We went to Barcelona, and ended up at an Argentinian restaurant! :) And boy, are we glad we did. It was our favorite meal during our trip. The entire experience was fantastic. The owner was a lovely woman who came over to chat with us as best she could in English, and recommended their prix fix option of a variety of different steaks, with a side of potatoes and a bottle of wine. Before I even get to the meal, can I take a moment to savor the bread!? She told us it would be good, but wow, was it tasty. Straight out of the oven, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and served with chimichurri sauce that I would have chugged if I could. Anyway, the meat didn't take very long at all, and we had a perfectly prepared platter of medium rare filet, strip, sirloin, and ribeye. It was an overwhelming amount of meat, but we were up for the challenge! All of it was cooked to perfection, we took to soaking the potatoes in the juices. After dinner we had an alfajor cookie and tiramisu, both very good. The restaurant was getting really busy, so the owner asked us if we could move to a smaller table to accommodate waiting guests. We gladly obliged, and in return got a free pitcher of sangria! And naturally, that meant ordering another dessert. So we tried the crepes. It was the right decision. :) Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Best sangria I've ever had in life. Ordered a pitcher. As for food I ordered the breaded chicken. If you're American and like chicken parmesan, this is the dish for you. It was great. My friend ordered the ribeye--medium. We split our meals so that we could try both. The steak was honestly ooookay but good for here I guess? In Texas, it wouldn't have cut it. Our waiter was hilarious and hooked us up on the dessert with extra chocolate and Carmel on top of our lemon pie and dolce leches (something from France apparently?) which was wonderful! If I could, I would've ordered that dessert instead if mine. Very small and intimate. There was a long wait but we were seated within 3 minutes of arrival. If you're ugly, bring someone pretty. -A

First night in Barcelona and came for my boyfriend's birthday and was pleased with everything ! Ordered a bottle of Malbec, empanadas and meat platter for two . Dessert was delicious too ordered cheese cake with raspberry sauce and dolce de leches with caramel sauce . Great atmosphere and cutely decorates

Superb Argentinian meat paired with a lovely bottle of red wine. I can recommend the tenderloin with the peppersauce. However, the side dished were sub-par. Regarding the service I have nothing to complain about and nothing to highlight. The decore of the resturant is a mix of Texas Longhorn and a spanish bar. Will come back again!

Excellent food, service, wine, and adorable place. We loved it so much we went our last evening in Barcelona. The steak was cooked perfectly and although absolutely delicious, the chimichurri was not needed. I loved everything about this place and the staff was super sweet. I wish i could take this place back home!!

These plates were three of the best desserts. Make sure you do not miss out on this gem of a restaurant!

Where do I start?? This is hands down the best meal we have had in spain!!!They brought us out fresh baked bread and the most delicious chimichurri sauce for dipping. We ordered steak, empanadas, and breaded chicken. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back before we head home to the US. LOVE THIS PLACE!

This is a don't miss in Spain for at least one of your dinners. Everything was amazing. Great steaks. Great patatas brava. But the empanadas. OMG.... the empanadas. They were so good we came back two more trips just to get them take away for snacks and breakfast. Amazing homemade pastry dough stuffed with ham and cheese, beef, spicy beef, or chicken. All were phenomenal. Amazing homemade bread baked fresh for each table. Small little place with very friendly waitstaff. Reservations were made through email and the reply was prompt.

A super cozy Argentinean restaurant with delicious meat. The owner was chatting around the restaurant with all the guests, in Spanish, English, Italian, Portuguese. It's a bit pricy, but worth it. The best meat I have eaten in Barcelona. Definitely going back! Tiramisu and dulce de leche ice cream were also really tasty. Make sure to order some of the amazing empanadas for starter!

Ordered sirloin steak, which was good, but too much gristle for good quality steak. Service mediocre. So, you decide or not.

