My first appt. was great. They were very thorough. My usual appt. with my former doctor lasted about 15 minutes total. This one was longer and included questions and concern for my overall well being and health. I am now retired and am focusing on my health. Medical assistant Nayshala was the first person I saw, then Physician assistant Debra Hunter was next. Both were fantastic. I felt I got a more personal attention experience. The ladies at the front desk were also very nice. I did have some apprehension about changing doctors, now I feel that I am in very good hands. Also instead of driving to Dallas, Dr Browns office is 1.7 miles away from my home. Great. Update-just had my first in-person appt during the COVID-19 era. The ladies at the front desk are still the best, friendly and professional, as are all the ladies in the back. I give special mention to the lady that draws blood, Mya (?). I was in once and started to chat with her about something. I looked down to see when she would start drawing the blood and she was pulling the needle out. The procedure was completed and I never felt a thing. She has always been "painless" for me. As a 70 year old senior, painless is very good.

The office contacted me for an appointment. Since Dr. Brown was now seeing patients in the office,…read moreI agreed. As the appointment was set for two weeks later, I requested mailed paperwork. It arrived the evening before the appointment. I was reminded by text 17 hours before the appointment that they required a 24-hour cancellation notice. I arrived with my TDL, insurance card, and vaccination card. I signed in and stood at the window, but was ignored, so I sat down. During the 15 minute wait, I watched the clerk and waited for some kind of acknowledgment, a greeting, a wave. Nothing happened. I got up and left. The odd thing was the clerk was not busy, but she also seemed to make a point of not seeing me and feigning paperwork. (I am an RN, so I do know actual busy). I did not know her, nor had I seen her before. I had heard wonderful things about Dr. Brown, but I will never know. Doctors don't realize how much business they lose because of the attitudes or their front-line staff. I have NEVER been to a medical office where the first thing they did was ignore you instead of collecting the insurance, ID, and other relevant papers. in fact, they usually give you new patient paperwork. I was a paying patient. I did not go looking for free medical care. I called back and talked to the clerk, who stated."Well, I was busy'. Too busy to greet a new patient?

This visit was at the Desoto, TX location, next to Kroger grocery…read more I took my fiancee' into this location on the afternoon of 7/25/2023 for two issues. One of which was a possible wrist fracture and the other, an (pet) animal bite. We went directly into the office, not knowing that an appointment was needed. The young lady at the reception desk was very understanding and pleasant but had to direct us to the online portal to make an appointment, which we did. We were seen by FNP-C Koffi, who was very pleasant and was very focused on the patient and getting an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment. We were very pleased with her care. X-rays were necessary for a possible fractured wrist and were completed very quickly. The photos were sent to an Xray tech for interpretation and were returned in about 15-20 minutes. This is a very reasonable timeframe as well. The animal bite was examined, did not show any sign of infection at that time. Ms. Koffi instructed us to monitor it and if it became infected, to call back in to the office and we would be prescribed antibiotics as treatment. The visit ended with us paying the expected price and leaving the practice feeling very good about the visit. I wrote an initial review using the link that came to us via text message, stating that we had been very pleased. THE NEXT DAY, on 7/26/2023, the animal bite was distinctly infected. My fiancee' called back in to the practice to get the promised prescription. She was told that this was not possible. She would have to pay for a 2nd visit, or wait until Ms. Koffi returned to duty (48 hours later). I stopped by the office on 7/27 to confirm this and a different reception desk attendant told me that this was correct, there would be no prescription written without additional payment or waiting for Ms. Koffi to return. Imagine a health care company that will let an infected animal bite go untreated unless they extort more payment from you - or tell you to just let the infection simmer for a couple more days until the other nurse is on duty. This is not a health care company that cares about patients. In conclusion, I sincerely hope Ms. Koffi finds better employment in the very near future. This kind of organization has some very good people but is interested only in your money, not your healthcare.

Me: "I was told by the Cedar Gill clerk that I can come to this location to be seen because their x-ray machine was broken." Clerk: still no eye contact as she continues to type; Points to poster, "You need an appointment." Me:They told me that I didn't need one. Since I was already on their books. Clerk: Picks up phone and calls Cedar Hill. Then hangs up the phone and says. Ok so you still need to go online and make an appointment. I picked up appointment card and headed to a better area and location where I was treated with more dignity, empathy, and respect.
