I'm not sure what I was expecting when I put the address to IJAVA into my navigation system but definitely wasnt expecting this to be the top 3 best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Upon arrival iJAVA doesn't seem like it would knock your socks off, simple clean decor which I always appreciate. The menu is somewhat limited for breakfast but I love that they serve it all day long. My mom ordered the eggs Benedict and I got the tri-tip breakfast burrito the eggs Bennedict was so yummy and I was amazed by the potato and bacon that came as the side for over $21 though I will say it's on the pricier range. The beef brisket breakfast burrito at $17.95 was very reasonable in my opinion as it included very high quality beef brisket that was so tender. I'm usually not a fan of barbecue sauce, but it works well here! Both portion sizes were great! You will leave full Overall, I was super impressed by this spot and I'm so happy we have a brunch spot that's halal. I would 100% come back. Especially since the service was kind too. Cute cafe walking distance from children's discovery museum. We ordered some breakfast burritos and I was very happy with my Mexicali burrito which was a veggie burrito with eggs , sweet potato , cheese and black beans. My husband got the fully loaded burrito which had eggs, beef, cheese, potatos but it also had greens in it which was kind of weird in a breakfast burrito. It came with a tasty salsa. Everything on the menu looked delicious, I wanted something fairly healthy for breakfast. The person behind the counter was very nice and she recommended the power scramble and it was great. I've tried this dish at countless breakfast spots across the Bay Area, and iJava serves the best version--if you order it right. My order: Crab cake Benedict On a croissant Spinach on the side Hollandaise sauce on the side Why? Because the spinach is overly cheesy and strong, which overwhelms the delicate crab flavor. The "hollandaise" sauce isn't traditional--it's very thick, almost like a rich flavored spread, not the classic silky version. I skip it entirely and enjoy the crab and croissant on their own. When made this way, the crab cake Benedict is absolute perfection. Flaky croissant, real crab, and no overpowering extras. Now, about the French toast... iJava boldly claims to have the best French toast in the Bay Area. A manager even challenged me to try it, offering it on the house if I didn't like it. Someone who looked like the owner walked by and said, "I love our French toast--it's like bread pudding." That's exactly why I didn't like it. It is bread pudding. There's no cinnamon, no crisp edges, and it's drenched in vanilla syrup and fruit. They even bake their own baguette in-house specifically for this dish, but it's soaked in vanilla milk until soggy. Personally, I think they'd save time and money just using croissant or brioche, add the cinnamon in the custard before soaking. At least those would feel more like actual French toast. read more

I apparently ordered the wrong item because I was completely disappointed with the breakfast burrito. I asked for veggie version with no bacon. It was a few pieces of iceberg lettuce. I thought this place prided themselves on quality, healthy ingredients. The fruit in a picture on the Yelp site looks substantial and good. But my side salad' was useless and insulting. I also asked for the chipotle sour cream on the side. Whatever salsa I got on the side was hard to decipher if it was chipotle sour cream. The salmon Benedict was a good portion but on the salty side. Mainly I'm frustrated I paid $18 for one of the wimpiest burritos I've ever had. I would just walked to El Jalepeno Rojos or down to Tony at Delmas Market had I known I was going to be ripped off and still hungry after I ate. Stopped by iJava with friends for an early Sunday brunch. They have a few plant-based options that looked filling so I was excited to try a new breakfast spot. You order at the front and are given a number before finding a table. The ambiance inside is very mellow, cafe style, and there were a few tables outside if you wanted some extra sunshine. I went with their vegan bowl ($12) which contained black beans, tomatoes, sweet potato, corn, and avocado over a bed of greens. Thinking it'd be nice to have a bit more carbs in my bowl, I added a side of potatoes which was a great decision, though the bowl ended up being substantial enough! The bowl was dressed by a chipotle dressing which gave it a bit of a kick. It was a good hearty breakfast at a fair price. Was walking while waiting for my car oil change. I remembered this place from driving by to get in 87. Homey feel, looked like local business folks enjoy this place so I have it a try. Worth the gamble. I asked for a recommendation from the signature lattes. And the pistachio latte was a winner. I didn't need food but they have a great menu selection and people seem to enjoy the food. I may need to meet some friends here sometime. The atmosphere is hip and has great seating for intimate groups. It's near to the children museum. If I were a mom of a youngster, I'd be here with my kid. I didn't see if they have hot chocolate but it seems like I'd find something like that considering how close this is to the museum. Definitely one to bookmark. read more

Came to this restaurant about an hour before closing on a Thursday. It's a small restaurant in a more industrial side of town, where there appears to be a lot of construction going on. For parking, there's limited parking near the restaurant so we chose to park across the street in a pay to park lot. Service was ok. You order the food at the counter and it's brought to you. I don't recall anyone checking on us too often but I think they did 1x or 2x. It's a pretty basic breakfast menu. I remember ordering the chilaquiles and crepes and my friend ordered some sort of breakfast plate with eggs. The chilaquiles were good, not very flavorful but not bad. This is my favorite breakfast spot in San Jose! Everything I've ever tried from here is always amazing, and the staff is so friendly.

The crab Benedict is flavorful and although not hot when served has an almost minty profile, while still being extremely hearty and filling, the potatoes not so much, I would recommend subbing the potatoes or asking for no potatoes if possible. The tiger spiced chai is wonderfully spicy and laced with cinnamon. The service is fast, within two minutes of placing my order I had two servers bringing my Benedict and Tiger spiced chai. The interior is well crafted and made of primarily wood which lends to a cozy cafe atmosphere. Although the food was good and filling it's not cheap, for these two items before tax it was 28, after it was 32. read more
