Prices can run up to the higher scale but with the brands they deal with it's not surprising or out of proportion to other retailers of high-end urban design. It really all depends on what you're buying. We'll likely be purchasing our kitchen counter chairs from Urban Mode in the late spring.

We still…read morehave some of those items and they are as cool and timeless today (and in perfect condition) as they were when we were 27. One of my favourite night-stands came from Urban Mode. Their selection of furnishings and light fixtures is impressive (and well-curated) for a store of this size, and they have an extensive library of items available by order. It's a great place to get inspired, and the prices are totally fair. Best of all, there are a lot of beautiful options for small spaces. I love the service I receive when I go there - usually when I have a bit of a design problem I need to solve. Today I went to find a pendant light fixture and, as usual, the store owner went above and beyond to figure out exactly what would suit my needs and taste. She explains who designed each item, what country the designer comes from, and why the item may or may not work in my space. I'm not blessed with the interior design gene, so I appreciate all the time she and her other staff take to suggest suitable items. Plus, they never push us to buy anything. Urban Mode is a Toronto original and it deserves 5 stars. If you're walking past on Queen West anyway, this is a shop worth checking out, that's for sure. You might just end up being a loyal customer.

My family purchased a king size bed for about $3500 and it was very nice. The staff at the store…read moregets 4 stars for their service. The bed and quality gets 4 stars. The reason I gave this review 3 stars is because of the assembly of the bed. They had two men deliver the bed and assemble it together. It was not done right, drilled extra unnecessary holes in our wall to hold the headboard. Although these extra holes weren't visible after the headboard gets mounted but this shouldn't have happened if they were professionals. The headboard should have been mounted flushed to the wall form top to bottom but the way they did it was only flushed at the top and the bottom part of the headboard slanted and touches the wall. However the mistake was forgivable as these two men worked really hard to put it together. They initially came in our house and said it would be a very easy job that would take maybe 1.5 hour but ended up taking them over 3 hours. The other reason I didn't give it 4 stars was because we had requested chrome legs for the bed but instead the wrong type of legs came with it. Though it's a minor issue but it did cause inconvenience as one of us had to take work off to physically be home when they had to come back to the house to reinstall.

BoConcept might not be on the strip of expensive furniture and decor stores on King Street East,…read morebut their prices are comparable. For $150 their store-hired interior decorators will come to your place to take measurements, and then give you their ideas and suggestions on how to furnish your digs (with BoConcept products of course). The $150 also goes towards your purchase. I found their selection of fabrics and colours to be limiting. Their prices are pretty ritzy so those who are price-conscious should head to Ikea instead. With that said, they do have a some pretty cool furniture, like sectionals that lock together magnetically to prevent the slip and slide effect (which is most likely to occur when you're at your drunkest). Their interior decorators are relatively young, and in my opinion relatively inexperienced. Of course, you have to take that with a grain of salt as their ideas are only as good as the line of products carried by the store.

They were very knowledgeable and are very helpful about all the different features and specs of faucets, tubs, shower kits, and all things related to plumbing hardware. You would not think about all these details until you have to buy the right faucet such as the length of the spout, the angle of the water spray, the value type that controls the faucet, the finish of the hardware, etc. You could literally browse for hours here with the amount of hardware that is packed in each aisle. They were able to walk us through all of this during our appointment and we left more informed. At the end, they sent us a quote based on our preliminary choices of plumbing hardware in a timely manner. I thought the experience here was very positive and can recommend people check them out.

They have a good selection of quality products. I swoon at the tubs every time and dream of a master bathroom Reno. In the meantime, over the years I have replaced our builder grade stuff with Taps toilets (Mirabelle, Kohler, Toto), pedestal sink and faucet. No charge for home delivery, but a $10 surcharge because we are just out of Toronto. Very fair. If you have a relationship with any designers, then chances are that they have a good discount here.

Super happy with their product and installation…read more I was looking for something to accent a wall in our condo and found this place online. They were featured on Cityline and Property Brothers for their reclaimed wood. They are a supplier of reclaimed wood and they can also do custom furniture with the wood. I contacted them through email and they were quick to respond with all my questions. I made an appointment to meet with them. (On their website, they request that you make an appointment). I met with Mike on a Saturday and discussed my options. He was very thorough and explained any concerns I had. You have the option of installing it yourself but I would highly recommend you hire their installers (unless you have the equipment and experience). The day of installation, the installers came and brought all the wood planks and equipment. They cut boards to size and completed it in 3 hours. They also cleaned up the best they could afterwards. Good guys and even adjusted some panels upon my request. Love the feature wall in my dining room and probably increased the value of the place. Check out my pics of the wall and detailing around the outlets. Highly recommend the product and installers.

Violetta is a gem and I highly recommend doing business with her any day…read more This is my second time doing business with her in 6 years and I have highly recommend her to friends, (which three)have all agreed how pleasant it was to work with her and her team. She is a small operation but runs it very organized from the littlest details to making good friends at the warehouses. You will feel very welcomed and appreciated here. The office is small, in a suburban plaza with one try of free parking and lots of sample pieces in office. Her kitchen demo has been changed twice in the 6 years and always looks gorgeous. My first visit, I was simply browsing for granite counter tops as I noticed a sign driving by and thought to stop which never happens. I came in wearing beach attire from a volleyball competition and she actually took me seriously and was listening respectfully. That's how I knew she was genuine and worked with her to finding the right material for my kitchen countertops and vanity top replacement. All went well the first experience, Jerry measures the cabinet layout with a laser for templating the specs, then Oleg in warehouse cuts it and seals it 2-3x before trucking it to your place for install himself. Violetta works exclusively with 5 warehouses in the Vaughan/maple area that you can source your choices of granite, Quartz, marble, porcelain and other. I'm surprised how well some the warehouse staff know her business and her by name in a good way! She really is that friendly and likable by all. The cutting warehouse is in Richmond Hill, in a small industrial strip plaza, lots of end(remnant) cuts for discounted prices. I trust her 100%. At a Warehouse I tagged a beautiful slab that the sales lady said was quartzite and went on about how great and durable it was, when Violetta got the info she immediately told me No, that's dolomite which is marble and will be ruined shortly afterwards in my kitchen. She was upset they misinformed me and wasted time as she knew I had a time crunch, this second time around. Reliable. She says X date for install or finished she means it. She is prompt on replies and communication. She highly believes in quality products and won't sell things that can't be verified. My contractor have a quartz sample (great low price) that she said had more than standard 3% resin and they couldn't verify where it came from so she highly deterred me if something went wrong or needed to be replaced. They may not be the cheapest (fair pricing) in the industry but you get what you pay for here. I have seen some badly installed or measured counter tops, even in kitchen show room, so here I trust them to anyone who needs a countertops or any material installed.
