Do not purchase furniture at IKEA. Especially do not purchase online and have it delivered. We came to the showroom and tried lots of couches. We also visited other stores. We selected a couch and gleefully waited for it to be delivered. We began assembling it. That's where the excitement ends. Unfortunately, they did not deliver the proper items to us. We were supposed to get 3 boxes. We got 2 correct boxes and the third box was a CEILING LAMP instead of the sofa covers. We wound up with a naked couch that looks HORRIBLE. Within an hour we notified the truck delivery driver that we had received a random lamp. They asked us to send a photo. We did. Within another hour we notified them we were actually missing a box and did not receive our complete order. They stopped responding. We then called IKEA customer service, and they said the truck route was set and they would likely not be able to return. Customer service promised to make it right and FedEx the couch covers to us within 5 days. Today was day 5, and it did not arrive. Called customer service again. Spent another 30 minutes on the phone to discover that the resolution was not properly filed, leading to the delay, and now the item is scheduled to arrive in another 5 days. Two weekends with a couch we can't use! I attempted to pivot and said: Can we just get a refund? (At least then we could end this nightmare.) They said sure, and we could schedule a pick up. But *we* would have to disassemble it! We already put hours into assembling it (which took sweat, muscles, and 3 people!) and now we have to take it apart? I asked how we could make this right or if I could speak with a supervisor. They said no supervisor was available at the "call center." (Impatiently waiting for a call back.) But that's when things got weird. At the end of the call the customer service rep asked if we were satisfied with her response. I explained that while not her fault, no, we were not satisfied. She then began to explain how important a positive review of the call was, how negatively not having one would affect her. She sounded frightened and on the edge of tears. She did not want to hang up until we agreed to reconsider her review because it would be so detrimental to her. What is IKEA doing to its own people??? No couch. No resolution. No IKEA is the lesson. Also, I would not want to contribute to someone losing their job or being tortured. I just want to buy a couch and actually receive it in the time that was promised. IKEA claims that it aims "to create a better everyday life for the many people." It has failed. Failed the customer, and possibly worse yet failed the very people it employs. Save yourself. Second time going to IKEA. We needed a new dresser for my bedroom. First things first, my mom and I were hungry so we stopped by the food court to grab a quick bite. Can't come here without having some Swedish meatballs. I also got the fried fish, which was surprisingly so freaking good! The price is super affordable and the service and staff made the wait time move swiftly. I managed to get a nice dresser and have it delivered home and assembled for me. Have been coming to this IKEA locations for many years. While it could be hectic on weekends, coming here on a weekday was always relaxing and enjoyable. We came here last Thursday to pick up a few small things, and to get new decorations ideas/inspirations as usual. It's great that we could charge our car while shopping as well. We noticed that a few of the things we got 1-1.5 year ago that we wanted to get more, such as picture frames and mirrors, were 15-30% more expensive! Not sure if it's because of inflation or tariffs. When it comes to home organization and bed sheets, Ikea is always the go-to as I hate buying those things online and really enjoy the instant gratification of buying something and not having to wait for it. On my latest visit, the escalators to the showroom floor was broken, so I went the reverse route with starting at the bottom floor instead of the showroom floor. Honestly best thing for me because I was able to go for exactly what I needed. While the prices have gone up slightly over the years, I still feel like there's good value to be had. They really do offer a wide range of quality of bed sheets, all different thread counts and textures. I do like how it's all organized by bed size, although you do have to look closely because things get moved around throughout the day. From what I've learned, if you are able to go on a weekday or right at opening on the weekend, you'll avoid the crowds and long lines. Middle of the day on the weekends though, it's a hard pass. I went to the store for some lights and to redeem free ice cream from my rewards. The kiosk didn't allow me to scan my code to process the order and the app said my item was already redeemed. I asked the lady at the counter for some help. She kept telling me there was nothing she can do about it if it doesn't show on her screen. She offered no solutions and was extremely impatient and rude. I asked someone at self checkout and he said he couldn't help so he grabbed the manager. The manager was actually super nice and helpful. She walked me through the steps so it wouldn't happen again in the future. Cheap good food with fun albeit sad displays! Kinda sad that they replaced the veggies with the peas but it was yum regardless. Swedish meatballs are always good! We came on a hunt for the orangutan plush and it was super cute in the kids section. I enjoyed the Mac and Cheese and the salmon a lot. I am a huge fan of Ikea! Shopped here earlier this month and could not resist stopping at the upstairs cafe for their famous Swedish meatballs meal with peas, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. The cafe is very spacious and with lots of tables and seating area. One perk that comes with an Ikea membership is complementary coffee...for those who are coffee lovers or simply need more oomph to walk around in that gigantic store. read more

