We were told the person handing out the glasses didn't know which case these went with. If not sure, they should provide any generic case that would hold the glasses in. They shouldn't make others make another trip just for the case. Or they should advise no one is available to hand out a new pair of glasses. So, I am disappointed. I love to go there for an eye exam, but not buying a pair of glasses. When calling back, I was told my insurance didn't cover the case. The total price of the glasses was a bit over $500. A portion of it was paid by insurance, the rest by me. Anyone selling glasses at that price should have a case to go with it, even a generic one. Imagine a kid getting his first pair of glasses and not be given a case with it, but have it wrapped in a foil. The manager was contacted. They apologized. She is shipping the case to us. It makes one wonder how much does one need to spend on a pair of glasses to have the case go with it.

I don't have any type of vision insurance anymore because my employer discontinued that from our health plan, so it's all out of pocket. When it was all said and done, he charged me less than 1/2 of what I paid at LensCafters the last time I purchased glasses, when I DID have vision care on my insurance! Then 8 months goes by and my dog chewed up my glasses. I went in to order a new pair (expecting to pay full price) and he set me up with a new pair of glasses and gave them to me at HIS cost! I guarantee that none of the other big chains would do that for a customer. He's a great optometrist and a very reputable businessman. In my experience, they have always been on time! Dr. Shahid is very friendly and thorough and she explains everything throughout the exam. Also, she doesn't take things too lightly and has recommended me to see another specialist to take some additional tests. After the exam, the staff is very helpful and makes sure to explain what is covered with my insurance. The answer any questions I have and give me the best options to ensure my out of pocket costs is down to the minimum. If I order anything like new glasses or contacts, they come in pretty quickly. Communication is great, I get a call, text or email. Lastly, if I need any adjustments, I walk right in and the staff is quick to make adjustments to my eye-ware. Last year I spent about 7 months visiting various optometrists, just checking out their shops and…read moregetting a feeling for the vibe of the place. I like a very particular style of frame and I was struggling to find it anywhere. I also was struggling to find a place that was welcoming. I live in the city but my parents still live in the suburbs so after exhausting every option within a 4 mile radius of my apartment, I decided to venture out into the suburbs. I walked in and I was immediately helped. I told them I was looking for frames and I only wanted an appointment if I could find the frames. They said okay and they helped me try dozens of frames. The lady went through her entire inventory and pulled out everything that was in the style I like (a thin, rectangular frame with a wire rim that goes around the entire lens). While this was a frustrating experience, the lady knew her inventory and knew there was something for me. What I liked about the inventory is that they had a mix of designer and non designer frames with a point to have a range of styles. We found my frames after about 30 minutes of trying then on my face (at this point, in my 7 month hunt for new glasses I had tried approximately 100 frames). So I bought the frames and scheduled an appointment. The doctor was great (Dr. Heimlich). He was a very thorough doctor who spent more time with me than other doctors have in the past. When he found out my preferred brand of contacts was being discontinued, he listened to me and what brands I had tried before and helped me find a new brand to try out. My father noticed how wonderful they treated all their patients and he ended up shopping for lenses and setting up an appointment for himself. The rest of my family is also setting up their own appointments based on our experience. This isn't one of those big box stores where they don't take notice of you. This is the kind of place where everyone in the office works to help you out. I don't think I can ever go back to one of the chains again. The equality of care and service here is amazing.
