I took my daughter to get dental braces to Image Orthodontics Pleasant Hill and the dentist checked my daughter. Recommended braces. They came up with an estimate and the estimate includes $464 record fees to maintain the records. I asked them why they charged record fees of such a kind without me requesting dental records they said they have to charge those fees and it is not optional. On 5-22-2024 I asked the dental assistant Lizette to get a pre-determination with my insurance which is Delta Dental (this provider is in network with Delta Dental) first they refused and then they requested the pre-authorization. They did not include the record fees in the pre-authorization since they knew that insurance is not authorizing such fees. I talked to Kathy the office manager on 5/30/2024, then she said that they have to charge dental record fees, and then I explained they are not allowed to charge such a fee to maintain the dental records, and she said maybe this is not the right fit. I received the pre-authorization from the insurance and I am only supposed to pay $1024. The dental provider requested another pre-authorization by asking Delta Dental to pay for "(D8999) unspecified orthodontic procedure, by report", but Delta Dental did not authorize any additional amount and stated that the fee for this procedure is considered to be part of, and included in the fee for a completed service. I have filed a grievance against this dental provider with Delta Dental and Delta Dental also agreed that this dental provider should not be billing such record fees separately and it should be included in the treatment plan. Delta Dental also sent another determination letter determining the quality of service. This Dental Provider tried to overcharge me and when they realized they could not charge they refused the service to me. My advise to you is first make sure this dental provider is in your insurance network, secondly make sure to run the pre-authorization with your dental insurance. If the provider is in the network they are only allowed to bill according to the insurance guidelines. This dental provider should not be charging $464 to maintain records. Since the business manager Evelyn wanted me to talk to her directly in her below reply, and i did contacted the office but they said they can not transfer. For a time I have been considering a consult appointment with an orthodontist to see about the movement of my lower teeth and a space that I had which was of concern. It was per chance I happened to be strolling by the offices of Image Orthodontics. Immediately, I googled their office and acquired their telephone number. Without hesitation I scheduled an appointment for a consultation. After the consultation I mediately committed to treatment and I am now 11 weeks in my Invisalign aligners. I am impressed with Dr. Zahanna Konovalenko, and impressed with her dentistry background and education. Coming from Russia and having to re-enter dental school and to begin a new program here in the US is I believe a testament to her commitment to dentistry. I am pleased with the results that I am having as a 75-year-old male individual. Years ago when I was a young teenager I had orthodontia. Over time, there will be some changes with one's bite and life's wear on teeth. Perhaps it was vanity that made me make a decision to make some minor corrections with my bite. Dr. Konovalenko addressed a minor cross-bite and saw I was striking my lower-incisors with my upper teeth. And because I'm a public speaker I wanted to eliminate the whistle while I spoke because of a lower tooth that was out of alignment. During these past 11 weeks I have noticed a change with my bite and becoming comfortable with my occlusion. Again, Dr. Konovalenko has addressed my immediate concerns and I am looking forward to positive results. If anyone is looking to improve their smile I believe Dr. Konovalenko will do just that for you and improve the dentition. read more

Last June, I started the journey to get my teeth straightened. The staff has always been so friendly and helpful and has listened to my concerns without brushing them off. I made a mistake bringing my daughter for a 5 min consultation. We were initially referred to this office and wish I hadn't met with Dr. Tavalokli. He was rude, condescending, and incredibly disrespectful. His approach and demeanor was totally uncalled for.
