I've…read morelived in NYC and Los Angeles where competition is very fierce (we're talking the top salons booked out *months* in advance) so I wasn't expecting anyone local to come close to the big-city quality I'm used to. The first couple of wax salons in Lafayette I went to were fine, but nothing special... But then I found Sphynx Waxing Studio, and ladies, I'm telling you: Kelly is hands-down the BEST waxologist I've EVER HAD!! Kelly is attentive, caring, and knowledgeable: she gives the best tips on how to manage in between waxes to prevent ingrown hairs. She clearly cares about her customers, too -- even when I couldn't make it in for a few months, she remembered me & the family drama I told her about during our very first appointment. She makes the process as painless as possible, too. There's still some discomfort involved (she's ripping out hairs, after all) but she knows how to get it done quickly and gently. The best part, though, is Kelly's fun vibe. She's by far the friendliest and warmest wax professional I've ever met -- every time I go to her for a wax, I end up cracking up because she is HILARIOUS. Her infectious energy makes me actually a bit bummed that I don't need to get a Brazilian more often! How is that even possible?!!?!? If it were possible to give Kelly ten stars out of five, I 100% would.

She took her time and ensured I was comfortable the whole time. My skin felt as smooth as a babies bottom. One thing I loved was that she wasn't pushy trying to sell me any products, she told me about them but no forcing. I also got my arms & underarms waxed, more or less painless. Unless you are a first timer, then expect a little pain :)
