"I'm not force-feeding myself a steak at four-thirty to save a couple a bucks, I'll tell you that!" - Jerry Seinfeld Solid 3.5 "I'm not force-feeding myself a steak at four-thirty to save a couple a bucks, I'll tell you that!" - Jerry Seinfeld Solid 3.5 , YMMV.  on a day of walking, markets and tours... day 6 in Barcelona and as fantastic as the tapas have been, we needed a taste  of home - enter steak! Our 1st choice was closed when we arrived (to EU in general, follow online reservations w/ a call) and we pivoted here. da Scene: Not far from where our tour of La Sagrata Familia ended, a few tables outside if you wish to eat & smoke.  But opt for inside as it's a cool joint, trendy long bar to the left, well stocked w/ gin & whiskey and a few 2 & 4 tops line the right.  Space is deeper than wide, but can accommodate groups towards the back.  View their 300+ variety of wines on display. Vibe is VERY chill, dim like a steakhouse should be, some old time mellow jazz, soul, r&b playing, set a great mood. I was settled in  w/ a Manhattan quickly. da Grub: Pumpkin soup and carpaccio to start, and a wine recommendation to go with our dinner.  Argentinian beef is their specialty, so we opted for a 1kg combo, to taste their many cuts.  This is my 3rd experience w/ this beef and while flavorful, you must take care to lean to the med-rare to rare preparation, or it will not have the texture an "American" palate will appreciate, as beef @ home tends to be more well marbled. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and was an ample serving (except for the filet, which was 3 bites at most). Our favorite was the skirt steak and blood sausage, the other cuts tended to not have a "personality" and needed the supplied chimichurri sauce. We were awash in sides: fries, baked potatoes, root vegetables, and salad.  It was so much food for 2 we could not finish, skipping coffee & dessert.  I would suggest to the ownership to add beef ribs to the combo! da Service: Excellent, you'll be relived to know all service folks we met spoke enough English to let your guard down and relax the tension of straining w/ Spanish.  Host was welcoming, waiters quick and attentive, but the Sommelier was great and made sure we were well attended to even when selecting a $50 wine for us.

GREAT EXPERIENCE! The service and hospitality provided by Henry and his team at Buenos Aires Grill was top notch. We were a little warm sitting near the front door and when we asked to move they were more than happy to help us move immediately. Loved that they didn't even hesitate to make us more comfortable. We were even more delighted when Henry and his team played a special song and delivered a special dessert to our table in celebration of our anniversary. They gave us a special memory we'll remember fondly. We also enjoyed our meals a lot! Thank you Henry & Team!!!

We wanted a nice steakhouse for my friends Birthday dinner. We looked this place up and decided to try it. We made reservations. When we arrived we were seated right away. Our server was amazing. He was very knowledgeable on the menu. He explained the steak cuts to us. I ordered the spare ribs grilled with fries. I had a banana split for dessert, all which was amazing. We told the waiter it was our friends birthday and they made it super special for her. They turned on "Celebration" music and the whole restaurant was clapping and cheering for her. That made her night. The ambiance was nice, rest was big and spacious.

Beautiful establishment and dining expérience. It was 5mins walking from my bnb. I made reservations for 1 online. Was seated and provided a wine and food menu. I ordered Grilled shrimp, grilled short ribs with potatoes. Glass of rosé. All for $45 beautiful dining experience and service was excellent. I left satisfied and I hope to return

This Argentine steakhouse was a great find. My biggest recommendation would be to get there early. We arrived around 6:00 and the place was fairly empty and were seated right away, but shortly after that the place was packed and even if you had a reservation you may still have to wait a few minutes. This place isn't small either. After eating lots of tapas over the past couple weeks this was perfect. The menu had a variety of steaks from Argentina and Uruguay to choose from. After ordering we were presented with an Amuse-bouche and some bread and home made garlic butter that was pretty tasty and a nice surprise. We followed that up with the chips and guacamole, which I know is not Argentine, but it was still pretty good. The steak followed and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. Just how a steak should be eaten. The chimmichurri sauce was the quite delicious and complimented the steak perfectly. After we finished we were presented with a free small cocktail to finish us off. Overall a great experience.

After returning to Barcelona from spending the day in the historic town of Girona, we wanted to eat a churrasco (Argentinian steak). So we got on Yelp and came across this place. To get there, we took the metro (line 5) and walked about 25 minutes under a light rain. We nearly gave up several times, I am so extremely happy we persevered. Nothing I tell you will give justice to our experience, from food, service and ambiance. Here are some photos.

