LOVE love this place. This place isn't a far drive from home at all (Bartram Springs subdivision). OMG... It's so huge! I came in here to find a few decorative carpet ideas for my home office, living room, bonus room, and master bedroom and got pulled into different areas calling out my name. It was hard to stick with the reason why I came here. Lol. I saw all kinds of furniture and cool decor I know I don't need but want and love. My husband thank goodness is so patient with me but truly I have to come back tough by myself so I can walk the entire place at least twice. Ha!Ha! It's a great place to get your 30 minute walk for sure! Make sure you are wearing your good walking shoes and you have your water bottle in your purse/tote. Restaurant was quiet at 1:45-2:30 (late lunch). I had the Swedish meatballs and potatoes. Not bad at all. I saw all sorts of dry goods and snacks that I had to see. Cool samples to try. Now the line checking out was long but at least moving. I was in no real hurry but it sure felt like Black Friday on a normal weekday at 3:45. I didn't purchase any reusable bags as I was fine carrying my items to the car with the rolling cart. Bags cost $1.99 (I think). Recommend? Yes! I had a great time. There's plenty of home decor for everyone's taste whether it's a new place, dorm decor, redecorating, downsizing, or just getting ideas. It's all beautiful and not bad on prices. read more

It's ikea! What more can I say. Tried and true and reliably stable and fun. No matter where you are it seems

I have been shopping at the Jacksonville IKEA since they opened. This is the worst shopping experience I have experienced there. No one around to assist unless you walk around for 3-5 minutes looking for someone; I needed to find a simple product they carry (furniture corner protectors), and it took me three different floor people to find them. The first two told me the wrong area, and the last one found it for me. Then I tried to find the packages of their new veggie hot dogs, stood at the first floor food stand (where they sell them prepared) for almost 5 minutes and no one was there, only to find an associate sales person that said, "Oh, they left early today at 3 pm". No sign saying they were closed, all the lights were on, who in the heck is supposed to know there is no one working behind the counter. I asked this person to assist me in finding the frozen veggie dogs, and she picked up the frozen "sausages" and said it was the same thing. I informed her it was not the same packaging and said "sausages", not "hot dogs" on the package, and she stated that the "sausages" were the same as the "hot dogs," and if I didn't like them I could return them for a refund. I informed her it would be a hardship to return them as I live approximately 25 miles from IKEA, and would not be sensible for me to make a special trip just for that. I then asked her for someone who was familiar with that area to ensure these were the same product, and she couldn't. Really?! She reasssured me they were the same product, so I reluctantly bought them. I was in a hurry and wanted to avoid the rush hour traffic, but there was no sense of service - actually NO service at the registers, all "self serve". There were many registers for cashiers, but not a one was open. One of my items my husband picked up in the marketplace was marked down and would not ring up, so then we had to wait another 5 minutes for someone to find one that was not a "display" item; my husband said that the one we tried to ring up was the only one on the shelf when he picked it up. We finally went to our vehicle, and I quickly looked up ONLINE if the IKEA veggie hot dogs and veggie sausages at IKEA were the same product, and the answer was NO. I was very upset at the associate that told me they were the same product, and I was only buying them mostly for my granddaughter or I wouldn't have gone to this length. GOOD LUCK trying to call this location, you will always get someone who does not appear to be on the mainland of the US. They won't give you the local store number and give you lip service just like the associate at the store, who seemed very proud to tell me she was the "Customer Service Manager". The only pleasant part of this visit was the restaurant. The employees there are always helpful and friendly with pretty decent food. I used to enjoy shopping at IKEA, but no more. read more