I did love the concept of being able to grill your meat a little more if you prefer it that way. Unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience with the service. We were a table of 4 and wanted to share a few appetizers before getting our own main dishes. The server quickly shut us down and told us we were ordering too much food. We explained that we were very hungry, but he insisted we were asking for too much and actually refused to take our order. It turned into a bit of an uncomfortable argument because we simply wanted to order what we wanted to eat. Eventually, we had to reduce the number of plates we were ordering just so he would take our order. I ordered an appetizer, but when I tried to order my main dish, he again refused because he said it was too much food. At that point, I just decided to eat from my friend's plate instead. Then, after telling us we were ordering too much, one of my friends was still hungry and wanted to order the steak. Suddenly, the issue was that it was going to take too long to prepare. So first we were told we were ordering too much, and then when we wanted to add a steak later, we were told it would take too long. We eventually managed to order it, accompanied by a pretty obvious eye roll. And to top it all off, when we asked for dessert -- one each -- the server seemed genuinely shocked that four people wanted four desserts instead of sharing one. Honestly, the whole experience was just very weird and uncomfortable. I felt judged the entire time based on how much we wanted to order, and I've never had a server refuse to take my order because they thought I was ordering too much food. The food itself was good, but the service really took away from the experience. Between that and the strict 2-hour window, I'm not sure I'd go back or recommend it, which is a shame because the place itself is absolutely beautiful.

Please stay tuned because our experience is a bit bizarre, and when I say bizarre, I do not mean bad; our experience was absolutely fantastic. It just took an unusual twist. We have been to Mr. Porter twice. The first time was over a year ago, and the second was just recently. The first time had been a very busy day, just seeing all the wonderful sights of Barcelona. At the end of an absolutely fantastic day, we were famished and wanted a great meal and something romantic. After checking local reviews, we decided Mr. Porter would fit exactly what we were looking for. Turning on the GPS, we walked to Mr. Porter and found a very exotic entrance with an intriguing sign and logo. Opening up the large doors and entering the gateway to what was a very exotic even sexy entrance to what would certainly be a charming and romantic experience. At the end of the hallway we stepped through a black curtain to the hostess, a woman completely decked out in a black evening gown. She asked if we had reservations. Fear and trepidation overtook us as we replied no; she smiled and said I have something special for you. She seated us at a large booth in a corner that was ideal for a romantic dinner. The ambiance was perfect, and the candlelight made things even more charming. The service was impeccable and what you would expect from a five-star restaurant. Our dinner that night was absolutely spot on, with us splitting the Porthouse. Perfect char, temperature, and flavor. The wine was ideal and not pricey. Dessert was served on a salt block, which was intriguing. It was enough that we now cook with a salt block at home. As mentioned, service was amazing. Right there at the perfect time never there too much. We finished the night with stars in our eyes. Fast forward to this last trip. Needless to say, we love Barcelona. I mean, who wouldn't! Last time here we stayed at the Le Meridien, and this time we were staying at Sir Victor. Sir Victor and Mister Porter are attached. So when you check into the hotel, you can see into Mr Porter. However, from this view, the restaurant entrance is totally different. Wide open, well lit, and a bar that is now the focal point. It feels different. We were up for an interactive dinner and chose to make a reservation for the chef's counter. Once again, the service was five-star, and the food and the atmosphere were just unbelievable. Oh oh oh soooo good! Engagement at the chef's counter was a special treat. This was so good yet oh so different. We actually thought we were at a different location. We thought it was a second Mr. Porter location in Barcelona. When leaving, we told the hostess we had an incredible evening, and we were glad that we were able to try both of their Barcelona restaurants. She smiled and said we only have one. I was like, no, the one we were at before had this great exotic entrance, red lighting, very sexy; you come through a curtain and very romantic tables. Her smile was bigger, and in professional tones she said Come with me. We followed to a long black curtain; she pulled it back and asked whether the entrance had looked like this. Oh my yes, yes it did! She walked, and we followed. Perhaps you sat here? The restaurant took on a completely different look. We laughed; she laughed. Same restaurant a year later, totally different vibe and appearance. So much so we thought it was a different spot. We can't wait to go back. One of our favorite restaurants in the world. Try it and have your own very unique experience.