Very nice staff, nice wine list from Argentina and maybe the best thing the steak itself was similar in taste and quality of the ones I get working in Argentina.

Please stay tuned because our experience is a bit bizarre, and when I say bizarre, I do not mean bad; our experience was absolutely fantastic. It just took an unusual twist. We have been to Mr. Porter twice. The first time was over a year ago, and the second was just recently. The first time had been a very busy day, just seeing all the wonderful sights of Barcelona. At the end of an absolutely fantastic day, we were famished and wanted a great meal and something romantic. After checking local reviews, we decided Mr. Porter would fit exactly what we were looking for. Turning on the GPS, we walked to Mr. Porter and found a very exotic entrance with an intriguing sign and logo. Opening up the large doors and entering the gateway to what was a very exotic even sexy entrance to what would certainly be a charming and romantic experience. At the end of the hallway we stepped through a black curtain to the hostess, a woman completely decked out in a black evening gown. She asked if we had reservations. Fear and trepidation overtook us as we replied no; she smiled and said I have something special for you. She seated us at a large booth in a corner that was ideal for a romantic dinner. The ambiance was perfect, and the candlelight made things even more charming. The service was impeccable and what you would expect from a five-star restaurant. Our dinner that night was absolutely spot on, with us splitting the Porthouse. Perfect char, temperature, and flavor. The wine was ideal and not pricey. Dessert was served on a salt block, which was intriguing. It was enough that we now cook with a salt block at home. As mentioned, service was amazing. Right there at the perfect time never there too much. We finished the night with stars in our eyes. Fast forward to this last trip. Needless to say, we love Barcelona. I mean, who wouldn't! Last time here we stayed at the Le Meridien, and this time we were staying at Sir Victor. Sir Victor and Mister Porter are attached. So when you check into the hotel, you can see into Mr Porter. However, from this view, the restaurant entrance is totally different. Wide open, well lit, and a bar that is now the focal point. It feels different. We were up for an interactive dinner and chose to make a reservation for the chef's counter. Once again, the service was five-star, and the food and the atmosphere were just unbelievable. Oh oh oh soooo good! Engagement at the chef's counter was a special treat. This was so good yet oh so different. We actually thought we were at a different location. We thought it was a second Mr. Porter location in Barcelona. When leaving, we told the hostess we had an incredible evening, and we were glad that we were able to try both of their Barcelona restaurants. She smiled and said we only have one. I was like, no, the one we were at before had this great exotic entrance, red lighting, very sexy; you come through a curtain and very romantic tables. Her smile was bigger, and in professional tones she said Come with me. We followed to a long black curtain; she pulled it back and asked whether the entrance had looked like this. Oh my yes, yes it did! She walked, and we followed. Perhaps you sat here? The restaurant took on a completely different look. We laughed; she laughed. Same restaurant a year later, totally different vibe and appearance. So much so we thought it was a different spot. We can't wait to go back. One of our favorite restaurants in the world. Try it and have your own very unique experience.

I did love the concept of being able to grill your meat a little more if you prefer it that way. Unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience with the service. We were a table of 4 and wanted to share a few appetizers before getting our own main dishes. The server quickly shut us down and told us we were ordering too much food. We explained that we were very hungry, but he insisted we were asking for too much and actually refused to take our order. It turned into a bit of an uncomfortable argument because we simply wanted to order what we wanted to eat. Eventually, we had to reduce the number of plates we were ordering just so he would take our order. I ordered an appetizer, but when I tried to order my main dish, he again refused because he said it was too much food. At that point, I just decided to eat from my friend's plate instead. Then, after telling us we were ordering too much, one of my friends was still hungry and wanted to order the steak. Suddenly, the issue was that it was going to take too long to prepare. So first we were told we were ordering too much, and then when we wanted to add a steak later, we were told it would take too long. We eventually managed to order it, accompanied by a pretty obvious eye roll. And to top it all off, when we asked for dessert -- one each -- the server seemed genuinely shocked that four people wanted four desserts instead of sharing one. Honestly, the whole experience was just very weird and uncomfortable. I felt judged the entire time based on how much we wanted to order, and I've never had a server refuse to take my order because they thought I was ordering too much food. The food itself was good, but the service really took away from the experience. Between that and the strict 2-hour window, I'm not sure I'd go back or recommend it, which is a shame because the place itself is absolutely beautiful.
