I will continue to repost my honest experience. My experience as a floral vendor at this venue was unprofessional and unsafe, and it will be my first and last time servicing this location. I came to set up for a children's event. Upon arrival, valet told me I could not drive my van up the hill and I would have to surrender my keys to their staff. I explained my van is insured and registered to my driver only for liability reasons and I cannot hand over keys. I was still refused entry. We were given one small cart and told we had 20 minutes to move our vehicle or we would be locked in. With no assistance or guidance, my staff and I had to unload and carry heavy floral arrangements up a steep hill on foot. It was physically exhausting - I was out of breath, dizzy, and my heart was pounding. When I raised this as a safety concern, the manager on-site was dismissive and hostile and told me it was "not a big deal" and that I was being disrespectful. The same lack of assistance happened when we were leaving. Forcing vendors to surrender vehicle keys or carry heavy loads up a steep hill under a time threat is unacceptable and unsafe. The gardens are impeccably maintained with so much variety.. stunning rose gardens, one of the largest camellia collections in the world, and the highlight for us was the Japanese Garden. We brought the kids and they had a blast riding the little train (super fun and a great way to see more of the grounds). The staff was friendly, the paths are easy to walk, and there are plenty of benches to sit and soak it all in. It's the perfect spot for a relaxing day date, family outing, or even a peaceful solo walk. Admission is reasonable and totally worth it. Between the entry fee, limited access to parts of the property, and extra charges for attractions inside, the experience didn't quite feel like a good value. I hope this feedback is taken constructively because the gardens have a lot of potential. Better maintenance, ensuring guests have access to the advertised areas, or adjusting pricing when sections are unavailable would make for a much better visitor experience.
