She embodies a pure quality of non-judgment and curiosity that has made us feel supported to explore the complexity and nuances of our individual feelings, desires, and beliefs and how those can compliment one another. eve has helped us reveal our truths to ourselves and each another in ways that have enriched our relationship and allowed us to really make it work! eve has expertise; eve is fun to talk to; and we're so grateful for the patient, loving space that she's held for us to discover for ourselves whether or not we wanted to stay together. two years later, we are still choosing each other newly every day. we give eve our highest recommendation!

Natasa Nordman found the right career path for her - therapy and helping people face and work through the challenges life throws at us is her gift. She bring such compassion and sensitivity to her work and that, combined with her knowledge and expertise of behavioral models/theories helped me through the most challenges years of my life - helping me work through the grief and PTSD that came from losing my mother to cancer. I have also seen Natasa for relationship therapy - she is extraordinary in that space too. Natasa is self aware, reflective and is able to adapt her approach based on what is needed in the moment. I can't say enough good about this person. Thank you, Natasa.

Throughout my life, I have suffered from periods of "pure obsessional"/morbid thoughts OCD and…read moreanxiety, and had gone through several psychiatrists and therapists who honestly were really not knowledgeable about my specific condition (OCD is much more varied in nature than just worrying about washing your hands). Due to a horrendously stressful and chaotic period of my life, I in a sense relapsed with my OCD after 6 years of being free from it last January. Suddenly I felt my world was falling apart and consequently endured probably the most challenging and scary six months of my life. After dealing with an obnoxious, money-grubbing psychiatrist that didn't really help for the first 2 months of last winter, I stumbled upon CFCT around February and began seeing psychologist Janie Hong at the end of the month. Meeting once a week up until July, Janie helped change my life and get me through some really hard stuff. Not only that, she provided me with the tools on how to combat OCD/anxiety in ways I'd never learned about. So far CBT has been the helpful and positive development for my mental health, and without the help of Dr. Hong I don't know where I'd be right now. I went from not wanting to leave my room to being desperate to want to life again. Janie Hong, if you are reading this, thank you so much for everything. You really in a way saved my life...and I will never forget all that you did for me.

I first started coming to Andy close to two years ago. After a few attempts in my past that either…read moredid not match for me, or I was not ready for, I didn't have much hope therapy could work for me specifically. Working with Andy has changed my life. I came to him with a specific goal to work on. I never realized with time, so much more would be revealed. Andy sets the stage of feeling safe to share, asks permission on your comfort levels, and gives sound reflection and advice to help achieve a greater self awareness. With Andy's help so much trauma was released. I went from being attracted to unhealthy situations, and thought peace and good things were boring. I wanted my life to be better and healthier, but I'd only known unhealthy ways of thinking and action to be of comfort. That kind of way of life was really self destruction. Now I appreciate and love myself, life, and others in a way that I never was able to before or even realized. I have found a strength and control in myself I did not think or know I could have. Andy is calm, caring, loving, professional and has been a key factor in my recovery in so many facets of life. He has helped me discover new joys and helped me to reveal why toxicity for so many years felt comforting and natural. This helped me realize it was not giving me life, but taking it. Through Andy I realized that wasn't life at all. It's been amazing for me to see and feel this journey with Andy. Who I was then to who I am now. It truly feels sometimes like a different person. How I handle and embrace life situations and feelings that I never did before. I know now I have the strength to experience these things, but I have control of my life in knowing my triggers and boundaries. I used to be a "never me" or expiration date kind of person when thinking of therapy. Committing to things, even for my own health, felt strange if it was something I wasn't already familiar with. Before, I never wanted to commit to something for too long or without some safety of knowing when something was going to end. Health and discovering yourself/loving yourself doesn't work like that. Now, I can't imagine my life without therapy. Therapy changed my life. It saved the good in me and brought out new joys I never knew could exist. I think of Andy as a phenomenal therapist, teacher, confidante, and friend. It might have taken a few tries but I'm so unimaginably grateful life brought me to Andy. He is one of the greatest healers and therapists I've ever known. If you are wondering if this is for you... my advice? Give it a shot. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Remember therapy takes time. It isn't an overnight thing because you have so much of your own story to share and learn about yourself. Be kind and patient with yourself and therapy. Give yourself this gift by giving yourself time with a professional to help you. You'll be shocked how much you see and especially, feel a change before you know it. Thank you Andy for all you do!!

tl;dr Nova is excellent. You will be respected, your time…read morewill be used efficiently without feeling like you're "just another client", and you will have 100% of her attention during your sessions. She has a caring, thoughtful personality and I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't gain from time with her. Nova was highly effective for me: after 11 sessions we both agreed we had successfully achieved the outcome I'd desired upon beginning to work together. I've always been suspicious of psychologists trying to milk you along, and this suspicion was never raised for even a second with Nova; we were done in less than 1.5 months, and I always felt meaningful progress was made during each session. I highly recommend her. --- More detail if you want it: Had a particular psychological issue that I wanted to address--and quickly! I called and "interviewed" 8 (cognitive behavioral) psychologists in San Francisco before coming across Nova. Over the phone I could tell that she was very likely what I was looking for, and once we began working together I was sure of it. In the first session I expressed my desire to work through the issue aggressively with two sessions per week. Nova matched or exceeded my intensity and commitment to solving my problem in every single session. Initially I wanted to have highly structured sessions, with each having some sort of theme, but Nova suggested a more organic, free-flowing approach, which I (honestly somewhat reluctantly) agreed to. Definitely glad I trusted her--Nova's process was perfect. I'd write a "self growth journal" in which I'd document my successes and pain points between sessions and give the highlights at the beginning of each session. We'd synthesize what worked and how to continue or even grow those successes in the future, and then tackle where I'd felt I'd fallen short--and why. There were a few sessions that I honestly thought were beautiful conversations, discussing philosophical beliefs I'd subconsciously developed long ago and to my day-to-day detriment. If there was time permitting, we'd discuss anything new I wanted to address that wasn't covered in my "need to work on" area of my self-growth journal. All of the sessions were efficient without feeling like I was just "another client". She definitely cares about you, and is energized by diving into what you have going on and how to help. She sits directly across from you and does not become distracted and is throughly, thoughtfully engaged at all times. I don't think I'm a particularly emotional person, but I know Nova engaged me emotionally and if other clients were more emotional, I think she'd engage them equally well. She strikes me as someone who is able to adapt easily and effectively to a wide range of personality types. It took only I believe 11 sessions (2x p week means about 1.5 months!) before I had worked through things with her. It's been about 2 months since I stopped and I'm happy to report that the changes seem to be permanent. I can honestly highly recommend Nova to just about anyone.