I hate IKEA. Okay, I really don't. Allow me to explain. IKEA is really a Shopping Disney for women...that is what I think. It is a huge place. IKEA of  Jacksonville has over 20+ depts.... full of endless ideas that you can do for your house, kitchen, garage, bedrooms, etc. But I feel like you have to be in great shape to shop at IKEA. And I speak for the Male species when I say this, because majority of us men... are not built for shopping. Emarigh?!? The longer we shop, the weaker we get...like Superman facing a Kryptonite. We actually get more excited when we find a bench or chair to sit on & chill, until our wife, GF or love ones are done shopping, or ready to move on to the next dept. And we always know were in trouble when 2 hours had passed on by...and we're still on the same dept. Again, there are over 20+ depts. IKEA really sounds like " I Kil Ya ". And for the Ladies, welp it feels like a total opposite. The ladies look like Popeye eating that can of Spinach. They step into the IKEA entrance,  superhero cape on and all, just ready to take on the Shopping World and that is what IKEA is. I have yet to witness a woman with a sad shopping face...not at IKEA.   But with all fun intended, I really do heart IKEA. Just make sure I am rested plenty if you invite me to go here.   And to further conclude, best part about IKEA is, they really have nice quality items at an affordable price. This is the third and smallest Ikea location I've been to. It's only one story compared to the other locations (two and three). I'm not a big fan of the layout. If you don't pay attention to the linear map, you may end up feeling like you're in a huge maze. It's because they want to get consumers to walk pass their showrooms. This is fine the first time shopping here, but it's a pain when you know what you want and just need to get in and get out, you have to actually pay attention to the map in order to find the shortest way to the marketplace areas. The second main component of my Pinterest inspired Coastal FL room are these bamboo looking blinds. I purchased them shortly after the store opened and had to make two trips because the BUSKTOFFEL Roller blinds in light brown color was out of stock. They look nice initially but they show some puckering in extreme temperature, which is often. Overall I'm still glad I bought them since they really helped complete the look I was going for. We recently purchased some wardrobes and they were reasonably priced compared to other places we looked. I've bought several other items from here as well but the blinds and wardrobes has been our biggest purchases so far. Ikea sells so many items, some you wouldn't even think about. There's a whole section of art supplies and a kids' section with lots of fun and colorful items; all of which are reasonably priced. That's just naming a few. Eventhough store is only one floor, there's still a ton of stuff. Have kids and want to do some shopping in peace? Drop them off at day care. How awesome is that? I wish I can utilize that service but my girls are too old and want to tag along with me now and shop because they think Ikea is fun. Lol. They have their very own cafeteria filled with delicious & affordable entrees & desserts. If you are a member of the IKEA family you get free coffee or soda. You also get a free meal on your birthday and discount coupon. Don't forget to checkin at the kiosk near the entrance to see what deals are available. Ever try to return something? You just go the return area near the front and sign up at the kiosk. My shelf was missing a piece of hardware. They did not have it in stock so they opened a brand new box and gave me the hardware. If you have gotten this far in life and haven't visited an IKEA , it's something you need to fix in your life! We live a little over two hours from this IKEA but it was well worth the trip! Yes, you can shop online and you can pay the $199 shipping but you really miss out on the true IKEA experience! This is my third IKEA that I have visited. They are all a little different as many chains are. But they are all packed with every little or big thing your house, office or anywhere outside could dream to need. If you need dishes, they have them, picture frames or artwork, they got that! Maybe you want an artificial plant because you don't have a green thumb, look no further. Hate plastic plants, they have live ones too! And the room ideas just go on and on and on. I could take a hundred pics here and not even begin to show you all the glory of what they have! They have so many containers and bags that make the Container Store look sparse! And I have t even mentioned that they sell dood! Tons of food. We didn't eat at what looked like a cafeteria style set up, but it was packed! The maze that you follow to travel the whole building and see all the sections go right through the restaurant. We were looking for some short cuts (yes I said short cuts- they have them and they are very cool) through the maze and had interactions with two employees and they were sooooo nice and helpful. Ok..here's the thing..Every Single Person had told me that going to Ikea was going to make my whole life different, and IT DID! Jacksonville has been happily going to Ikea for a little while now, and it was finally my time. My favorite beard picked me up and away we went, arriving in the afternoon on a dreary, rainy day. I was soon all giggles and sunshine, following arrow after arrow to see all that was there to be seen. We walked thru all the show rooms, sat on all the couches, we -ok- I pretended to cook in all the fabulous kitchens and maybe snuck in some cuddles in a few of the beds. The layout is open and airy and fun. It really does create the setting for using your mind to open up all the possibilities that you could make your own, in a home. While strolling and laughing and trying out furniture, we also were able to see a vision of what we might like in some rooms together. Some of my favorite rooms are in my pics, but we did not capture the older couple that caught us kissing in one of the showers! I somehow came away with no purchases beside some of the delicious items in the cafeteria, and I can tell you that it will not happen again. There are just too many fun pretty options here that I need, want and would love to add to possibly a new wedding registry! Stephen aka my fave beard has some furniture from this location, and said that the purchase and pickup process is a breeze, and we all know the building of the furniture can be the fun part. I can not wait to go on more adventures here, and add some items to our home. read more

