They have... * Dry-aged steaks just waiting for you to indulge. * A huge assortment of preserved slice-able meats waiting for you to ask for a serving. * Seasoned and prepared meats for those unwilling to do it themselves. * More cheese varieties than I know what to do with. I decided picking randomly was the correct approach. It worked! * Fresh vegetarian pasta to break up the potential meat monotony. They were more than patient with my poor Italian pronunciation and let me pick out a few items to enjoy. I don't think tourists normally go here because most tourists stay at a hotel and can't enjoy a fresh self-prepared meal. I, on the other hand, have an apartment with a kitchen and we stocked up for a week of late night snacks!

We had a bit of a miscommunication where he packed up everything for us to go (so sorry!!) but we ended up wanting to sit outside and he was so kind and offered to plate everything for us and turn on the lighting and heating for us while we ate! So sweet & we appreciated it since it was our first day in Milan. I do have to recommend trying the Gorgonzola & any of their other fresh salads with olive oil. We had the shrimp seafood salad, and it was refreshing and a palate cleanser for the Gorgonzola and prosciutto we got. The Gorgonzola is the best I've ever tried. Overall pretty mild in flavor, but the green parts had more of a wasabi kick is the best way I could describe it which surprised me! I enjoyed it though. Wished we could've taken some home but Milan was the middle of our trip =') We loved their olive oil so much we came back to buy some small bottles just to show our appreciation and saw the sweet grandpa again! I would be a regular here if I lived in Milan! Grazie mille!!

Whenever I want to make a whole roast chicken I make sure to come here. It's just not the same and my bf can always tell the difference even if I try to fib! Our family loves to use the polpette to make mini hamburgers. Only one of the guys speaks a little English, so I suggest prepping your Italian or better yet grab an Italian to help you. The place is tiny and often has as least a couple people in line, be prepared for a wait of up to 15 mins. Their also pricey and only accept cash. But it's all worth it!

The main building has glass windows so you can see some of the store fronts inside. Walking in around 9:30am on a Saturday morning there were a handful of early shoppers though not enough to make it crowded. There are about 20-25 total vendors, butchers, grocers, bakeries, convenience, florist, juice bar and clothing/accessories shops. A couple ethnic stores (Latin American and E Asian) from what I could tell. This is located in a less touristy part of town so prices looked overall pretty reasonable. There's not a lot of places to sit and enjoy any drinks/take away food, though there are a couple picnic tables outside and you could potentially pick somewhere along some stairs in the open square area next to the market if you need.

The manager recommended two Tuscans, but I had had Antinori last year in Tuscany so I went with the other. Pretty high markups on the wines though, especially given how affordable wine is in the country and even in restaurants. That said, the "balòn" glass was hilarious. I want a full set. Tonino, the manager, loved us and gave us glasses of homemade limoncello that he himself made - and put truffles in our tiramisu. I mean - why not? Lovely atmosphere, decor, company, and dinner. Would definitely revisit!

The wine pairing is not listed in the menu but when asked if they could do something to accompany the tasting menu they were more than happy to do it. Our host was a man with a beard in his mid-late 30's I don't believe I caught his name. He spoke great French, English and of course Italian. He was very nice. He explained the dishes, wines, and spoke about the origin of the truffles, how they find them, etc. We asked him questions about wine, what he thought about Italian wine vs French wine, where he studied, etc and he was really charming and funny and a great host. He really added a nice touch to the night. The food was really good and diverse. I had a different taste and texture in my mouth with each dish. It's hard to explain each dish but I wasn't dissatisfied with anything. The photos are in order of appearance. My favorite was maybe the foie gras (2nd) then perhaps the swordfish with orange tomato's (4th)...or maybe the shrimp ravioli (3rd)-my friends favorite. The servers were all very nice and polite, and gave a very welcoming vibe. Not pretentious at all and I didn't feel rushed to pay and leave or anything even though I left maybe 40min before closing. The price I feel is justified. I've paid more for a lesser experience and considering how everything was covered with truffles and how difficult they can be to create a restaurant around I don't feel cheated by the price. I would happily go back and recommend that you check this place out.

Fortuitous find when I overshot my way towards Universo Vegano restaurant…read more Conveniently near the Moscova Metro. They had a huge display case of vegan mock meats and cheeses. They had several soon to expire products at 50% discount. The sold dried goods including ingredients for baking and incense upstairs. Downstairs, offerings included ingredients for Halloween/Thanksgiving, gluten free and other special chocolates, the aforementioned refrigerated section, and a shelf full of non-refrigerated vegan mock meats (roast 'beef' slices, veggie 'burger', veggie 'roast'). The prices were higher than what I found for comparable seitan products in Germany (they had a similar sized lollipop shaped wurst for 2x the German price) and in the US; however, they feature unique brands I have not seen in either country. Buying the discounted products, though, made it a comparative bargain! Also, I was impressed they even had wurst of both types (straight and spiral).

(Then I realized that if I wanted to cook it, first I had to learn how, but that's another story...) So after some research I discovered there was a minimarket chain in town that had some Mexican products (mostly canned goods). I used to buy cans and cans of La Costeña sauces, beans and chipotle, sour cream (almost unknown in Italy), pricey avocados, etc. I also discovered they have lots of foreign products like curries, american, oriental, arabic and mediterranean ingredients. Betty Crockers cake, muffins and pancakes mixes, Colman's products, jams, sushi rice, lots of spices, etc. But what people mostly come here for are the bio/natural products, from beauty stuff to gluten-free foods, fresh fruit and veggies, frozen specialties, etc. Not giving it 5 stars because prices are a bit high (of course, it's one of the only places that has this variety so they charge you for that), and the last times I have been there I noticed they didn't have many Mexican ingredients left (no more salsa verde? c'mon, I can't be the only one who buys it!). The shop has been under construction for some months, while it remained open for business, it was impossible to shop with the dust, noise and the smell of burnt iron, hopefully it's over by now and they have more space and more products!
