I highly recommend! Fairly modern hotel with good amenities and great customer service. Some of the workers are not fluent in English but they were always able to find one or two people who were, so no problem. The breakfast buffet was a very nice selection, especially for the price of 10€. Meats, fruits, cheeses, breads, pastries and you can order hot foods such as eggs any style, bacon, sausage, etc. Also great selection of teas and coffees. Just don't try to carry out stuff like we saw others do and so ended up following suit :D ...because the server was pretty unhappy with that!
In the main lobby is a kiosk where you can get information and buy tickets; otherwise metro and bus lines are very close. For our three days we ended up getting the Madrid card and it was well worth it. It was so nice to just hop on and off buses and metro lines the whole time we were there because despite the fact that everything is "walking distance," that gets old quick!
The hotel is not in the city center but it was worth the short bus ride. Out of the heart of downtown, nights were quiet and relaxing to walk around. If you stay here, a couple tips:
* Check out Las Torreznos down the street. Delicious tapas for dinner and one of the few places nearby that had breakfast.
* La Tonas is a few blocks away, near a park and was also pretty decent. Theirs is more simple food but still delicious.
* There are plenty of grocery and liquor stores within a few blocks, so it's super easy if your stomach needs a break from rich foods or you want to save some $$.
We loved our stay and would definitely stay again if we are ever back in Madrid! read more