Yes, the mechanics of furniture crafting and following instructions just don't jive with me. But this time they did! Courtesy of IKEA! And all that I assembled looks good too! Where to begin? Well, first, you have to realize that IKEA is one big trail without the trees! You know you've reached the middle when you get to the restaurant. By the way, as of the writing of this review, the restaurant is now open, but they do take names on a list for those who eat there for Covid tracking. I miss those Swedish meatballs but just don't want my name on a list for now. I picked up a number of excellent household items, along with the new desk furnishings at super reasonable prices. It was delivered the next day and then it was time for me to go to work. I do recommend that if you buy furniture or things that need some kind of assembling at IKEA, do buy their small toolkit! You'll be glad you did. And it's pretty low cost as well. I feel a new motivation since getting my new Rev desk! This is my first test of review writing for Yelp and so far so good! My guess is that many of my friends have already written reviews on their IKEA experience for Yelp and/or are very familiar with it. My wife went to IKEA for the Furniture and I went for the food. This was our first time at IKEA it was pretty interesting the layout was pretty neat it was like a maze but without getting lost. You go through each section of a home Weatherby living room bedroom kitchen and then once you're past the marketplace/kitchen then you can shop for the items you previously looked at this was our first time again here and we had no clue what was going on and had to ask get the items we wanted. The food was pretty decent I got the pulled pork sandwich Swedish meatballs and mac & cheese and pulled pork sandwich was OK and chewy. I asked several other employees where my item was. One said it was all the way in the back and they're working on it. Another said it's the weekend and we are really busy. It goes in order. Always find what I need when following signs, etc and customer service has always been great. We eat there almost every time going with the same great customer service. I have also needed to return an item twice. One time the wait was very long, but when I made it to the employee, she was very nice, helpful and got me out of there ASAP. As far as the furniture...I really do say it depends on how well you put it together and how often you are moving certain pieces. About 80% of our furniture is IKEA, but most of it is larger items like sofas, dining sets and large cabinets. We have had them all 5+ years and they are still beautiful and holding up great! I will continue to shop here until I have poor experiences (which I don't see happening anytime soon ;)) read more

Ok, truth moment: I've never really shopped IKEA. I love it, but I've never really shopped it. So why the three stars? -- I'll get to that. It's IKEA for Pete's sake! I've visited the Orlando location multiple times with great intentions, but usually end up at the cafe eating Swedish meatballs (yum). (Don't judge) Well, this time would be different. Due to my recent move and the shiny, new location that just opened in Jax, I had a list and I was READY. I had urgency. I had a sense of purpose to push me past the cafe! And I did it! I strolled in, oh'd and ah'd, grabbed a cart, and scoffed at the cafe as passed through! (Not today, cafe... Momma's on a mission!) I get past the cafe (for the win), and make it to the perfectly designed, ready-made room displays that make me want to tear my house a part (while crying, with "Unbreak my Heart" playing in the background) and try again because it TOTALLY SUCKS in comparison. I find myself losing steam already, but I remember my list and refuse to turn back. I'm looking for a weird candle size that I know IKEA will carry! Do they carry it? Yes, they do! Are they currently sold out of it? (Had an associate scan to help) Yes, they are. Do they have literally a gazillion display candles of the size I need with the wicks cut off? Why, yes of course. (Shot to the heart) But I'm ok. I shake it off and head over to the kitchenware! I'm looking for cute, contemporary cream and sugar set (preferably with a lid and spoon for the sugar) for my coffee nook. Do they have it? NO! They have the creamer with no sugar whatsoever. Are they out of stock? NOPE. They don't carry it at all, like, ever. (Who buys only the creamer dish? With no sugar to match? Why is this happening to me?) At this point, my eyes almost well up. But I push on. Now, I'm looking for 14x26 pillow covers. I just know in my heart that IKEA will have a cute, contemporary pattern selection. Do they? Nope. And with that, I was all out of strikes. I didn't even want to sulk in the cafe at this point. I aimlessly pushed my empty cart around and followed the arrows of the IKEA store-maze. Of course I saw tons of cool things (with great prices) that I wasn't looking for, and got out of there when I reached the finish line. The staff was helpful in apparently trying to get blood out of a turnip for me, the store is clean, the IKEA perks that we love are firing on all cylinders, but I failed miserably today. Once outside, I sat in the parking lot and placed my Amazon Prime order for the win. -- shoulda' just stuck with the meatballs. Le sigh. read more

