Our kind waiter bright over water, bread and breadsticks. No olive oil, no butter just dry. For our lunch I decided on the cacio e Pepe and Lisa opted for the ragú. Both were delicious. For dessert we were told the owners mom made lemon cake so that was a no brainer. It was fabulous and paired well with espresso. Our waiter also brought us Amaro. It's a licorice like liqueur enjoyed as a digestif. Definitely an acquired taste that reminded me of Aguardiente. Overall the service and staff were exceptional and I would return if ever in a Vatican City again.

The reason I wanted to try this place was because I was craving lasagna, and the reviews had it as the best. The lasagna was decent, but I felt it could have had bit more seasoning for my taste. My husband ordered the carbonara pasta, which was really good. My favorite dish was the tiramisu, which was delicious! The restaurant has a lovely ambiance with pretty paintings and chandeliers. The service was also excellent. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. However, the food did take a bit to arrive, which I think could be improved. As I mentioned, it's a great place for gluten-free diners, but if you're not, you might find a better option elsewhere.

Perks of this spot…read moreare that it's affordable with each pasta bowl costing about €7.50 and the bowls are fairly large. Even though the line is long, you can get your meal quickly because the team works very fast and efficiently. The spot has limited seating so most people eat outside, either standing up or sitting on the curb. Menu is limited to 6 options and everything is handmade, so you can't go wrong here. The noodles have a nice, thick, chewy texture and come with plenty of sauce. Only downside for me was that most dishes didn't come with meat and I usually like to have a little with each meal.
