IKEA has a near cultish following, and for good reason. The furniture is very stylish and at a good price point for those who are getting their own home established for the first or second time. They have just about everything there for the entire home. The layout basically takes you through the whole store and it feels almost like a maze, but you follow through it in one direction. However, if you look carefully, there are shortcuts between sections. I enjoy the journey, so I got my steps in! There's service counters available around different parts of the store for assistance. They also have little gadgets, gizmos, and treats to add to your cart around there too. I found a sleeve of chocolate cookies for $2! Of course, one must visit the cafe when visiting IKEA. One must get the meatball meal. It's under $10 for a dozen meatballs, mashed potatoes, and peas. It is very delicious and filling. IKEA family members can get free tea or coffee from the cafe, but their coffee machine was down. :( I'm sure I'll be back for more home finishings before too long! read more

It's always exciting to explore this sprawling Swedish mega store! Sure it's a bit intimidating because of how huge it is but the signage and shortcuts are definitely helpful. The employees are very knowledge and will guide you too. Today I went to redeem my IKEA Family birthday rewards which are some of the best loyalty perks I've received all year. They issued me a $10 coupon off a $10 purchase and a free slice of cake on top of that! I love all of the unique and fun items they offer. It's really easy to get distracted by all the cool stuff. I felt inspired to redecorate my entire house lol. Stocked up on some kitchen essentials--all of which are quite reasonably priced. Can't leave without checking out the "Last Chance" products as well as the "As Is" and other discounted items near the exit. I also had a budget friendly lunch which didn't taste like typical bland cafeteria food. I'd go back again. They have so many interesting things to eat, drink and home goods to purchase. I rarely go here but when I do, I get confused with the layout as I am usually going there for one specific thing. In this case it was for one kitchen item and I was lost as usual. I asked a worker, Janet, who was fulfilling an online order and when I asked if she was familiar with the store layout she said yes and dropped what she was doing and had me follow her to show me shortcuts to where I needed to go. Excellent customer service! The employees really look like they enjoy being there and helping you with anything you ask for. I would suggest going there during the week if you don't like the crowds and you're going to need at least two hours to see everything. I don't know what is going on with IKEA. For their restaurants/bistro; the place is just dirty and it seems like they just don't care. We visited IKEA back to back months and the soda machines in the bistro Café area still remain closed. There's many food items that are not available. The actual restaurant is super slow and the food is just lukewarm. Good luck if you wanna find anyone helping you you're on your own. Overall, in the past IKEA was top-notch for low-cost, efficient, European designs, but I find that the experience here is very lackluster. read more

Since it was rush hour and the interstate was heavy with traffic, I decided to kill some time and shop for Christmas presents. I ended up buying a lot more than I planned. Originally I was looking for a small table for my granddaughter's bedroom as I had previously purchased a table lamp for her. As usual for IKEA, I found a dual purpose table. It is a round heavy steel cage looking basket with a heavy removable lid that serves as the table top. Suggestions for the basket storage area are blankets or pillows. For $29.99, the sturdiness of the table seems like a great value. The self serve kitchen area is where I found a lot of items to purchase. I found a stainless steel 2 quart pot for only $9.99 marked down from $18. And some unique heavy shelf paper that looks like it will work much better than what I am using now. The next area was candles. Lots of choices in aromas and sizes. I bought four for gifts. I thought the price point for all the candles was extremely low especially when compared to the other name brands. I paid $2.99 for a 20 hour candle. In fact, I thought all the prices were very competitive and lower than the majority of the competition. I did like their food court with a separate door to the outside. All I got was a bottle of water, but the food looked good. Okay now for some cons. I found two different styles of phone/tablet holders that I wanted to buy in the showroom but the sign say you have to wait until you get to the marketplace. Well by then I completely forgot about them so they lost sales there. I don't like that they do not take cash! And there were zero cashiers. Nobody was even around to even help you if you had trouble. And nobody checking baskets either. After shopping for an hour and lifting heavy furniture items, the last thing I want to do is check out a basket full by myself. read more

