes. Don't get the Lean bowl - $13 (almost $15 after tax) for this is almost criminal!

I have been to Impact Kitchen a dozen of times for brunch, lunch, dinner and baked goods. It never disappoints. Items are always fresh! Drinks are always clean! Many good vegan options such as raw cashew cookies! Highly recommend for a hang out, gathering or post workout snack!

a bowl of chili soup and a slice of bread

I had lunch with my husband and 2 year old son on Sunday. We ordered Victoria bowl with chicken, turkey chilli, Oat milk latte, a bottle of kombucha and a slice of banana bread. The bill came to $53 including tips and taxes. None of the dishes was mind blowing. I can get the same level of fresh Chilli in a bigger quantity from supermarkets for half of the price. Definitely overpriced. Service was ok but not great.

a hand holding a cup of coffee

Buyer beware: I paid $6.50 before taxes and tip for a cappacunio in the smallest cup I've ever seen. I brought this to the attention to a barista who proceeded to tell me that this is how cappicinos are normally made in Europe. Funny because I live in France. While I am not dogging on the barista explaining away my issue, I find it problematic that the company strategically and consciously made the choice to choose a cup size and charge a ridiculous price. Shouldn't they at least display these cup sizes? I am not buying coffee here again.

Chia Pudding and Flat White in a to go cup.
    Cody L.

Stopped into Impact Kitchen today during a rare trip to the east side of Toronto. Ordered a flat white in a my personal cup and a chia pudding. The chia pudding was really good! Fresh fruit and just sweet enough. Similarly, the flat white was just milky enough. Perfect! Only gave 4 of 5 stars simply due to the excessive use of single-use plastics. Would have gladly waited to have the pudding in a glass bowl with real silverware for eat-in. But that wasn't an option. I also feel like that single-use plastic container for the chia pudding leaves a lot leftover that's hard to get to. This also opens the risk that a sorting facility may not process this piece due to being so dirty. I'll be taking this home to clean and recycling it myself. Otherwise I really liked this place! Will come back when I'm in the neighborhood, but will make sure I order something that uses less plastic.

Deelish. Fresh. Healthy. Energizing. Good and Good for You. And the best chocolate cookies!!!

Hero Bowl - Hard pass on add chicken
    Alex A.

I really, really wanted to like this place because it fits in with this Whole30 fad thing that all my friends are into, but I can't justify spending $20+ on a sad dinner. I came here for dinner with a friend and got the Hero Bowl + chicken on the side for an additional $4.50. What I received can only be described as microwaved boiled chicken in a small bowl. It was extremely dry and had no flavour, smelled a little funky like it's been microwaved two times two many. I didn't even bother putting it in my salad. When the waitress came to give us a new jug of water, she didn't comment on how I didn't touch my protein and just took it away, untouched. Come here for the bowls if you want to feel good about yourself but skip on the added protein. Next time, for an extra $5 you can get a whole chicken at Costco and maybe just buy a head of kale to skip this place completely.