I revisited Ikea this past weekend for the 4th time since they'd opened and my experience for these last couple of times was much better than the first. Hubby and I came early for their Swedish American breakfast, which was quite good. I also got the delicious complimentary latte since we have the Ikea family member card so that was a great. It was pretty empty at 9:30am but the parking lot filled up fast when we left at 11am, it was almost full. They opened up more lines at the check out this time so we didn't need to wait for that long (unlike the first time, thank God). We mainly came here for new interior inspirations since we a building a new home, therefore it was very fun to browse around the model rooms. I'm so glad Jacksonville is finally growing and Ikea is just 15 minutes away from us now. This will most likely be our usual hang out place for the fam. read more

My love affair with IKEA began when the first one opened in the USA back in the 1980s and then I moved and never saw another one again. I treasured my few pieces of furniture and they served me well over the past 3 decades. The one piece I have left, a modular bookcase (sadly no longer made) is a steel tube and pine beauty, a bit worn but still in fantastic shape. (So much for "cheap" Euro furniture, huh?) Fast forward to 2017 when IKEA comes to Jacksonville. Yes, I did a mighty happy dance. It is as wonderful as I remembered and more. This place is a humongous labyrinth of a department store with furniture, appliances, linen, closet organizers, etc., etc. They have things for literally every room of your house from kitchen, bath, bed, living, dining, nursery, play, man cave, and patio. It's amazing. If you need something, they most likely will have it. Yes, everything has bizarre made-up Swedish names, but I find that part of the charm. Yes, most everything that is largish has to be assembled by you - but that's how they keep the prices down. If you cannot transport it yourself or assemble it, they can help you with that - just ask. They have an app you can download so you can shop in the privacy of your own home. What I do, is look for the stuff I need, add it to my list on the app and then find it in the store. The employees are fantastic. Every department has at least one there, usually more like 3 if you pay attention. Once I got turned around (very easy) and lost and an employee found me the instant I said I need help. He was literally half a store away and spotted me in distress! I showed him the app and told him what I was looking for, and he led me straight to it. Oh, and there is also a restaurant/cafe! The menu is small, and they always have Swedish Meatballs (yum!) but it's very affordable and delicious. They also have daily vegetarian offerings as well. I'll tell you one of the reasons I really love IKEA besides the prices, quality and customer service. The size of most of the furniture. Many critics say this is a good place for college students because the things they sell are scaled perfect for dorm rooms. Well, I live in a home built in 1930 and space is at a premium - my house literally was not built big enough for modern couches and tables, etc. IKEA is perfect because I can find brand new, beautiful things scaled down to fit my home. I'm so grateful that IKEA came to Jacksonville, and so is my husband and my daughter. I also cannot wait for a new grandchild - it's gonna be an IKEA baby, I've already informed my sons. read more

