I got a small tattoo on my lower leg about 23 years ago and have been wanting to get it touched up for a long time but have always been kind of nervous about it. My past experience and knowledge about tattoo shops is that they can be very intimidating. That was NOT my experience today!! I first met the guys from Sacred Apple about 20 years ago when I was doing something for a radio station that I worked for. I have always said I wanted to go there to get my work done. The owners have changed and so have the artists, but I felt like this is where I wanted to go. The location is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. There were 6 cars parked out front and I thought that meant there would be a wait. I was wrong. The shop is really large and can handle multiple clients at a time. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by the owner, Travis. I explained to him what I wanted done and he told me he could fit me in right now. He told me that they are pretty busy through April but because mine was simple he could get to it. His tattoo booth are was clean and well organized. I watched him take extra steps to insure an aseptic and sanitized technique. He talked to me throughout which helped with the slight discomfort/pain. We talked about some possible additions in the future to my simple tattoo. The whole process was less than 30 minutes. At the conclusion, he walked me through the after care process and he thanked me, I paid up (very reasonable) and I was on my way. The whole time I was in the shop, I felt comfortable and welcomed. He made sure that he asked me if it was okay if someone who just walked in the front door could come back so he could answer their questions. I appreciated the courtesy. I waited almost 20 years to get it updated and I am glad that I chose Sacred Apple. read more

I lived having Sydney help me with my recent piercings. I came in hoping for a conch and nostril piercing, but after examining my anatomy, Syd discussed options other than the conch, because she was concerned it wouldn't heal properly with my ear shape. She let me know my other options, and without pressuring me to get any ear piercings, helped me choose an upper cartilage. This was $10 cheaper than my original conch hopes, and i am so thankful she helped me choose a piece that would heal well, rather than getting an extra $10! went in to get my septum pierced and the guy did it completely wrong and on my cartilage. he tried to tell me it was because of the swelling but the swelling is gone and he pierced it very close to the front of my nose. read more

I do NOT advise anyone to go to this place for a tattoo. I waited 2 months on my appointment just to get there and be told the guy doing my tattoo is out sick. There wasnt anyone who called me to tell me my appointment was canceled which is very unprofessional! I drove 30 miles! Plus I had to give a 50.00 deposit that their telling me i wont get back. I'm fighting to get my money back. I already made an appointment with another place who got me in a week later with no deposit required. I advise everyone to rethink if ur thinking about using Sacred Apple!!! read more

I got my nipples pierced here FOUR years ago and I have had ZERO issues and have never had to return to the studio since having them pierced. The only time i had to go back was after i lost one end of my piercing in my bed and they did it FREE of charge. I love Sacred Apple. I went in last summer to get a bad tattoo covered up--Dave listened to what I wanted, drew out a design, and I got a beautiful tattoo for a reasonable price. I went back a couple of days ago and Eddie was available for another tattoo, which was even more reasonably priced than my last one. Their artwork is absolutely beautiful, and they do everything in front of you so you know they're clean and hygienic. I'm going to definitely miss Sacred Apple when I move! Tip: they're usually booked up, but it's worth stopping in to see if they have time free. I've had both my tattoos done on a walk-in basis, but that was sheer luck! read more

I've had 3 tattoos done here by 3 different people. All 3 have very uneven lines and shading. All 3 tattoos ink have now bled outwards. Along with that, I had my ears pierced here and she couldn't even do that right. Uneven placement on my ears so one sits higher. My recommendation, don't be cheap with where you go for ink. You're much better off driving to Indy or Chicago. You'll pay more, but your work will look significantly better. read more

If I could give this place no-stars I would! Three of my friends got their nipples pierced here and we went to a different shop for tattoos and they asked to see the piercings (we had talked about it with them). He is a licensed piercer and tattoo artist and told all three of my friends that their nipples are incorrectly pierced and didn't even have real metal in them! If you don't want a messed-up piercing, DON'T go here. read more

Eddie at Sacred Apple did a half sleeve a couple of years ago for me while I was still in nursing school. Eddie was very laid back and cool and did clean, quality work at a more than fair price. This is the only location I would allow to touch me in the Lafayette/West Lafayette area, after collecting ink for the last 20 years. Went into this place to get my first tattoo - must say I was less than impressed with the staff. Some guy that looked half drunk, and acted half stoned came out and asked what I wanted. I told him I had a design in mind, a simple minimalist tattoo that would consist of about 12-14 lines, all in black. He said he would have time to do it in like 5 WEEKS?! Then told me it would be about $200 for the tattoo. Now, I could see if you are busy a few days... but to say you could do it in 5 weeks is ridiculous. They lost my business right there. Walk ins welcome? I don't think so. Then, to tell me that you'll charge me $200 for 12-14 lines with no color and probably about a 7-8" by 3-4" tattoo? Get real, it may be my first - but I am not ignorant of pricing. Went to a competitor, They told me to sit down and they could do it for $100. Don't recommend - their work may be great, but half drunken stoned tattoo artists who want you to come back weeks later? Don't think so! read more

My 7 year old's earring holes closed. We wanted to re-pierce her ears through her original holes. The people at the mall are not professionals so I looked on yelp for a professional body piercing studio. Dee Dee was extremely nice and comforting to my daughter. I travel a lot and like to visit different shops around the areas I go to. This is by far my second favourite shop out of all the shops ive been to! Dee, the piercer, is super informed and super sweet. Will answer any questions you have about piercings and any concerns you have too. I have only come to this shop a handful of times to get my tattoos. I got my first one here by a guy named Art. And he messed it up. So I didn't want to come back, my friends have gotten recently some nice work done here. So I reconsidered and came back to get a tattoo. My experience was HORRIBLE. I came in for a piece that the artist seemed completely comfortable with doing so I let him. That was my mistake. I had to go in two sessions to get what I thought was going to be a watercolor lion. Instead I got what looks like a 2nd graders version of it. It looks as if it was drawn with crayon. I paid $80 for this junk that I now have to go get covered and fixed by the person I should have gone to in the first place. Davion from evil genius on Main Street.