This is my main furniture store I go to for simple home decor. Even though it's not as pretty as Anthropology, it's affordable, minimalistic, and pretty sturdy for over 10 years. You can also decorate or paint any design you want on plain furniture. They don't have everything in stock, so I have to purchase on their website, which is a bummer for walking around the whole store. I highly recommend signing up for their free membership, so you can receive food discounts on certain menu items and free coffee/tea from their cafeteria. I always go for their Swedish meatballs plate. I don't recommend ordering the chicken tenders with fries, which were both drier than Popeyes. Even their cake slices are dry since they put them on their refrigerated display for nearly the whole day. Stockholm Salmon was good with a small chunky potato salad. Never order their cooked salmon plate, which is frozen. You can cook it better at home or go to a fancy seafood restaurant nearby. As for doing remote work with their complimentary wi-fi, please do not come on weekends. Expect to hear loud, crying children throwing a tantrum or have a cute, gentle baby giggle next to you. My family and I look forward to coming here when we travel near here. We always end up spending way more time than we plan to. The displays are nice to look at and definitely always inspire us to remodel our house. It can get crowded, especially on weekends so watch out for that. The layout of the store is pretty organized though. I love how they organize each room. It's easier to look through. It can be overwhelming though. Ikea hasn't changed much since the last time I visited. There are new designs for the duvets, picture frames, kids toys, furniture etc. This visit we went to find some decorations for my daughter's room. She wanted floating shelves. We found the shelves and picked up some other household items. We needed some screws for the shelves and I was able to find a worker to ask. He was so kind, attentive and got us what we needed. IKEA has good ideas and the lay out is fine. The problems start here when you want to purchase something. Everything is easy to find but the check out line is worse than the DMV. At least the DMV has learned over the years and it is much better than before but still a chore to wait. IKEA has 26 registers to help you part ways with your money but only 7 of them open today and few on other days. Do note that today being A Sat during the summer you know it is going to be busy. 8 July 2018 13:30hrs. Come on IKEA find a solution for the line organization and find a way to get people out quicker. Do you ever notice how many abandoned carts there are near the check out lines. They are there because people give up and just leave. Especially the ones who don't know to walk past the two longest lines in the center and make their ways to the front on either side . This step alone saves you half the wait. I have been in line about 20 min my timer I started after noticing the line wasn't even moving. It's been about 15 years since I set foot in ikea. When I stopped going I was bored with the store. Even new items seemed like minuscule variations designed to give the product a new name and to ensure maximum incompatibility with the old product. This hasn't seemed to have changed. The old classics are still there but they seemed few and far between. One thing I look for are foldable furniture, but most items need to be assembled and are not meant to be disassembled. I did like their kitchen items but mostly the small odds and ends that every kitchen needs. The problem for IKEA now is Amazon. Amazon quality is less consistent than IKEA but for smaller to medium size purchases that shipping fee can kill the sale. And no I don't have the muscle to pick up the package and drive it home. One of the more substantial items are the pots and pans. I've had pretty good luck with the 365 line of pots. But Amazon interferes again. There are a lot of pots that are higher quality and more cost competitive. Tramontina springs to mind. The 365 line performs well because the disk at the bottom is so substantial not because they have superior metallurgy. As for the knives well they make excellent beater knives and are appropriately priced. One thing that has changed radically. The little paper notes and tiny pencils are almost gone. Now you download the app and start scanning to create your shopping lists . But wait they still haven't solved the real problem. How do you find the item? IKEA quality is more consistent but there is quite a premium on the price. I've noticed once you get into the better quality lines the cost rises until all your other options become price competitive. So you better wait for a sale. The miniature steel pots for kids remains one my favorites. Finally a toy that babies can play with and use for teething as well. I've had good luck with their kitchen knick knacks. From brushes for the sink to the toilet you get reasonable quality for a nice price. I used to like their glasses, but they shatter very easily. Their steel utensils are pretty reliable but the selection isn't comprehensive.I'm down to speciality items like fish spatulas. No luck. I deliberately picked up one of their pepper grinders. I purchased one 30 years ago and it lasted close to twenty years. Here's to some more of that! You can't leave IKEA without eating the meatballs. I don't like them but I eat them because it's part of the IKEA experience. But they've improved them radically with just a little dollop of cranberry sauce. The sweet/tart flavor complements the intensely meaty flavor of the meatballs, bringing the whole thing into balance. The small plate of the meatball meal was astonishingly priced at $2.99. If you wanted to you could order two plates of this for six bucks and it would be more food and lower priced than the large meatball meal. IKEA is celebrating its birthday and the special price on the meatball meal is part of the celebration. If you sign up for the IKEA loyalty program, they give you a free coffee on Tuesdays. It doesn't seem like a reasonable incentive to get you in there on a Tuesday, but the luck was with me and it was so. read more

