I know it's Ikea and their products are cheap junk. I get it...I wasn't there looking for a family heirloom. I just wanted to get an armchair for an old man and my only requirement was that it'd be under $300, have a cushion, and not wobble around. Somehow Ikea couldn't deliver on that. I saw the chair in the picture and thought it would work and even picked out a little pillow for it and the little foot rest but then saw it was unavailable. They had two of this color and like 4 of another color on display so when a manager type person was walking by with an employee, I asked if they could just sell me the display model at full price but she told me in a Swedish accent that they couldn't do that unless it was a discontinued model. They had one in Puke yellow however. This seemed to be the case chair after chair...If the damn thing is so popular, how can they not keep it in stock in the 4th largest city store? If they don't get enough in stock then why have a whole room full of display models? I don't know, it just seems like they want you in the store and then break you down and get you to buy something, anything just to get out of that god forsaken rat maze of a store. So that's what I did...The old guy couldn't wait another day so I bought one I didn't really like and then waited a half hour to pick it up. Maybe I'm just not an IKEA type of person. read more

Just have a few things to check out? Tough! It's a love / hate relationship with IKEA. I love browsing the store and I often find things that I want or need. However, if I just want to buy a few things there is never an opportunity for a quick check out. Therefore, I end up just putting down my stuff and leaving - I hate that! Whenever I hear people talk about IKEA, it's always these grand stories about how wonderful it is, how amazing the food court is (cheap and unbelievably good hotdogs, Swedish meatballs, etc.) how you wander around basically for hours and it's like Heaven on earth... Well, this was not the greatest experience for my FIRST EVER IKEA visit... but then again, this is during Covid times and everything seems to be a bit unusual right now. BUT, at least it was open, right? IKEA is open... not the food court or the kid area... I came with some seasoned IKEA shoppers on my maiden visit. Personally, I didn't come with a list of needed items, just figured if something jumped out at me, I could get it. I mean, I LOVE the "IKEA look." We walked around, took pics of the product tags of items we wanted. I found an awesome full length mirror for like $30 and some pillow covers for under $5 each. My friend found some floating shelves for a steal-of-a-price as well as a desk and couch she loved... Now for the kicker... this IKEA location was OUT OF EVERYTHING. The warehouse was EMPTY. Everything we wanted was OUT OF STOCK. No mirror, no desk, no shelves, no couch, no comforter which would have looked perfect in my daughter's newly painted room, no duck feather pillow inserts or the white and black pillow covers which I loved. I ended up only purchasing 2 plain black pillow covers and a plastic bag holder. Spent under $12. I love IKEA there is nothing like using your brain while building these furniture pieces at home, its a giant puzzle with instructions. over the years I have owned numerous pieces and still own some rare discontinued furniture. walking thru these displays the living rooms, bedrooms, restrooms, kitchens etc. is amazing its set up for you to image your self in them sometimes I like to roleplay in these set ups haha! a lot of imagination when coming here and I'm constantly always changing my living space as I try to make my place look like these set ups but fail to do so and never comes out like it but its very good inspiration. the prices are affordable for furniture, household items etc. but in my opinion the furniture tends to be on the cheap side sometimes can easily brake depending how you treat your furniture but sometimes some have good quality. you have a 365 return policy if your not happy read your fine print on the receipt. the IKEA restaurant on the other hand Is a whole other department and its probably my favorite, you cant get enough of those Swedish meatballs and sweet sauce to complement it huh?. Buying a new home, or a couch, or a shelf, IKEA is a sure choice, has always been. The options they carry, the price range, the quality range, convenience of it all in one place - i do love it. Ikea is like a day trip, first of all its in Katy, which, technically is not very far from were we live, but passing the gallaria exit to go to or come from ikea takes out all the energy you started with, but thats not ikea's fault though right.. Was juggling between 3 or 4 star rating, because of the above points and the fact that next time I want a couch, or a shower curtain, or even some unique toys, or organizers, I will definitely drop by IKEA, I decided on 4 stars. So, what don't I like - the service. While some of the agents are very helpful, the others are quite the opposite. Atleast, the last two times I went, I could not spot any agent who could help us find some caddies. I went department to department looking for one, and guess what, when I finally found one, he said that it was not his department so he wasn't sure. Secondly the food - Ordered a garlic toast and quinoa salad- the garlic bread neither spelled or tasted like garlic, and was not even warm. The salad was pretty ok, but could have done with some salt. The low fat ice cream is one thing I don't want to miss when I come here, and the last time was busy finding the car keys and missed by a minute to 9 and the lady would not even look at you- she bluntly said "we are closed". Oh, btw, I recently found out that they have a lost and found section, which you need to come out of the store and climb some stairs.....whoever said finding something you lost was easy!, but, they do have this section, and if u did loose something u jus gotto pray some1 handed it to the agent, who then went through the maze to turn it in, so you can find it when you go there yourself. Central location near Spring Branch/Heights. Huge parking lot and a tourist attraction as much as a furniture store. Huge footprint downstairs and upstairs. Fun to walk around and buy random household stuff once in a while but I'm not a fan of their cheaply made faux modern aesthetic for anything but a college dorm. Houston IKEA is Terrible. Not the experience I've had with other IKEA locations. I made a sizable order on their website. Received a text from IKEA that one item was not on the sales floor but would be shipped from the distribution center and be available for pickup the next day. Never heard anything back. I called the 888 number and couldn't get a straight answer then was hung up on. Called back. The new person proceeds to tell me she can't give me an update and there's nothing she can do about it. I now don't have my items and don't even know when they're going to be available for pickup. The store is 1-1/2 hours from my house. So I can't just skip up there. I asked if there was someone I could talk to higher up, and the rep said "I could try but it won't do any good. Call back in 4 or 5 hours" Shameful and disappointing. read more

