Illuminate SF is a nonprofit with many temporary and permanent light installations throughout the city. Many at SFO and scattered throughout - currently a temporary one at Coit Tower to commemorate the structures 90th with a laser show. The art work is to lift local's spirits and energize the city. I think it was accomplished. At Coit tower at midnight there were countless people there in awe mesmerized by the lights - including my Sweets. Drones were present likely recording video for social media and people were in a very very good mood. Once in a liftetime opportunity for selfies in front of the art display. There is an online map to check out all the different places - its a great way to explore the city. Sutro Tower seemed like a big flop. That was on such a foggy weekend it looked just like a little unusual big bright blob out in the distance. I like the laser lights so much more than fireworks. As a dog lover its something that everybody can enjoy - furry friends so scared on the 4th of July is so sad. Harmless fun for all. Get to know the city. read more

First off, Charna (the owner) is amazing! Secondly, Lucia light is phenomenal! I had a beautiful experience...was opened up during the session to be able to see two new colors I have never ever seen before. I cannot explain them with words...when I try, it just doesn't make sense. But I hope to explore more with this when I get back to SF...or when I convince her to meet me in Hawaii ;) The music we chose for me to listen to was a beautiful feminine chant/mantra and it guided me on a flowy, colorful, fractally journey through sacred geometry, tingling through my body and stimulation in my creative center of my brain. One of the most profound experiences I've had in such a short amount of time. I'd heard rave reviews from friends and had to give this new fangled technology a try, and while it's hard to describe the actual experience of the light therapy, the closest analogy I can come up with is that I felt as if acupuncture was being done upon my psyche. Such calm and grounding after! Looking forward to giving this another go, could imagine it a weekly or bi monthly practice alongside my chiropractor and massage therapist. read more

Wonderful experience. Yes, the colors and patterns were beautiful, but more than that, I was able to get settled in incredibly fast and go on an amazing meditative journey that often takes much longer to reach normally. My first experience with the light was wonderful and I will be booking follow up sessions soon. At the beginning of our meeting, Charna walked me through the thinking behind the light, and our plan for the hour. After trying the light for a few minutes, Charna asked me a few questions to get a sense of what the optimal light settings would be for me. Then I got to spend the rest of my time enjoying myself under the light. Sitting under the light was very enjoyable and relaxing. The visuals I experienced were beautiful. Time passed easily. But I would say that the bulk of my appreciation for the experience arrived in the hours and days following my time under the light. My body was calmer. I slept more soundly than usual. As somebody who has a difficult time relaxing, I was impressed by the longevity of the light's effects. It was also enlightening and nourishing to debrief my experience with Charna. I see this as a useful tool in healing, and complementary to other forms of physical and talk therapy. read more

Sometimes in life you are afforded the opportunity to try something that really changes your view on yourself and the world. This is what happened in my experience of the light. Everything seemed to fall away, and I felt as though I had become one with the cosmos. As bizarre as it my sound, I had a very small window into a world that I maybe intellectually knew existed, but had never experienced like this. The colors and imagery that I felt and experienced was simply incredible. In my life I have tried many healing modalities, forms of practice and entertained many philosophical ideas. Yet none have given me the sensation and the particular insight I gained from experiencing this light. It was a remarkable, life changing moment for me. read more

A friend of mine highly recommended that I experience the Lucia Light Neuro Light Therapy session. I didn't ask her many questions since I wanted to get as much personal interpretation as possible without being influenced. I came into the office and I was given an explanation of how the session would go. They had me lie down and put on some headphones with the music I chose from their selection. I chose the Heart mantra music. I closed my eyes and the person helping me turned on the light session. In the beginning, they had me start with 2 mins and 4 mins to gauge the strength that I prefer. I chose a strong version. They had one less strong and a stronger one available. Apparently, there are a lot of versions for each setting. The initial experience was amazing. It really felt like a psychedelic experience. I had visuals of fractals and different shapes. My mind seemed to be very quiet as this was all happening. They go into a 40-minute session after I choose my setting and I think I fell asleep a couple times because I caught myself snoring. The crazy thing was that I couldn't distinguish between when I was sleeping or when I was awake. After the session I found my mind to be extremely quiet. I had thoughts but they were much more clear to me. As I noticed what my thoughts were I noticed that my nervous system didn't react to certain thoughts such as wanting to think about other things that weren't presently happening. Needless to say, It was profound. The next morning I had the most powerful meditation of my life. I sat for an hour fully resting. Normally I want to open my eyes at various times to see how much time is left. I have since taken 2 more sessions and I feel much calmer in my life. It really shows up when I'm driving. I highly recommend trying a session! read more

I've had 2 sessions with the Lucia light, and I have found that I experience a deeply gounded sense of calmness. I'm less on edge, less hypervigilant, and less physically and mentally tense. It's like I'm less uptight/serious, especially when I'm interacting with people. When I'm around a crowd of people (i.e in a restaurant, or in the mall), I typically have trouble focusing because it seems I get input from all the people around me, and it seems hard to focus on my business. I find that the more I've used the light, the easier it is to enjoy what I'm doing simply because all the extra input doesn't bother me as much. When I'm stressed or tired, I also tend to zone out. I've found that after a light session, im much more present and in my own body. Overall, it's quite an experience. Considering all the personal issues ive been working on lately, it's nice to be able to feel more like myself again. read more

I've done two 40 minute sessions under the light and both were amazing and unlike anything I've experienced before. I relaxed into the first session very quickly. It felt almost like a progressive meditation where I became aware of the various places I was feeling tension in my body and was able to let go of it. I felt myself smiling a lot - some of the visuals were so stunning that I felt like a kid seeing fireworks for the first time. Tons of colors, shapes, different kinds of movements in lines, circles, spirals, etc. After the session I felt energized yet completely relaxed, heavy, and grounded. I felt an openness in my head and my chest, likely a lack of tension that was present before the session. I was surprised to learn that my brain was creating everything I saw as the light was just white light! My second session was just as wonderful, this time with various images of people, nature, animals, etc, presenting themselves in between all of the visual patterns. Again I felt calm and grounded for several days after the session. This is a very unique experience and I highly recommend checking it out! read more