The return process is a joke - wasting 1.5-2+ hours out of your day to return items is diabolical customer service. Lunchtime purchase was a breeze even with the busy-ness. The marinated salmon lunch tasted so good and I got a side of the famous IKEA meatballs for 1.50 talk about a great deal! The employees on the sales floor are super nice from start to finish! They are helpful and knowledgeable and super funny. Came in for the usual IKEA experience and left with mixed feelings. While shopping, I noticed a large, healthy looking plant already inside a garbage can. It was clearly alive, just not sellable. I politely asked if I could take it home to save it instead of it going to waste. The answer was no. I understand that policies exist, but it was genuinely disappointing to see a perfectly salvageable plant refused when the only alternative was the garbage. For a brand that emphasizes sustainability, this felt unnecessarily wasteful and out of sync with that message. Staff were polite, so this isn't about attitude. It's about policy. Ikea is chaotic evil. The quality of the furniture is what you pay for - basically good when you're a broke college student and terrible once you start making decent money. I haven't stepped foot into Ikea since I left grad school to purchase anything, but alas, circumstantial events led me to EPA Ikea. We needed something same day and unfortunately decided to venture to here. In the past, you were able to pick up the items yourself in the main area. Nowadays, you either order online or add the item to a virtual shopping list and pay prior to going to the pick-up area. I highly avoid this tactic because you'll end up waiting for what literally feels like forever with very little direction in a sea of confused individuals. Workers seem overwhelmed and can be quite rude, based on what I heard from others waiting in the area. Never again! I'm going back to West Elm or the like. I thought the stars were inaccurate... but don't expect much. No one was helpful. I blame management. It's evident that folks are hired and not treated well, so that tickles down to how the interact with customers. We talked to Jonathan in the lighting department twice and ended up helping ourselves. I called and was provided help faster than he was able to help me. The first time I asked a question he was suggesting I search on my phone instead of him using his device. Again I really feel like this is a management issue, I'm sure the people are capable. Management just doesn't care enough so the employees don't care either. If you want to get lost forever, go to IKEA... There's no service... Once you get in there, you can't find your way out... Better to buy online and return Auto Exit signs are poorly marked... It's very difficult to know how to get out... After hearing so much hype around ikea food, i was finally able to give it a try during my visit to ikea! I was left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. I ate lunch around 2pm on a Saturday and it was pretty packed. Roughly a 20-minute wait in line but once you place your order, the food comes out quick. The food is bland and nothing that would want me to come back for more. The mash potatoes and gravy needed more salt and the peas were watery. The lemon herb fish was better taste wise, but it definitely reminds me of cafeteria food. They have another food court at checkout that serves grab and go items such as hot dogs and ice cream. This IKEA is as massive as any other I've been to on the East Coast, which is expected. I made the trip out here because the city location only carries IKEA accessories, not the full furniture selection. Unfortunately, despite coming prepared, I left disappointed. I had a list of five specific furniture pieces and racks to buy, but only managed to get two of them. The other three? Out of stock--even though the website showed they were available. I made sure to check inventory online before coming, so it was frustrating to find out that their system wasn't accurate. It seems like even if you do your due diligence, you're still rolling the dice on whether what you need is actually there. That said, the store itself is clean, spacious, and well-organized. The showroom is always fun to walk through, and I do appreciate being able to see and feel the furniture before deciding on a purchase. The food court is another plus--bright, roomy, and a good place to take a break during the visit. The biggest downside, aside from the inventory issues, was the checkout process. They only had self-checkout open, which meant a painfully long line stretching halfway through the warehouse--on a weekday. The wait was unnecessary and tedious, making an already frustrating trip even worse. Given how long this has been a complaint in past reviews, it doesn't seem like IKEA is in a rush to improve it. Overall, I still enjoy the IKEA atmosphere and exploring their showroom for design ideas, but the stock inconsistencies and inefficient checkout process make shopping here more of a hassle than it should be. Tried their restaurant today & got the meatballs + daim chocolate cake. It was overall pretty good - we got a solid amount of food for the price & we enjoyed it. This isn't anything I'd go out of my way for but if you're shopping & want something to eat with a kind of cute mountain view, I'd say it worth stopping in for. read more