Upon arrival, you walk into a clean store. Carts where they're supposed to be, directions on the wall, and some employees scattered about. They'll help you get where you need to go, if you just need one thing like curtains or plants, etc. Take a walk and go through the entire store, you may want to bring some water and a snack for protein and blood sugar, because the store is huge. There's so much to look at, touch, wonder if you need it and the answer is almost always YES. It's a fun place with so many things at affordable prices. I've done many "entire walk thru's" and plenty of "one or two stop shops". Their Click & Pick up option is awesome. Order online the night before or early enough in the day, pull up in the designated area and someone kind will come out and even help you load your order into your car. This store has pretty good stock considering, and they're continuously getting new things in and a restocking. Ikea is just an overall awesome place and as a designer for others and consumer for my personal home, I end up here at least once a week and I'm not complaining. Surely they'll offer me my own "room" one day, or name a piece of furniture after me, right? Here's to hoping because IKEA is truly my favorite place for all things decor, furniture and organization. When we went to pick up the order, the order number could not be found in the system and the acting manager would do nothing for us despite seeing the email that showed the order and the payment. We wasted hours dealing with the situation with absolutely awful customer service in the store. After repeated phone calls, we finally reached a competent IKEA employee, Rory, who was able to locate the order and reimburse us since we were not given the merchandise and had no intentions of returning. read more

It's like they actually took time to think about what a real shopping mom needs in a public restroom. Let me count the ways in which this family restroom is superior to all other public restrooms: - nursing chair - small table & chairs to occupy young kids while Mom is doing her business - wall chair with seat belt to contain toddlers while Mom is doing her business - diaper dispenser -diaper disposal Essentially, I could personally bring 4 children with me to IKEA and keep them all occupied in their bathroom long enough for me to use the facilities in peace, and THAT is a better prospect than what I could do in my bathroom at home which I why I had to give it 5 stars. Love the cheap Swedish meatballs! They come with delicious gravy, jelly, mashed potatoes and veggies! Cafeteria style, fast, delicious. This ikea had a section that you can sit in that makes it not cafeteria like. The restaurant is located in the middle of the store, so it's not easy access unless you're going shopping. I spent 2 hours at ikea and the restaurant and didn't get through 1/2 the store! It's HUGE! Good place for walking, or spending a rainy Saturday when you have nothing else to do. This Ikea store is great! It is the only one level store I have been to and it made the whole experience different. I was lucky enough to be able to attend the pre-opening and was pleasantly surprised by how modern it felt. Most Ikea's feel modern but the design of the Jacksonville store took it to a whole new level. I also liked how the restaurant is in between the showroom and the marketplace so if you are venturing through the whole store, it's a great stopping point to grab a snack or drink and hang out before doing your actual shopping. The restaurant is very large, I didn't eat there on my visit simply because the lines were outrageous but I will go back once the dust settles some. The marketplace is well organized and they had all of my favorites for my plastic bags and storage containers. They also have everything else they normally do. You can easily wander around for hours and not feel like much time has passed by. The marketplace Swedish food store is filled with great things to try such as Swedish pancakes, waffles, meatballs, chocolates, snacks and desserts to try. There is a lot packed into the small space and the prices are very fair. I was shocked to see a few new items such as household appliances, bikes and pet accessories! The prices are fantastic, and many of the appliances had me very envious. I will be back for a few of the pet items! Overall this is my favorite Ikea I have been to. I have only been to a few others in California, Utah and Florida but this one is the coolest by far. Love the store, everything you can possibly need for the home at reasonable prices. Displays at the front of the store provide creative ideas for using and decorating with their products. I would have said it was five stars as the store was clean, organized well by sections, such as kitchen, bedding, lighting, patio, etc., except for the snotty cashier that acted like he hated being there, customers were a nuisance, and that everyone should be grateful to be graced with his presence. No greeting, goodbye, thank you, and I apparently had grabbed one of the items that was on display, instead of trying to call someone to bring up a replacement, he set it aside, looked at me with a disgusted look rolled his eyes and said "you took the display." Needless to say I didn't get the item, as it was in the back of the store. I would hate to think that someone like him was representing my company. I will be looking for his name on the receipt and contacting the manager, as I feel they should be aware and properly train their employees on customer service skills. Ya gotta love inexpensive home stuff!! I've been to this location twice now. A Saturday visit is a scary thing so I was glad to go back on a weeknight. I like that this location is all one floor, though you will still get turned around. It's just like most IKEA but I did notice more staff than I've seen in the past. People actually greeted me! On my more recent visit, we went specifically for dinner. What a great spot to eat! The meals are really inexpensive and yummy. I grabbed a lot of food because I like to try new things. Chicken Cordon Bleu plate was just $4! I also enjoyed the side salad and lingonberry things. The cafe is very casual with many table sizes and even some more intimate areas to sit and enjoy some coffee. Product placement is done in a way that looks natural. Go on a weeknight if you can. There's more room to wander and see everything they have!! read more

