Viga Mar's is a local classic.
Owned by Manuel who owns three terrific restaurants in the area. You can see him strolling between each of his restaurants making sure everyone is happy and business is moving smoothly. The common thread between each restaurant is the traditional Spanish dishes.
This is his budget option. Managed by Jose behind the bar, you'll never feel unwelcome and the wait staff is there for the long haul. If you are a regular you're liable to make some life long friends. The best deal is the menu of the day which always leaves you stuffed and tends include the best items on the menu! I regular the salmorejo for my first plate and the fillete de ternera for my second. I encourage you to try everything, I'm yet to try a dish I haven't enjoyed!
For a refreshing summertime dish try their gazpacho or salmorejo for your first plate!
They also have great breakfasts with jamon Iberico and Spanish tortilla as personal favorites.
This is a fantastic every day breakfast, lunch or dinner spot. Any of the locals will attest to the high quality of food.
If you want to take your game up a level try El Horreo Asturiana. They have a new menu every day that is determined by what is fresh in the market that morning. Best of all it's just a stone's throw away south from Viga Mar's on the same block.
Finally if you want to see the best this lovely trio of restaurants has to offer try Asgaya. It is guaranteed to have you fall in love with their Spanish classics. It sits proudly between the other two restaurants and is noticeable because of its bronze design. read more
