    Hamachi it's terrible and fishy

This is not good Japanese food. I don't know how they have all these good reviews. I've been to Japan and live in Southern California so we have good Japanese food. This was a rip off in full fashion. We started with black cod gyoza which was not cooked traditionally the wrapper was still too tough and doughy. Wife ordered the hamachi which was kinda fishy and seasoned with olive oil pearls and tomato bread. We each ordered a roll. I got the lobster roll which didn't mention that it was tempura fried which destroyed the lobster. Wife ordered the tempura shrimp roll. They were okay but not worth the 19€. We each ordered water and got our bill 75€! Stay away I'm so upset I ate here.

Very good sushi restaurant. The miso soup is on point. The udon is cooked to perfection. Finally the cheese cake is ridiculous.

We ordered salmon tartar and plenty of sushi dishes: all were amazing . Sushi dishes aren't the typical ones you can find in every Japanese restaurant. All dishes have a mix of flavor. Moreover the place is on Born square, so after lunch/dinner you can enjoy a drink in fancy bar & pubs.

Sushi in Barcelona, yes :-)! Really didn't expect this as we were just walking by but probably the best sushi I've had in a while.. iKibana has the right mix of trendy and Asian style interior, the service is good, the wines are fine and the Sushi is awesome!! They have 'surprising' dishes on the menu like Maki with Picanha (Brazilian cut meat) and roasted duck breast. Will definitely go here next time in Barca!

    I recommend Gunkan Toro!

Haven't tasted the food yet considering that I have been waiting 30min for simple nigiri. The service needs a lot of work. They may have bit off more than they can chew. I suggest either reorganizing the staff or setting up less tables.

Best sushi in barcelona! Highly recommend the salmon tartar as an appetizer and a passion fruit mojito! The service was the best I have experienced in Barcelona.

Paulista - assorted sashimi, rolls and nigiri (28 pieces).

Sashimi and salmon tartar were spectacular! We have ordered Paulista plate (with rolls, nigiri and sashimi - 28 pieces altogether) and tartar - for two people this was a good deal for dinner, but I think we could have easily ordered another appetizer and be just as fine. I should also mention amazing service. When we have arrived (without reservation on Saturday night) they were full - but manager quickly arranged one more table outside for us and we were served just as quick as we were seated. Our waitress was a super sweet girl who recommended to order Paulista and also brought us double portion of fresh wasabi, which by the way was absolutely delicious and even spicier than the ordinary paste-like stuff. I have also heard that they have amazing cocktails - do not know, but everyone except for us seemed to be ordering mojitos to drink. I did not particularly like the interior design- it seemed too posh and pretentious (my opinion). And music was very loud. When I am going there next time-and I definitely am- I would still prefer outside sitting.

Good location, fast service, fresh fish. For a large table the service was excellent, food came out fast, sushi was good.

Honestly, just go to the Original Ikibana at diagonal. This one is not anywhere NEAR good. I was EXTREMELY disappointed.

I arrived for a late lunch (according to American standards, of course, as it was probably perfect timing for the rest of the Spaniards in the restaurant) and was quickly seated. I had gotten my filling of tapas during my stay in Barcelona and needed a bit of palate cleanser with a hearty, flavorful bao filled with meat -- a bit like an Asian taco, if you will. I stood firm in my order despite it feeling like heresy as "ramen" is in the name of the restaurant and a quick look around me revealed that most of the tables were definitely enjoying their ramen. Still, with things like pad thai and kimchi on the menu, I felt like I had permission to indulge in my cravings. I dug into a starter of some chicken karaage (Japanese fried chicken) that came with some homemade teriyaki sauce on the side. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the teriyaki sauce complemented its flavor instead of being too overwhelming. But the order did seem a bit on the pricier side at €7.50, which is basically the same price as one of the baos, so I think I would've ordered an extra one instead. As for the baos, I got three: the pork, the chicken, and the shrimp. They all tasted very similar to each other -- the pickled cucumber and carrot on the pork and the sauces on the shrimp did most of the heavy lifting, so I barely tasted the difference in meat. There are other places that ofter this bao delicacy in Barcelona (my reco would be Boa Bao) so come to Koku Kitchen for the ramen and gyoza instead. I did appreciate the decor of the place, especially the flower placed in a brown apothecary-esque bottle and the dim, hip vibes of the bathroom.

Well I was curious to see how good or bad ramen place would be in Spain. Well curiosity killed the cat and my wallet for wasting my money . Restaurant was packed. I thought we would wait but was asked to follow one of the staff. Went downstairs and saw another dining room which was cool. Also packed with people so I was little excited to taste the food. Ordered angry chicken bao.. Don't know why it was angry because it wasn't spicy at all. Took a bite and was trying to figure out what the sauce was.. Little taste of peanut. Bao was alright but not worth the money for how much it cost for one. Then got the pork gyoza. Not bad, not much flavor but wasn't horrible. Then the main dish I ordered spicy miso ramen and pad Thai.. Why I ordered pad Thai at Japanese restaurant in Spain? I have no idea. Presentation of ramen was good. Tasted the broth and I was confused because it tasted sweet and lacked in miso flavor and no spice what so ever. Ramen was cooked little al dente. Employee was nice enough to offer chilli.. So added about 4 spoonful and tasted little better. Over all the ramen was pure disappointment, probably the worst ramen I ate at a restaurant. Then the pad Thai.. Tiny little bowl only with shrimp cut in half on top. I thought I was disappointed with ramen but man... This dish was utter failure.. No way anything near pad Thai flavor. It tasted like egg fried noodle with shrimp on top. It lacked in so much flavor. So dinner was pretty sad.. I could not recommend this place to anyone.. And holy smoke 5.50 for side of kimchee.. What the heck.. Can't wait to tell my mom how much they were charging for side of kimchee...

I think I was going to like this regardless because I love fusion food. Living in the Bay Area in California, its just something that I always will gravitate towards. But Japanese and Spanish fusion? Good lord.... When we arrived we just about got the last seats in the house. It was fully packed for dinner. We had been looking for a place to eat dinner and everywhere nearby was full. So we were really appreciative when the hostess welcomed us in. The decor was very modern and slick. It really had an upscale feel to it. But yea everyone who worked there was super nice. I like nearly every single tapas that was brought out. All the fish tapas tastes super fresh, especially when paired with the greens. There definitely was evidence that whoever was the chef making these, had a mastery on food pairings. I will also say that I don't typically like mushrooms. They served a lot of mushrooms this night but I wasn't mad about it. Paired with the Pork Cheek and Steak, it really brought took you on an umami ride. The wine they picked for us also was a perfect pic. So if you do decide to dine here, I definitely would reach out to staff if you have any questions. They seem to be super knowledgeable about wine. But in any case I can't wait to come back here someday. When I come back to Spain, this place will definitely be at the top of my list!
