EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES…read more I will never buy any product or services from Aleen's again. This is what happened: I called Alleen's College Park for a full service custom blind experience. Sonia showed up to measure two windows and show me fabric and options for the Hunter Douglas honeycomb blinds. The fabric choices were easy to make and matched the decor perfectly. I gave her a $1000 deposit on a 2395$ quote on Jan 10, 2014. Sonia informed that it would be 3-4 weeks, and shouldn't be delayed because this is not a busy season. The blinds arrived and a time was scheduled. I had to call Sonia to follow up to ensure the installer was still making the appointment half way through as I had not heard from him. He ended up being 3 hours late but I agreed to wait. He installed the non motorized blind successfully and went to install the motorized one, and it was not in working order. I called Sonia, who gave me the low down on their repair process, and when I questioned her about inspecting the product before it leaving their shop, she indicated to me that it was Hunter Douglas responsibility to ensure their product was quality inspected. But here I am paying Alleens to install a finished product. I am buying a service and product from them. The complete lack of business ownership shown by Sonia, Margareta and Melanie was overwhelming. The blind came back from repair and was installed - however the time and frustration that this experience has given me was beyond acceptable. No one who I spoke with from Alleens apologized for their mistakes. They apologized it happened, and blamed it on the manufacturer and the fact it was a custom product. I would assume that if you are selling custom luxury products - you are selling the experience that goes with it. If you buy from Alleens - you better hope that nothing goes wrong ... It's was a tremendously frustrating experience when the culture from the top down shows blatant disregard for the time of the customer - and only about their bottom line.

After my original review, I did get a call from Melanie and she offered me a battery change for my…read moremotorized blinds, which is nice. Except when I actually had my motorized blinds die from dead batteries, I decided to make use of the offer and it turns out to be the most minimal of efforts. =\ Turns out, all this goodwill gesture was, was for for someone to come and take out the battery holder that's at the top of the blinds and put batteries (that I would have to purchase myself) into the battery holder and slide it back in. And that's it. I literally did it myself in 2 mins after I watched some youtube videos (before, when I called about this complimentary service call, I forgot that the battery holder could only be seen if I lifted the blinds all the way up so I thought it was more of an ordeal to change the batteries). Anyhow, while I had thought it was a decent offer (like a battery change but includes batteries!), it ended up being a pretty useless makegood attempt. It's more effort to coordinate a service call than it is to youtube a how-to video and do it yourself.

Horrible customer service would best describe this furniture showroom. I wrote a review based on my…read morecustomer service experience approximately 1.5 weeks ago on IG for this organization. It turns out the company blocked me from their social website for indicating discrimination under the Ontario Human Rights Act. They discriminate potential customers based on age and status. They discriminate potential customers wearing COVID-19 masks and follow the customer in and around their showroom without acknowledging their presence. They dismiss potential customer inquiries all together and do not conduct the necessary follow ups as indicated by the customer. I visited their showroom at the end of 2023 requesting for a writing desk with specific dimensions. As a result, the associate or owner I conversed with insisted he would follow up regularly. All communication ties were cut after my initial visit and made a conscientious effort to stay in touch with them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ORGANIZATION TO THE COMMON CUSTOMER. CLEARLY, THEY DESIRE SPECIFIC CUSTOMERS SUCH AS INTERIOR DESIGNERS AND THEIR CLIENTELE. AS A MARKETING INSIDER WHO HAS TRAINED AND OFFERED SOUND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MANY COMPANIES, "PLACE PEOPLE OVER PROFITS FIRST!!!" SUCH A SHAME THAT CANADIAN COMPANIES DISCRIMINATE YET USE BUZZWORDS SUCH AS "BUY LOCALLY, SPEND LOCALLY!" TO LURE THE CANADIAN CONSUMER TO SPEND. SUCH A PITY!!!!

I picked this place based on the good reviews on google map. It's great that some people have had…read moregood experiences with them but mine was different: Our project was to remove water-damaged flooring and install new double-glued down hardwood in a two-bedroom condo apartment. The contractor they sent to complete the job was horrible. The final flooring that he rushed to deliver has so many bumps, gaps and glue marks everywhere. Of course, I contacted the company to see if the fix them. The owner, Aftab, showed up at our apartment himself. At first, he denied the bumps and glue marks but then agreed to fix one bump only. He left a glue remover and filler for us to remove glue marks and fill the gaps ourselves (how professional!) The area that they fixed became even worse than before. They visited two more times but couldn't make it any better. The last contractor told me that the first installer haven't done a good job leveling the concrete under. As a matter of fact, he had used a scraper to remove the old flooring and damaged the concrete and instead of using a self-lever before installing new flooring, he used cement to patch the damaged spots. Anyhow, we never paid the remaining 10% set aside for satisfaction but the damage to our apartment is well beyond that. We need to re-do the whole thing. I'm going to follow up the case in Ontario's small claim court and I know it is going to take a lot of my time but that's the path I have chosen. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them, if you can. Or if you want to work with them, ask them to show you our apartment on Bayview and Sheppard (St. Gabriel Village buildings). You're always welcome to my home to see it for yourself.

When we contacted the company, they sent us to their warehouse saying that they will polish it. My contractor brought it to the warehouse and they refused to polish it. They just rubbed some Vim to erase the marks. So at first the company said that it would be polished, then they called back and retracted by saying it does not come polished. They made no apologies of their failure to inspect the product before releasing it. However, the more frustrating part was the fact that the woman (Markham location) was extremely rude, unapologetic while talking over me. She actually blamed me for calling them "months" later (in fact, it had been exactly 3 weeks; my contractor picked up the countertop). I asked to speak to the manager and she said no, because they were in China. She was accusatory, uncompromising, and just plain rude. Beware, the price might be right but the quality and service is not at par.