This is a big store with a great selection. There are inexpensive items perfect for a dorm room, plus other items that any household would appreciate. How they do their room decorations is commendable. They show, Room after room, what your own room would look like, according to the sq. ft. displayed. The prices here are very reasonable. There is adequate parking. I must mention that we measured a bookcase that we needed that was a perfect fit to 1/8 of an inch. It didn't fit and they admitted the catalog was incorrect. It is easily accessible, just off I-10 with good parking. I went for the first time at their opening 10:00 am time, and it was not crowded. I learned that you go upstairs to browse their show room first, and you can take photos or write the location information (Isle, Bin) for items you want. Then you go downstairs and use carts if needed to pick-up your selections to check out. It was efficient, with no waiting at the check out. I will share that I thought the furniture was generally smaller and less substantial than I needed. I concept seems to be aimed at starter homes and smaller apartments. There were generally some good storage options, but I think Container Store offers more in that regard. Prices were generally good, and I enjoyed visiting there if only to see it for the first time. My compliments on their easy return policy, basically no questions asked. I had an item which was impossible to assemble, and I returned it the next day for something else. read more

IKEA is an experience in furniture shopping that is unmatched in most peoples lives. It's big .... it's really big. The best way to navigate. that place is to treat it like terminal C at bush international airport. Look at the signs, find out where you are and go in the direction indicated for the section you want. There are perhaps 16 to 20 different sections specializing in various aspects of home decor. If want you to go from one section to another is not as straightforward as the airport. I got lost going from section 3 to section 4. The sections are chopped up with walls and doors placed between many sections so you might have to work a little bit, but the experience gives you a better sense of a room rather than a warehouse. if you're truly looking for multiple things you might be there a while, so luckily there's an adjacent IKEA restaurant for you to sit down have a cafeteria style meal and get back at it once your strength is back up. read more

Okay first off I love love IKEA . Been going there for sometime . However, yesterday I was sicken. The bathroom down stairs can not be put in words . Both my co worker I were gagging the whole attire time trying to get out fast enough. The next encounter was the food court . I got the salmon but I had to long bones in it. Always a nice solid experience shopping here. The design ideas are fresh and the service is top notch. The quality of the products is not the highest but most folks who shop here are looking for affordable and nice. We did have lunch here too which again, is not fancy but always solid. Good food and a clean dinning room. As always great service and friendly people. Note the menu is still limited for now, but still a selection. I do return here and will as I need accessories and the occasional room make over. I do wonder, how good the appliances and electronic are. BUYER BEWARE: I'd highly recommend checking out their social media reviews. There are tens of thousands of customers awaiting orders. IKEA's phone lines are not being answered and only cancelation emails are being responded to. We placed our order back in June and intended to receive the 1st week of August. Like most customers, we received the date with a 12 hour delivery window and the notice our items were "being prepared". We waited on the date of delivery and never heard anything from Ikea, are unable to reach them, and are currently paying interest on the purchase. If we didn't already have begin a renovation using their products, I wouldn't have considered placing an order. We're just blessed to not be one of the customers awaiting the necessities; couches, beds, cribs for babies who have already arrived... Perhaps this review will give pause to someone contemplating such a purchase. * Houston in store shoppers, be careful using IKEA shopping carts. I would not advise putting children inside them. Where does IKia get its employees now? ??? Makes you wonder where did they fish out their employees from? They are the rudest laziest and most discriminating creeps! I was there tonight around 5:30 PM on the 1st floor in the area where they sell the bathroom sinks and faucet I watched employe 1 an elderly African-American woman with gray braids and employee 2 a young illiterate Hispanic man both employees of Ikea tear into this nice couple that came in to purchase bathroom counter and sink -FOR NO REASON AT ALL The two employees were out doing absolutely nothing and they made a couple wait for over an hour ( The couple already knew what they wanted and just wanted to check out and I presume just place their order ) The male employee was extremely rude when the customer asked him how long would it take to ring it up because they waited an hour and apparently I'm waiting another 45 minutes for him just to put the order together They employee went on to screaming at the lady and telling her that she took her sweet old time waiting around. The lady corrected him and told him no I was told to wait and we waited for you until you became available. The male employee continued insulting this customer and even body shaming her calling her a fat liar I could not believe this. The lady and her husband left they were really shocked. Unfortunately these two clowns were the only people working there and when I asked them for help they were just as rude to me When I told the guy and the lady that they were being extremely rude and unprofessional and that their job is customer service they proceeded to tell me that all the job as a sales and not customer for service lol what a joke I just watched his people insult another couple I hope that Copperwood Regis review and also post their own review! My first visit to Ikea in Houston, and as soon you walked in, you can't tell which city or location you walked in. This location also has a vast parking lot, and since it's next to the freeway, you have more choices to enter the parking lot. There was a security guard making circles in the parking lot, which is good. Houston is a vast city, and things can happen no matter where you are. I took the stairs to the second floor because today I was only looking for a duvet cover which is downstairs with kitchen stuff but upstairs, you can see these covers on display too. It's hard not to stop a few times till you get what you want to buy, and that's the magic of Ikea display areas. A person who was working next to the mattress area was very kind and helpful. After checking displays, I took the elevator and started putting stuff in my shopping cart. It's hard to control yourself to buy the things you only came for, so of course, I purchased few bowls and few kitchen gadgets. Lines we're going fast, oh you have to pack yourself your stuff after paying so if you have a long list bring help with you. They don't provide bags, so either bring your bags or buy them at the cash register. Overall it's good and affordable, and I found great cotton duvet covers at a great price. read more

