Bought a watch last summer for a price exceeding 4K CHF. Power reserve is not functioning, which I…read morecouldn't check in the shop. Was told that the watch was serviced. Ok, bad luck. Sent an email signaling the issue. No answer at all. Quite a disappointment. Would avoid in the future.

Inside the main store, you will find a wide selection of watches from Burberry to Gucci to Vulcain…read more In the back room, you will find antiques and higher-end names like Cartier, Patek Philippe, Omega and this is not even counting the rings, bracelets, brooches, and other vintage treasures I spotted a lovely Patek Philippe mystery watch, at a very good offering price - about on par with what I have found elsewhere. At first they advised me the watch was from the 1930s but I knew it was a later piece....and after they pulled out the certificate, formally authenticated by Patek Philippe, turned out it was from 1965 - which was fine. It was a lovely piece & they had the certificate to prove it was authentic. There are no negotiations / no offer of a "best price" but they will take a few 100 CHF off for wire transfer or cash. Credit cards require full asking price. The watchband was unfortunately too small and although they could have had a local jeweler add links to the gold band, we ended up passing on the purchase, mainly for the fact we did not appreciate the VAT / export conditions If you purchase a watch from the front of the store, they offer a VAT refund. In the back room, we were initially advised these items did not qualify, since they were secondhand items - but this is totally bogus since I currently had paperwork in my hands from Sotheby's ( i.e., a secondhand item ) - so we called them on this. Then they tried telling us that Patek Philippe had an arrangement where watches don't qualify for VAT - also bogus Then the owner stepped in and advised all the items in the vintage room / back room were from private acquisitions / local sales and therefore did not qualify for VAT refunds because he did not pay taxes on them when he acquired them......he then tried to reason that places like Sotheby's import items to sell and places like Rolex are big companies, who must charge taxes, so that was why they could offer VAT refunds.... but as his inventory came from private, local transactions, he could not. So does this mean you are not paying taxes to sell this inventory through your business?? Would have I been charged VAT if I purchased the watch from you? Would I buy something out of your shop but consider it a private sale?? Aren't you charged taxes on your business' inventory? I surely am no expert in Swiss law but something did not seem right.... And with these inconsistencies, we parted ways. So overall impression is the shop's wide variety and good price points are well worth a visit but know what you are getting into, going in

Since I'm always "game" for a new experience, I was happy to participate! I was a little nervous because when we arrived they had just opened and there was nobody there. However, I soon relaxed and felt right at home, because service was very friendly and encouraging, but with no pressure to try the game menu. I decided to be a little bold and went for the venison medallions. I even tried some of my colleague's wild boar pate, which was good. I started with a pumpkin chestnut soup which I really enjoyed. My venison was lovely as were the accompanying sides. There was a wide variety of side dishes in small portions and I appreciated that. I paired everything with a nice local beer and it was a very nice experience. The dessert menu is extensive and I went with an old standby, a chocolate mousse. It was absolutely incredible. Everything was fresh and delicious, service was outstanding and I could understand that by the time we left, there wasn't an empty seat in the place. Definitely recommend the experience here. It's more than just the food!

One of our favorites was beef with a foie gras top. We were really too full for dessert, but had to order when we saw them at a neighboring table. I especially loved the Floating Island! I want to provide an update to and concur with the negative reviews from 2015 and 2018…read more Be very wary about renting a car at or returning a car to this Hertz location! If you do, you'll need to make sure you video and take pictures of every single inch of the car because they will seek damages for every single nick, whether you caused it or not (missed by previous inspectors). We were already flustered from having had our flight canceled previously, sitting in airport for 5 hours, being bused around to a different airport, etc., and having lost a full day from our itinerary, waited in a long line to pick up our car, and didn't meticulously note every small small ding as we normally would have in order to try to salvage part of our trip to Switzerland. The guy who brought the car out (into an illegal parking area on a sidewalk) at another Hertz location chirpily said that the car was in great shape. We did a faster inspection than normal, wanting to get going, and didn't notice anything obviously noticeable on the body. (I recalled from having rented at other car rental companies, some mentioned that they don't have any problem with small dings/scratches, etc. smaller than a certain size, like a dime, so I unfortunately, I didn't look for really small dings. It turned out that the following day, I noticed two 1/4"-sized dings close to a taillight that I had missed that could have been caused by very small bits of material that could have hit paint while driving at high speeds. (I found out later that Hertz's definition of another level damage occurs if the paint is gone so that you could see the underlying metal.) During my time in Switzerland, I drove very carefully, parked outdoors (and in one indoor parking lot), never parallel parked along a curb, and never touched a thing. And yet, after I brought the car in, the inspector noted the dings and scuffing along one hubcap. While I was driving it, the car didn't touch anything, and I would be willing to take a lie detector test! While away, perhaps I was just very unlucky. The cost assessed to me, several thousand dollars (including an administrative fee, repairs, rental time lost, etc.)! If I were cynical like the other two previous reviews, I would say that this location has no problem with screwing customers by seeking to make a ridiculous amount of money from minor damages and make up for what was missed by previous inspectors. Be forewarned! I don't care if this location happens to be an independent licensed company (as if it would have made a difference when I was renting the car). It uses the Hertz name. I now hate Hertz and will never rent from this company ever again.