Updating my review to mention that the the supply issues that plagued IKEA for the past year or two seem to have been resolved. On two recent visits the store seems to be fully stocked. If you are a serious IKEA shopper you will note that the Fishers store is noticeably smaller at only 296,000 square feet and is only one level. The Cincinnati area IKEA in West Chester has 340,000 square feet and two levels. The Chicago area IKEA at Schaumburg has 450,000 square feet and three levels for your shopping pleasure I love the fact that we have an IKEA here in Hamilton County but will admit I enjoy shopping at the West Chester and Schaumburg locations when I get a chance. read more

This IKEA is quite convenient in that it is a single-level store, contrary to many other IKEA stores around the world where they are often two stories. There really isn't much to say about this store as I feel like all the IKEA stores are the same wherever you go - hence one star taken off for how everything seems the same everywhere. One of my favorite places to be! I will say Swedish furniture isn't my forte to put together but if you or someone close to you is handy - I'm sure they'll figure out the lengthy instructions.. ikea is super clean & very well organized/laid out. My child is 13 so she likes to window shop with me but if you have a smaller child they do offer a staffed play area near the front that you can safely check your child in so you can shop handsfree. The parking lot is well lit at night and there are plenty of workers to help you both in & outside with loading your car or truck. ***big plus for me: the live plants are well taken care of!!! I hate going to bigger dept stores and the living plants are all wilted and thirsty. Don't forget to stop off in the clearance room near the check out - I found two amazing bar chairs in there with minor scrapes for $50 together!!!! read more

Huge Warehouse with so many options. Food court and tons of furniture and home finishes. We were looking for a couple pieces of furniture for a college room. We found them in the appropriate area of the warehouse and headed to the distribution area to get them. One was sold out and the other was there. We went online to ikea.com and found what we wanted and it is being shipped. We could also pick it up at a nearby (1.5 hours away) warehouse today. It was a little disappointed that they didn't have it since the distribution area wasn't near the showroom, and we don't want to walk back to see if we could gone another option. But it all worked out in the end. That stuff is good story furniture at a pretty reasonable price. It has a very specific look to it but I think it could fit well and really be useful in most homes. The staff was very helpful when we asked a couple questions and the rest was laid out very easily so we maneuvered through the large warehouse with ease read more

I know ikea is already like this and the real reason behind it (more stuff for customers to look at and want) but the fact you have to stroll through giant warehouses is ridiculous. Anyways, if you return something be prepared to WAIT 1/2 hour, hour or more depending on who's ahead of you. The process is pain staking to say the least. Make sure you check EVERYTHING before returning should you have more parts missing or boards etc broken . The staff are friendly enough and the lines move quicker now that it's self checkout. This was my first ever visit to an IKEA. Someone online joked that it was like an amusement park for adults, but it kinda is. I was distracted and fascinated at every turn. We just kind of haphazardly walked around until we realized we missed half the store, then went back and followed the arrows. There were a lot of items that were temporarily unavailable but I probably would've spent way too much money if they were in stock. The cafeteria was a nostalgic experience and the food was delicious. I cleaned my plate of meatballs, mashed potatoes, and broccoli and still had room to try the Daim cake. It was a perfect meal and fuel to shop even more. Which is exactly the point. The furniture building experience was exactly as I've heard it would be, but I have an awesome bench now after a lot of elbow grease. read more

What's not to love about a self-guided tour through halls and showrooms, full of prefabricated, assemble it yourself furniture, staged in ways that make you wish that you lived in a tiny house or a glorified yurt. First time I stepped into an IKEA, I was blown away. Now, the luster has worn off, but it's alright. Obviously, there are a ton of options, and I appreciate the modern style and accessible prices. Came to this location for a sofa-bed or futon. Glad I did, because what I thought I wanted was actually quite uncomfortable. Purchased the Friheten instead, which was supportive as a bed and decent as a couch. One slight knock on this location was the associate whom I asked for help. When I went up to her, she continued to look at her computer screen without acknowledging me. Then, abruptly and seemingly impatiently, she asked, "Do you have a question?" She was able to answer my questions, but lacked certain social graces. read more

