I loved the Mimosa Cake and the lovely carrying box. Fresh strawberries with a unique and lovely texture. Call ahead the day prior for special cakes. www.ilgianfornaio.com

When you get inside, you'll notice it looks like any other bakery. However, this one's very special and I'm so glad my family and I found this place as we were walking around the beautiful city. We ordered many different things, mainly just different flavors of the mini pizzas they sold there. I definitely suggest getting one of the mini pizzas because they're delicious for a great price! We got the regular cheese-covered ones, ones with zucchini, mushrooms, and tomatoes. They were so flavorful and they all tasted warm and fresh! I'll be back here if I ever visit Rome again!

We took our kids here two days in a row we loved it so much! Pizza is to die for... Love that you tell them how much you want and that's all you pay for. Stack up your plate with all different baked foods. Chili pizza will blow your brains out, mushroom was excellent, margherita was out this world. And don't forget the little oil & salt rolls. My wife would normally kill me for saying it, but given it was Rome it must be known that they've hand selected the cutest waitresses in town. My brother in law would've been in heaven.

If you want an Italian cafeteria experience must try this place. Simply point to items you would like - as they are displayed in large platters behind a counter . Once the plate is filled the counter person will give you a ticket detailing what you have on the plate - take the ticket to a cash register nearby and pay. Back to the counter with your receipt and pick up your plate. Find a table and Enjoy!!! Food was delicious.

Ham, spicy pesto, pancetta and mushroom, cherry tomato and black olive - all delicious pizza!

Fresh squeezed juice and the pastries are tasty. Outdoor seating available as well. I had the Cannelloni and we tried the Ravioli as well. Both were delicious. If you want to see how quickly a pleasant evening in Rome can turn into a ridiculous public scene…read more-- come here. On International Women's Day we stopped here with my parents and our 4-year-old daughter after walking around Trastevere. We ordered espresso for everyone and sat outside. Our daughter had a small tiramisu we bought at another shop a few minutes earlier. Within seconds the owner stormed out and started shouting at us aggressively about the tiramisu. Not explaining. Not asking politely. Just yelling. We tried to explain that we had ordered drinks and were paying customers, but instead of behaving like someone who runs a hospitality business, he escalated the situation into a loud public confrontation. Then his younger partner came out and joined the shouting. Two grown men screaming at a family with a small child in the middle of a tourist street. At that point our 4-year-old daughter started crying because she was scared by the way they were yelling at us. What was the reaction of the owner when he saw a child crying? Did he calm down? Did he apologize? Did he show even basic human decency? No. He kept yelling and demanding we leave. Rome is one of the most welcoming cities in the world and during our entire trip we met wonderful, kind people everywhere. This place was the only exception. If you are a tourist or a family with children, do yourself a favor and choose literally any other café in Trastevere. There are hundreds of them. Hospitality clearly isn't practiced here.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the Piazza, Osteria del Pegno offers a quaint, romantic, authentic Italian experience. Their pastas are absolutely delicious - particularly the pesto and truffle pastas. I remembered their pastas being the best I've ever had and have talked about it often throughout the years. Our visit back yesterday didn't disappoint. Additionally, we also enjoyed their cheeseboard with 3 different delicious cheeses and a wonderful tiramisu dessert. We are returning again before we depart Italy because we love it so much. We brought our kids here this time and it was a highlight for them as well. We highly recommend you come to Osteria del Pegno if you enjoy authentic Italian pasta and want a quiet, charming dining experience.
