The temple is open for anyone who wants to practice meditation inside or outside of the temple. There is a nice pathway that circles the temple and not a lot of people come here during the morning or afternoons. It's free and open to the public, social distancing is practiced and everyone wears a mask (even the monks). I have been back to my Tuesday evening meditation group here for almost a yr, thanks to Covid (jk), via Zoom. We still meet through zoom bc it is so easy for anyone who lives far away, or can't make it with the commute. I really enjoy talking to Ajahn Maha Prasert, the Abbott at the temple and he is so kind and easy to talk to. The Abbott really cares about the well being of people and I am so blessed to be a part of this community. I really feel so welcome every time I come here. I'm non-Thai and it doesn't matter because everyone here is so kind and will help you if you are new. It's a really lovely community between the sangha and lay people. I really feel like I'm in Thailand at times, lol! If you're missing Thailand and the beautiful Thai community this is the place to be! I'm so glad it's available to anyone for free.

I trusted Anandi as I had seen she has worked with Kaiser in the past and was offering zoom courses during the pandemic. Consult: Didn't know what to expect. She did offer a one-one consult first to practice breathing and what type of poses we would do and/ or have customized throughout the courses. Course: Enjoyed that the course was more intimate, smaller, which allowed her to point out what positions/ poses were best for individuals who have limits/ certain aches and pains. Tried to join in on some of Monday AMs but mostly participated Thursday evenings. Joined from mid-2nd trimester until the end; Anandi made sure to take her time and practiced mantras and focused on breathing which helped calmed me down and focus on strength. Good for beginners as I didn't have much experience.

She will always check in with you at the beginning and end of the class and provide tips on how to make your pregnancy and labor experience better. She is kind and empathic so I can see why she has a group of long-term students who come back to attend her classes each week. I really enjoy the intimate setting and size of the classes. Attending the Alyce yoga classes did not only help me stay active but also helped me develop a stronger mindset going into labor. Each class ends with a little meditation session which is always relaxing. If you are pregnant or even if you are not and are looking for a good yoga class, I would highly recommend joining Alyce online yoga classes.

The interior of the studio isn't something fancy if this is what you are expecting. More like a warehouse but it is very big to accommodate at least 20 something people. I didn't realize I could review IMC on Yelp but it's a place after all, so why not. And it's not…read morejust a place, it's a very lovely place. It's the real real. No flash, all substance. Truly, it changed the direction of my life. I am still myself, always will be, but this place and its people transformed and impacted me in ways I couldn't have predicted. My introduction to the practice and teachings from IMC was very important for my personal development and spiritual growth. When I lived in RWC 5 years ago I was located on Main Street near the In-N-out which was walking distance to the meditation center. I ended up going to the center weekly, regularly. I've been living in Arizona since that time and I am still very much connected to this group. I come back yearly to attend silent vipassana meditation retreats at their center in Santa Cruz, simply named Insight Retreat Center. I told you, no flash. It's refreshing to support and be connected to a place that isn't part of the heavily capitalized society we live in, in which everything seems to come down to its monetary value. Not here my friend! IMC has core employees but what it really runs on is the commitment of volunteers. I typically function as a retreat manager when I come to IRC and if I lived closer I would happily give time to this place. In 2017 when I came often, it really helped me with personal challenges I was experiencing. I gained a community of practitioners that are serious about the dharma yet also kind people. I've met some amazing teachers and found my personal teachers of Gil and Max to be wonderful people in the world. 2 of my favorites :D IMC is a Buddhist meditation center that has some very excellent teachers and programs overall. It used to be a former church, turned Buddhist meditation hall. Very peaceful place. It's a place of refuge and to learn about the practice of mindfulness and get your feet wet. Or, be a longtime meditator and get your practice even more in depth. Whatever you are looking for on this path, it's there. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Don't miss it, you could easily walk by it not noticing, and never know the treasures it holds within. If you're unsure how to navigate coming here for a first time, a tip is to go online to their website. They have a robust schedule of classes, guided meditation sits, and general information about the place and people. It's very useful.

From the moment you walk in, you know you have arrived in a special peaceful place. No need to travel far and wide for a healing retreat when you need a tranquil space. My experience was simply incredible.. I attended for a Sound Bath, and it was one of the most calming, healing, and rewarding experiences I have ever had. Weiwei, the owner has the most beautiful energy; a truly special human. The evening started with a sage cleansing before stepping into the main room, where I silently gasped inside myself at the thoughtful setup of candles and soothing aromas. I walked to my designated space of mat, pillow, and blanket; and the class began... Weiwei began the class with an introduction of what was to come, which I appreciated. Then came the most magically led seated meditation which was truly magical. Then it transcended into us laying on our mats and she enveloped the room into a heavenly and tranquil sequence of musical bowls, chimes, gongs, and vibrations. I honestly did not want it to end. Like the moments you are receiving a massage, and hope the hour has not ticked by... I haven't felt this level of ease in quite some time. For those who find it challenging to turn off their brains, and step out of the day to day to-do lists, step into this sacred space. You will find your peace in a short period of time. This experience was tremendously soothing to the spirit and mind. This was my first sound bath, and I cannot wait to return. Thank you Weiwei, for creating this space, and curating it as you did.
