Even when there were renewals and confirmations in order from the clients doctor, they did the leg work of contacting the doctor themselves which is a big help for me so I don't have to call and wait, as I'm not a medical facility. My client who needs a lot of physical accommodation stated that the technicians were nice and patient with him which I think is important, as I did not accompany him to testing. Only thing about here is the building shares sort of little coffee snack shop, often found in business buildings or offices where multiple providers work out of. This one's shop is just paltry. It looks like someone just went to the supermarket and put some snack bags in there and then that same person brought their coffee maker to serve of some coffee then charge you for it. It's just kinda inadequate when I've seen much better at other buildings. Unfortunately you'd better grab your coffee and snack before coming here or you'll be stuck with the options here, no place else to go. If you're coming for imaging though, hopefully it won't be any issue with staff or a limited coffee shop.

What I will say is that the staff at the front desk and at the intake process may be curt but they ultimately respectful. I work in customer service and I can sympathize with what they go through. The daily workload is taxing to say the least and the constant exposure to people can and does wear people down. To cope, niceties are given the boot and people stick to just the facts. Ultimately behind the facade I could tell that the staff care. They are just trying to survive. Once I saw and interacted with Dr Winsome Parchment I was very grateful that I allowed myself to go through with the appointment instead of cancel and reschedule with another practice. This time, I reached out and shared with them the claim information that said it was paid by my insurance, including the day they cashed the check. They thanked me and said they would reach out if they needed to. They never did. Now, in 2020, I just received a letter from a collection agency with a false charge and had to prove, again, that they received compensation for their work over a year ago. A center that falsifies documents so that they can push their billing hassles onto a collection agency for them to do their work is a business one should avoid at all costs. Pun intended.

When I got upset about them wanting me to wait until August for another appointment, I received a call from the office manager. Although she did try to accommodate me, all she did was belittle me and try to make me feel subhuman. To add insult to injury, today, I received a letter from his office stating that I was "inappropriate" with his office staff. I asked the doctor to call me to discuss his manager's attitude toward me, before he sent the letter. I still have not heard from him. Do not waste your time with this guy. It's not worth your time and aggravation to deal with people who treat you like crap.

This was an all star experience!…read more If you'll recall, my Gastro devised a dastardly plan to get me from the rooter to the tooter (endoscopy + colonoscopy) at the same time. The appt was originally scheduled for July but I had too much going on at work and in life to also have to navigate anticipatory fat bias in the hospital so I rescheduled. I'm really glad I did. Be aware I am speaking only of same day procedures and the endo clinic specifically. Read on: -Sprawling, modern, clean facility. Masks readily available. -Ample individual and bench style seating (yay!) in all waiting areas -Friendly and patient staff in Registration -Nursing team Awesome! Friendly, discreet, reassuring -Nurse asked her usual list of questions and I know height and weight was one of them but I saw another nurse show her something on a screen and she never asked me aloud. Now, I'm not ashamed and I was with my husband so it was ok to say. He's right where he wants to be after all. But I appreciated the care taken - and I hope that's a practice extended to all patients. You never know someone's struggle. -Gowns that FIT! Even though I had to have it open at the back, the cold air never crossed my peach even when I had to walk the unit to get to the bathroom lmao -Patient with blood pressure readings. Fat patients usually run inaccurate due to ill fitting equipment (hence the anticipatory fat bias). They took it at the start (crazy high) and then a couple times again later once I was relaxed (normal) and didn't make me feel bad about it. -Anesthesiologist - Normal, funny, didn't tell me I'd die once put under because fat (yes that's happened before and guess who's still here alive and kicking). Weight never came up and he gave me the same rundown as the patient next to me. Yes I listened. Because anticipatory fat bias. -My actual doctor was great which is why he's my doctor. The team working with him was kind as well. -People touched my body, repositioned equipment, rubbed my arm in support. Small things that in my experience, are not always done with fat patients but go a long way to easing anxiety. I fully concede the bar is in hell but after 2 days of colonoscopy prep I was already in hell soooo. -Great recovery process. I wasn't rushed and I was given the option of being walked or wheeled down to my car. I had a number of colonoscopies when I was younger due to IBS. And I had an aborted endo a few years ago (I still can't talk about that bc of the trauma). My point is even though I'm familiar with these procedures I was still waiting for the other shoe to drop because of how I am often treated as a fat - and Black female patient. The office location is convenient, although challenging with the many 1 way streets in the area. I recommend checking the map of the surrounding streets to see where you actually need to turn to be able to get into the parking lot. Upon entry, we were greeted by a friendly individual at the front desk. Within minutes, we were seen by Dr Menon. After some very in depth questions about why we were there, she was able to quickly assess what may be happening and offered a shot to help with the pain. She was quite attentive to my spouse and listened to everything he said. Before any shot was provided, she made sure we were made aware of what to expect cost wise so - no surprises. All in all a pleasant visit and we were happy she was able to immediately assist with the current issue. Would highly recommend her office.

I had surgery here a few days ago and had an overall great experience…read more The check in process was quick and the lobby is clean, modern, and has plenty of seating. Once I was checked in, they let my husband come sit with me while I waited to go into surgery. I really appreciated this, since the last time I had a procedure at a different surgical center they didn't allow anyone that wasn't a patient beyond the waiting room. My surgery ended up being about an hour behind schedule (which of course feels like an eternity when you're fasting!) but the nurses kept giving me updates which I appreciated! Everyone I interacted with couldn't have been nicer, from my surgeon to the anesthesiologist to the nurses. They made a nerve wracking day less stressful and put me at ease. After my surgery, they let my husband come back to the recovery area and also had him pull the car up to the side entrance so I didn't have to walk too far. We felt like the surgeon and nurses did a great job explaining how everything went (and I received a check in call the next morning). Definitely a well-ran surgical center!