Went for 1 thing and bought 15 and spent $200. IKEA strikes again. Sunday afternoon and store not that busy. I hate the 1 story layout of the store but it is what it is. A lot of items out of stock right now. Store was very clean today. Too bad they only had 1 checkout open so had to wait a bit for that. read more

Visited this furniture store was very nice. I ordered alot of furniture paid for the delivery fee just to find out that they don't have anything available for a week and a half. Which I was fine with because I lived an hour away. I took off work to meet them at there timeframe. They told me which was incorrect. They delivered the furniture and half of my stuff was damaged. I called the customer service to see when they can send a replacement, and they told me two weeks that is unacceptable. not to mention customer service people have no compassion . I paid for the service I will never order from IKEA again and if you're looking for something with your new home or new furniture look elsewhere.! read more

Great value have always been very pleased with their furniture and products. Not super high quality furniture but for kids room or guest room furniture I love it for the price read more

Customer service is horrible. My kid was crying and staff member came and said that she can hear her crying and in other words kinda said to leave. So if you are not capable to listen to kid cry you should consider a job from home or get some meds to be able to manage your nerves instead of approching your customers and making them feel bad. read more

Extremely big store with tons of variety. Quality of products are not the best but prices are mostly decent and suitable. If your looking for your normal basic need or your new unusual gadget/decor this is the place to go. They have a lot of spaces staged like actual rooms from your home creating great visuals. There is a cafeteria style restaurant with seating in the middle of the store. I recommend going here at least once to experience. It will probably take you a few visits just to see everything. read more

An IKEA kitchen. Who doesn't want one right? We drove 204 miles one way to meet with an IKEA kitchen design team member. We had created our kitchen design plans using the IKEA.com website kitchen planner tool over the past few months in preparation for this moment. Having a basic kitchen plan up front reduces the amount of time IKEA team members will need to perfect your plans and create an accurate material pick list (items to be purchased). The pick list shows costs associated with each individual item and also provides a grand total including taxes at the end. Our IKEA design planner was Orlando who was very pleasant to work with and walked us through the entire design and purchase process. Along the way Orlando showed us a few tricks with the planner tool to simplify our kitchen cabinet plan edits! Sweet! It generally takes 2 trips to meet with an IKEA kitchen planner to finalize the design, create the material pick list and finally make the purchase. On the initial visit we looked at the full mock-up kitchen displays to get a feel for the flexibility and many options available to choose from (colors, textures, drawer/shelf placement, etc.etc.). We then got together with Orlando who started tweaking (correcting LOL) our overall design using the planner tool. We now have a solid design plan that is ready for final edits (design changes) before returning to IKEA for the 2nd trip. Epilogue: Humans change their minds fairly regularly. By coming to IKEA to physically see what they have and the limitations of what you can do with your kitchen space, your initial kitchen design will most likely morph into something different to some degree. Therefore taking the information gained during the initial visit you can return home to rethink and complete your final design. IKEA is heaven for DIY dreamers. There is soooo much more to IKEA than just their totally kick-butt kitchen cabinets. But be ready to spend an entire day being wowed at every turn on that first visit. IKEA is an experience you must try if you haven't already! read more

Have no issues with anything other than no nursing room available for mothers. So 1 star for that. Zero if I could. I asked if they had a nursing room per their website said they had one, and I got directed to the restroom. First- that's unacceptable for nursing mothers. It is not a sanitary place. Second- where am I supposed to sit? the toilet? next time I guess i'll just feed my baby at the living room display area. So disappointing. read more

This place is like a maze. I have never played paintball but would love to try it here lol. Always have so many options and stage stuff to show how it works in a room. Kitchen utensils are as reasonably priced as Walmart or Amazon. Sorry Jeff. Go hungry the food is great too. read more

Love this store! Impossible to come here and just buy what you came in for. My wife and I like their zip lock bags and had to go get some cause we were running low, at the end of our run through the store we had a cart full. Everything looks so nice that makes you want it even if you don't need it. You also get tons of decorating ideas here. read more