This is a great restaurant for those who have allergies. They sell cookies, muffins, cupcakes,…read morecakes (including cupcake cakes), donuts, pies, etc. They also sell cupcake decorating kits! They can handle to special occasions with customized cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. Their food is gluten-free, plant-based and nut-free, made fresh daily. The kitchen is free from gluten and priority allergens (peanuts, tree-nuts, wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, sesame, fish, crustaceans and molluscs). You can also email them with questions about your specific circumstances. The restaurant was opened 2018-05-19 by Matt and Pauline, a husband and wife team. Their son has multiple allergies so they were inspired to help so many other children and adults with allergies, which sometimes can be fatal. You can order directly from their website for larger quantities to get volume discounts. You can order customized savoury meals for $7.95 (small) and $10.95 (large). You start with 1 or 2 base, add proteins, add veggies, and top with warm sauces or vinaigrettes. There are hot/cold coffees, organic teas, and hot chocolate.  They use oat milk since their drinks are dairy-free and gluten-free. Their food has been greatly appreciated and trusted by so many people. They have a "Wall of Fame" with pictures of some of the many children they have helped and the children are so happy with the food. I ordered a Cookies and Cream Cupcake ($3.95) and Oatmeal Raisin Cookie ($2.00) online. The entire process was very simple. You would include your pickup date and time. When I arrived, there where 2 buttons I front of the entrance door (facilitating curbside pickup/takeout). There are buttons for "new orders & questions" and for "pickup & deliveries". Someone (in my case, Matt) would come out within 30 secs. My order was ready in a paper bag ready for pickup. I told Matt that I wanted to take photos of my two items before I ordered a soft-serve slush (a Dole Whip) later so that it didn't melt (it was a sunny 22C day after all!). Matt was very friendly and understanding. While I was taking photos, there were 2 other customers who arrived to make new orders for takeout. They asked questions about the contents of the food before ordering. Matt expertly answered their questions and they were sold! It gives me confidence that the food is legit. I am absolutely no expert on allergy-free food so it is good that I saw 2 satisfied customers. Of course I asked Matt some questions about the restaurant and the food. Then I ordered a vegan soft-serve in a plastic cup ($3.95). The two possible flavours are raspberry and pineapple. Matt even said it is possible to get half-half so I agree since it would make it more photogenic. You might think I choose food based on its look! And you may be right about that! It came out very colourful. Together I had 3 food items with 3 very different colours on a sunny day.. .  a photographer's delight. And I would shoot photos against the bench (with character!) in front of their restaurant. The allergens (especially lack thereof) are listed for each food item. The cupcake and cookie are plant-based, gluten-free, peanut-free, nut-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and soy-free. The Whip is dairy-free, fat-free, cholesterol-free, gluten-free, kosher, and no artificial colours. As for taste, I liked it. You can taste the lack of "bad" ingredients replaced by healthy ingredients. It is a treat for me since i tend too eat foods with too much sugar, salt, and fat. It would be nice to see nutrition facts but I known small restaurants are not required to have them. They are so health-aware but what about their packaging? Are they environmentally friendly? Yes they are! The plastic used for the cupcake is made of plant-based plastic which is recyclable in certain municipalities. The plastic wrapping (which is well sealed) used for their cookies are recyclable if cleaned. When there are no pandemic restrictions, there is indoor dining, free WiFi, washrooms, and wheelchair accessible. There is street parking and if you are lucky, free 1-hour parking. The neighbourhood are filled with restaurants. Review 2021-065 You can also find me on Instagram @chuan_chee. Thanks.

My wife and I tried: - Strawberry shortcake and vanilla field berries cupcakes: Amazing frosting, really moist cupcake. Don't know how they did it but the icing had a super buttery consistency, and this plant-based cupcake was light and yummy. - Snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookies: Not close to the cupcakes but still good. Cookies were chewy versus gooey (not my personal preference), and would have liked bigger and more chips. Usually when I visit on weekdays either around lunch hours of 1-3 or after work 5-8, there's only 1 person ahead of me. Basil Box has a special place in my heart. I've been visiting several of their locations since they first started out in Toronto. It's one of my go-to spots when I need something that feels like healthier fast food. Most of my orders turned out to be terrible combinations full of regret that were totally my fault. For one order, I asked them to cover my BYOB in Thai Chilis, not realizing how spicy it was, and spent the whole meal crying inside their store while their staff looked on. During my most recent visit, I was lucky and realized maybe Peanut Sauce is the key to the BYOB. I got their Tofu curry walk in daily special for ~$11. It was so good, I was really surprised. The portion was enough to stretch to a 2nd meal. Although weirdly the rice hardened so I ended up throwing those leftovers away...:( Their Thai iced tea is OK. I feel every other BBT spot makes it better. Theirs is a bit watery. I tried their new satay fries. It's just fries seasoned with some satay seasoning powder (if you add on an egg to your dish, know you're literally getting a sunny side up egg with that powder on top). I thought it was too salty, and had to drown it out with other food items. They have a partnership with Wong's ice cream so I definitely recommend trying those pints out. Lots of different seating, good if you're alone or with friends. It's also relatively quiet; you could probably get away with studying or working remotely here.