We came here for closet shelving and we had a person assist us in building the closet unit. We had a sketch made out, no print out was given of the final look of the closet. We did receive the parts list to get the proper parts for building the closet. The consultation seem rushed and there were not enough employees to handle the demand. We were told all items would be in stock however when going downstairs everything was messy and items were missing. They did have a good number system, however, it was messy and cluttered. A lady came to help, but she seemed rude and disinterested. Only until my boyfriend complained did she provide free shipping of items to home. Shittiest service. read more

This place is my wife's 'happy place' (as is any IKEA), but it tends to send me into anxiety mode. Not sure whether it's the inconsiderate stroller-pushers who go the wrong direction, or the screaming kids, whose parents seem oblivious. Such is the case at every IKEA, so I'm not slighting this location. Poorly organized. A lot of sold out items still being advertised on shelves. The flatbeds are "supposed to be" on aisle 7 the employee told my sister in law yesterday (after she chewed him out for a violation of ADA since we are both disabled) and they make you walk all the way to the front of where the bins are to get a flatbed. The bins have the wrong product where your product is supposed to be. And the big kicker that really P me off is the downstairs cafe. It's like a cattle call. Don't people have any sense to know that there is a cafeteria upstairs ?! Why do they all have to flock like bees to a hive at the downstairs cafe ? There are FOUR self checkout tall computers, the staff won't ring you up which is idiotic! Like clockwork (I was here yesterday and today ) there are people that seem to be stuck on stupid putting their order in for hots dogs or pizza or whatever they're ordering at snails pace. At this point I think they're using the order/ checkout tall computers as a video game because they are clearly playing on them. Meanwhile, the lines are to the checkout which is unacceptable! I have for 2 days tried to buy some frozen food and Swedish grocery items for my kids and CANT! Because these people chose to be hogs and play on the computers and waste everyone's time! Staff need to start ringing people up. Yesterday evening 2 of these self ordering stations were CLOSED and about a dozen ppl were waiting at the 2 open computers. This ikea has gone downhill ! It's also hard to find staff to help and the customers walk backwards on purpose in the walking lanes / aisles and it's very difficult and dangerous. Why don't they see the arrows on the ground ? IKEA reminds me of Costco! There's always a large crowd, parking lot is big & full, and you're bumping into people everywhere inside the store. This IKEA is two stories, has a kids play area and restaurant/cafe. As soon as you come through the entrance, you'll see the escalator and elevator, kids running around the play area and colorful decor all over the walls. It can be quite overwhelming for a first-timer there, but there are plenty of signs and maps. The "showrooms" consist of furniture laid out by sections of a house, for example- living room, kitchen, bedroom, etc. Walking through the showrooms, you'll encounter many customers just sitting on the furnitures and hanging out like they're trying on before purchasing. While a fun experience, their selections were somewhat limited, in my opinion. The pieces they had were simple and affordable. Would recommend that they have more staff members walking around; it was almost impossible finding an employee for questions. read more

Comparing this store to the location in Las Vegas. This store could definitely use a good cleaning. Women's bathroom were dirty, clogged toilet, sinks not working and various staining on floor and backsplash. Also the tampon dispenser was broken. Throughout our walk through I noticed alot of the set ups were dirty and or broken floors were also sticky through out. I felt like this Ikea was slightly unorganized compared to the Vegas location. read more
