My recent visit was like all the others, easy as a breeze and at great prices. Yes, it is on Avenue Road next to Pusateri's and looks very high end, and indeed sells a lot of high end lighting, but they also sell lighting fixtures for those of us with smaller budgets. If you just walk in, you can get lost and overwhelmed with the choices, there is everything you could ever want and more. However you can check out their website and pick some options before going to the store, or better yet their current flyer with great deals and specials and have a good idea what you want before you get there. Bonus! Royal Lighting has tons of lights in stock, so if you need to get some new lights up quick, you don't have to wait for them to be shipped, just go and pick them up on the spot! My sales rep Raj, who I have been dealing with since 1995, is great and I highly recommend him... so friendly, so helpful. Another great bonus! Almost all the lights I purchased were made in Canada... something you won't see at Home Depot and the other big box stores where everything is made in China or the US. I came to this location to rent a truck last minute and the shop owner, Andy, was very helpful and friendly. He was very accomodating when I told him I needed my truck at 8:30am (he opens at 9:30am) and came 30 mins earlier to meet with me. He also helped me save money by suggesting I make my truck rental a round trip instead of one way. Throughout the whole process it didn't feel like Andy was trying to make money off me but actually trying to help me get the best deal. There was no upsell at all. I recommend him if you ever need a truck rental.

These guys are amazing…read more We moved into a really old house when we got to cambridge and pretty much every light fixture needed to be replaced. In total, we have purchased 6 fixtures and couldn't be more pleased with them and the service we received from the staff. First we bought a fixture for our kitchen that didn't work well in the space. The shoppe was more than willing to take take it back even though it was opened and they worked with us to find a better piece. The next time we were there we bought s few more fixtures, including a large one fir our dinning room. After a few weeks we noticed that the organza on the shade was pealing off. I was a bit irritated by this but when I called to complain the staff were amazing and ordered me two more! Not only this, they trusted me enough that I didn't even have to bring in the original shade. I've never seen this type of service. I was very impressed, now I refer everyone there :)
