She was nervous, so I told her that I'd get my nostril pierced so she could see how it worked first. We ended up at Revolution because i work at Purdue and they said they were fine with doing piercings for teenagers. It's a small shop, so we had to wait a bit while Pirate, the piercer, worked on a couple of college girls who wanted piercings. by the way, ladies -- you tip your piercer. It's customary. If they do a good job, $10 per piercing is normal, unless you're getting a complex piercing. Don't be rude. Anyway, so once the flock of co-eds was gone, we had our turn. I had a look at the autoclave and generally reviewed their sanitation steps. I'm not in the business, but I know enough to at least make sure that I'm safe. I sat down on the exam table, he prepped me, and marked the spot on my nose. It's probably worth getting a handheld mirror so we can examine ourselves without getting up for the floor-length mirror (I don't mind, but it probably will make the process more efficient). I had my other nostril pierced a few years ago and retired that piercing, so I would say this time was a little bit more painful than the previous, but that may be me getting older or my nostril tissue getting thicker (is that a Thing?), rather than any reflection on the piercer's skill. The kid hopped up and was done pretty quickly. We ended up going with two labret studs rather than a CBR. The experience was quick, and he didn't push the cleaning products on us, which I appreciate. Neither of us has had any problems with the piercings we got. I don't remember how much the cost was, but I think we paid around $150 after tip for the 3 piercings. I definitely tipped a bit more than usual, simply because I realize that piercing a 14 year old probably requires additional stress.

I gave him my design with requested alterations, which he did on his iPad in just a few minutes. The space was clean, safe, and sanitary. We were not sure about what size to get, so he printed a few variations and advised us on the one that would show the fine-line look we were going for. Pablo was also friendly and informative-- talking us through each step. It was my daughter's first tattoo, and he was attentive with her especially, turning on a fan when she said she was a little nervous. We will definitely return! They also do piercings and permanent makeup on site.

I got a small tattoo on my lower leg about 23 years ago and have been wanting to get it touched up…read morefor a long time but have always been kind of nervous about it. My past experience and knowledge about tattoo shops is that they can be very intimidating. That was NOT my experience today!! I first met the guys from Sacred Apple about 20 years ago when I was doing something for a radio station that I worked for. I have always said I wanted to go there to get my work done. The owners have changed and so have the artists, but I felt like this is where I wanted to go. The location is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. There were 6 cars parked out front and I thought that meant there would be a wait. I was wrong. The shop is really large and can handle multiple clients at a time. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by the owner, Travis. I explained to him what I wanted done and he told me he could fit me in right now. He told me that they are pretty busy through April but because mine was simple he could get to it. His tattoo booth are was clean and well organized. I watched him take extra steps to insure an aseptic and sanitized technique. He talked to me throughout which helped with the slight discomfort/pain. We talked about some possible additions in the future to my simple tattoo. The whole process was less than 30 minutes. At the conclusion, he walked me through the after care process and he thanked me, I paid up (very reasonable) and I was on my way. The whole time I was in the shop, I felt comfortable and welcomed. He made sure that he asked me if it was okay if someone who just walked in the front door could come back so he could answer their questions. I appreciated the courtesy. I waited almost 20 years to get it updated and I am glad that I chose Sacred Apple.

She let me know my other options, and without pressuring me to get any ear piercings, helped me choose an upper cartilage. This was $10 cheaper than my original conch hopes, and i am so thankful she helped me choose a piece that would heal well, rather than getting an extra $10! I will absolutely be back to finish decorating my ears!
