Well we ended up choosing La Carbonaia and we were not left disappointed, or at least, not completely. The place is very small and characteristic, the grill is front and center with a display of costate fiorentine in front. I like the vibe. They bring a complimentary appetizer, mondeghili, typical Milanese fried meat balls, de-li-cious. I order a grigliata mista and the others order a fiorentina. The grigliata mista is kind of disappointing, especially the serving size. It's a very small plate with just three types of meats, I expected more quantity. It was very good, but not filling at all. The fiorentina was delicious, with some very tender pieces and other not so tender ones. Very rare, they don't even ask how you want it, that's the way you have to have it anyway, all in all a good experience.

From the moment we walked in, the restaurant made a strong impression. The interior was beautifully decorated, with many framed vintage photos on the walls that gave the place a warm and classic feeling. At the entrance, there was a display of dry-aged steaks, which immediately showed the restaurant's focus on high-quality meat. We started our meal with a fresh salad and a selection of dry cuts. The salad was crisp and very fresh, and the dry cuts were flavorful and nicely presented. It was a great way to begin the dinner. For the main course, I ordered a medium-rare entrecôte. It was cooked perfectly--tender, juicy, and full of flavor. You could really taste the quality of the meat. To drink, we had a Tuscan red wine, which paired wonderfully with the steak and made the meal even more enjoyable. The service was also excellent. The waiters were dressed very formally, which added to the elegant atmosphere of the restaurant. They were clearly experienced, very professional, and always ready to help with recommendations or questions. Overall, our dinner was memorable.