Three cheers to our city scoring an IKEA! People travel far and wide to experience the clean lines, Scandinavian design, and deliciously-wafting meatball smells. Luckily, IKEA opened just as we got married and were trying to score just about everything needed to live. From beds to dressers, silverware and more, we were excited to explore and build our dream interior. We scored a $5 coffee table, $150 dresser and much more. It was SO much cheaper than your average furniture and there are always so many well-designed items to choose from. Do they last a long time? Not necessarily. We're two years in and while a few items will already need to be replaced, we're thankful to not have needed to shell out so much money out the door. IKEA is honestly even fun if you don't need anything. Just walking through the store can be a great workout, fun date (cough, cough 500 Days of Summer), or simply creative inspo. Vey Vey clean and organized store. There were soooo many nice things to look at. I visited to look for a nice dresser for my room and found several that I liked. I did purchase several drawer dividers and can't wait to make use of them later on. The only negative was actually that I465 an I69 are soooo jacked up due to all of the construction. It's definitely a nice place to find some really unique, modern home furnishings. Parking was decent, but next time, I will try visiting during full daylight hours. It was raining and dark when I left and a bit tricky leaving. Other than the highway issues, I'll have to be sure to visit again SOON for more cool stuff. read more

Contacted them online asking for a floor plan so I could more easily plan which entrance to use closest to my area of interest. They do not have a floor plan. Okay so this review is for the restaurant and not the store or the cafe. If you want to know more about the store offerings or quality of furniture I highly recommend looking at their website or catalog. The restaurant is situated half way through the store, which makes it somewhat hard to get to unless you use the cut-through doors. Obviously they want you to shop, stop half-way, eat, and keep shopping. The options are great and the prices are even better. I think they're probably selling at a loss- especially for breakfast. This time I had the Swedish meatballs and my friend had the salmon balls. The salmon was really fishy- which I liked. The green beans were the stringy kind and the gravy (meatballs) and salsa-thing (salmon) were good complements to the dishes. A bummer is the salmon doesn't come with lingonberry but they've both got mashed potatoes. I also had a very delicious Swedish dessert- I'd tell you what it's called but I forgot the Swedish! I got a picture though- it isn't the prettiest presentation but it was delicious. Overall for the prices, quantity, and quality I'm giving it four stars. Expect a solid healthier cheap meal with enough choices to make everyone happy. Lunch and dinner are good but breakfast is where it's really at. Also free WiFi :) read more

You never want to judge a place on their worst day... but after waiting an hour to process a return, I'm going to go ahead and do it because an hour later I'm frustrated. There are 4 return window, only 2 are staffed. I've heard they had someone call in this morning and because it was right after opening they must not have had an opportunity to get another person in to help. A store this size I would hope a manager could reassign personnel to get the line going around the corner and in front of the door to manage the line. When I left the line was still around the corner. The desk worker was nice but couldn't help. The manager had no desire to help. I guess because I didn't want to come return during the pandemic I can't return it, even for store credit. I guess I'm done shopping at IKEA. I was a kid in a candy store (a very big candy store)!! I recently moved here from Honolulu, Hawaii and it's pretty much impossible to find modern furniture for a good price. I saw $200 bed frames here that I saw back in Hawaii selling for $700+. The products, the store, everything was a great experience until I tried to get a couch. I was at this information kiosk in the warehouse section of the store. The guy I spoke to seemed like he hated his life (it was a stark contrast compared to the chipper woman working next to him). I showed him the couch I wanted and he just responded "we don't have the pieces to make that" and just stared at us. I kinda wished he could've given us any type of solution like when we would be able to get the couch, when it would be in stock, or similar options. I ended up checking online and found a similar couch and ordered it. Should be coming in on Wednesday. The interaction is what brought this place down to 4 stars. I was debating getting a new work desk for my home "office". Saw a nice desk online but needed to see it in person to make sure the dimensions would work. The desk ended up not being in stock but they had a sample on the floor I could see and if I decide to change desks I would come back and buy it.
